SCENE I, Underground Hideout, Day Fuehrer is pacing the length of the plain table when Officer speaks to him. OFFICER Angela Merkel is weak. This is a time of disorder for the German world. The regime must resume his course. She has proven that negotiation is no longer an option. Invasion is the only course of action. We must act soon or the Fatherland will perish. FUEHRER You are correct General. But we must wait. Good things come to those who wait. We will bide our time and strike when ready. Only patience will save the Fatherland. OFFICER Of course, Sir. Praise the Fuehrer. Praise his plan for the glory of the Fatherland. FUEHRER You will speak of no one about this plan. Surprise will be our key weapon in the takeover of the world. If any of the other Generals new of our plan, our entire situation would be compromised. Do I make myself perfectly clear? OFFICER Of course, Fuehrer. I would always respect your wishes. Even, if it means that I have to sacrifice my own life for yours. FUEHRER Excellent, General. Let us hope that it does not have to come down to that though. Anyway, our only real threat is the American Army. But, most of their standing army is stationed in Iraq. They will never be able to respond. OFFICER Besides, they could only be able to send their poorly, trained National Guard. We are sure to win with superiority. FUEHRER Of course, General. We shall succeed. They depart the room in separate directions.
MIZER Hey. I don¶t have a problem. Could you go to the store today and pick up some basic stuff. MIZER (to himself) We all know it¶s not medical. Kody. He turns back to Fegley. He gets out of bed and walks through front room past Fegley sleeping on the couch. I¶m up. He gets the Baking Soda and chucks it at Fegley. Fegley continues to snore and be completely oblivious to what Mizer is saying. Greg! Wake up! The sun is shining. Just make sure it gets done. FEGLEY Sure. MIZER I said I¶m going to work. After Mizer realizes that Fegley is not going to budge. It¶s time to stop hibernating and get moving again. Greg. Apartment. MIZER Greg. I¶m heading off to work. You¶re nighttime fridge raids have cleaned us out again.SCENE II. He closes it when he realizes that there is no food inside beside a box of baking soda. MIZER Gregory! FEGLEY (still sleepy) I¶m up. Maybe you should go to the store today and pick up some food«unless you want to live on this box of baking soda.
. MIZER Whatever. but my hunger pains are purely medical. Mizer exits the apartment and shuts the door. He enters the kitchen and opens the fridge. It¶s sapped us of our money. Morning Opening Credits Alarm Clock rings and Mizer hits it to make it stop. What d¶ya want.
sir I need this« BOSS No buts. I do not. BOSS Mizer! Mizer is startled and quickly starts to straighten papers.

MIZER Ah« Boss exits out of cubicle and down the hall.SCENE III. I have no choice but to let you go. Ever since we¶ve hired you our company¶s monthly income has dropped steadily. BOSS Your sales are done again. no Sir. Boss circles around to face Mizer.
MIZER Fine. Greg. what is it?
. FEGLEY Well. God is shining on us now. Outside Apartment. MIZER/FEGLEY Bad news. Taxes are not going to be a problem now because we don¶t have a job. We have to die to be able to do that. guess what. He picks it up and stands up. or shelter. This is it. Greg? What are we going to do? FEGLEY I know. MIZER No.SCENE IV. MIZER Perfect. (turns jar upside down) Mizer collapses on the front yard. MIZER/FEGLEY More? Great! You go first. We could sell our bodies to science. water. budgeting is not going to be a problem because we have no money.S. Evening Mizer exits car as Fegley exits apartment holding jar. we¶ll need a miracle to get out of this. Mizer turns his head on the ground and notices a U. This is our miracle. What are we going to do now. FEGLEY What? What is it? MIZER (happily) Yes. MIZER (reads) Yes. Jesus. FEGLEY Well. Army recruitment poster. That wouldn¶t work. We have no money for food.
I have faith in you. man. FEGLEY Sweet. Greg. The army. Greg. I know you can.

They high-five and yell/whoop. The army. free shelter. FEGLEY (still confused) The army? MIZER Yes. It¶s what we always wanted. Greg.
sir. Late Evening The German troops are mobilizing while Lieutenants give out orders and commands. FUEHRER Excellent. the Fuehrer. German Camp. How many troops did we manage to mobilize? OFFICER We have 20.SCENE V. Inform me of any new developments. Officer exits bunker and walks up to Fuehrer standing in the TC position on the tank. OFFICER Yes. sir. He gives a salute to the Fuehrer. OFFICER Hail. General. Keep them on high alert. Everything is going as plan. The camera pans to several Panzers rolling out of the motor pool onto the road. Officer marches off-screen while Fuehrer continues to observe his glorious army march into their barracks.000 infantry units so far and 80 Panzers ready for action when you are ready.

up privates! Show same backbone! You are not in Kansas anymore. breathing heavily. U. FEGLEY Oh. fighting unit.S. MOLOCK Why did the Corps give my unit a bunch of cry-babies? Man. Army Camp. Lord. There is no way that you can get out now besides in a body bag. You are in the U. maggot! Mizer and Fegley snap to a sloppy attention. Army Corps.S. You are mine and mine alone«and it¶s my job to mold you maggots into an efficient. Why! MIZER Why did they have to wake us at 2:00 in the morning? FEGLEY Why did we not eat µtil six hours later? MIZER Why did we have to do so many push-ups? FEGLEY Why did we take that twenty mile run? Molock walks on screen in his NCO fatigues. FEGLEY «Sir!

FEGLEY Everything except what a maggot it is« Molock gives him a nasty glare. FEGLEY (still exhausted) Who are you. Late Day Fegley and Mizer are wearing fatigues drenched in sweat.
It¶s gone now.MOLOCK Good. The platoon has just got it approved. Be up and ready at 0300 hours tomorrow. right. FEGLEY (flustered) I don¶t have a problem. now. They both walk off to the NCO barracks. MIZER (accepting) All. There is going to be a few changes around here. But let¶s get down to the bottom of this before we find out the hard way. Get ready for our daily march. Fifty miles every day! Molock exits off-screen. Mizer and Fegley remain at attention until they are absolutely sure that he is gone. I¶m done running around for a while. MIZER I don¶t know«but all that running was good for you. MIZER Does this mean we passed basic training? FEGLEY I hope so.

we need to talk to Sergeant. I like the old man here. We never heard about any mission? STAFF SERGEANT I¶d be surprised if you did. STAFF SERGEANT Privates? What is so important that it got you out of your drills? MIZER Sir. You see. He is with the Colonel discussing the mission to come. This maybe boot camp but it¶s a lot worse out there. Early Night Mizer and Fegley walk up to the Staff Sergeant behind the counter and asks to talk to Molock. Molock. Fade to black. Staff Sergeant ends with a cynical smile and laugh.
. maggots«things are about to get ugly. the Sergeant is terribly busy. NCO Barracks. The Division doesn¶t have very many specialized forces to deploy since most of them are already in Iraq. Don¶t get on his bad side. It seems that Command wants a small mop-up mission completed somewhere. Gives the base a false sense of security. FEGLEY Mission. He is to be shipped out with a small group of men tomorrow morning. Sgt.SCENE VII. MIZER (confused) Wait. So you¶re saying that we are being shipped off somewhere? STAFF SERGEANT Oh. but it doesn¶t seem like it will last that way for long. Personally. Molock is a Vietnam veteran who has also seen action in Afghanistan. you¶re his new unit! Well. STAFF SERGEANT Well maggots. Molock and his crew got killed during their last attack and was transferred here.
when are we going to land«? MIZER (still scared) Uh. MIZER (slightly scared) Sir. MOLOCK All right. FEGLEY I don¶t like the Staff Sergeant. FEGLEY (scared also) Sarge. no.SCENE VIII. What is a problem is why we are here and where we are going. FEGLEY Yeah man. Molock exits front of plane and enters into cargo hold. Early Morning Mizer and Fegley are in the cargo hold strapped into chairs with full gear on and secured. He seems to change his story a lot. A small group of Krauts have declared independence and started a skirmish campaign to take over the German Government. sir. He¶s creepy. Military Plane. MIZER I know but that¶s not a problem now. shut up. It¶s our job to do so. we¶ve been on this plane for hours. We¶re going to kill us some Krauts now just like my pa. Only with preemptive strike will we succeed in taking down these Krauts. What do you mean by ³say our hallelujahs?´ Molock gives them a smile then Mizer and Fegley look at each other with fear in their eyes. is it World War III? MOLOCK When we succeed. maggots! This is how we do it in the corps! We are going to Deutschland! Say your prayers and your hallelujahs! FEGLEY Deutschland? I¶ve never heard of that place before? MOLOCK Maggot. We are going to Germany.
Get me down! Mizer and Fegley both look up to see Fegley wiggling in a tree. After five seconds. It¶s time to fly.
. MIZER Thanks. MOLOCK (smiling) All right. screaming like little babies of course. Molock is in a spread eagle formation as Mizer and Fegley notice him.SCENE IX. Sky over Germany. Mizer notices and pulls his. make it stop. etc. MIZER/FEGLEY (mumbled) I don¶t wanna do this. Fegley continues to scream and tumble a while but then pulls his cord. maggots. Molock descends to the ground feet first with a thud. MOLOCK (confused) How in heaven did he pass basic training? Fade to black. Molock pulls his parachute cord. Fegley. Scene goes on for several minutes as Mizer and Fegley tumble through the air. Molock steps to the side of them. and Molock are at the end of the plane ready to jump. Where is Greg? Fegley Up here! Spider! Spider! Spider! Big ol¶ spider. Mizer hits the ground and stumbles head first. mommy!. MOLOCK (smiling) Nice job. They both look at each other and then continue screaming. maggot for a first jump. Day Mizer. Molock pushes Mizer and Fegley off the end and they both fall.
they¶d be onto us if that unit didn¶t check in at its proper time. MIZER So we¶re going to do nothing? FEGLEY Fine with me. what are we going to do Sarge? MOLOCK We¶re not going to do anything. He had this drug problem« Fegley leans on a tree as a branch pulls the trigger on his submachine gun letting it unload a couple rounds. (silently) Mizer stops and Fegley bumps into him. what¶s going on up there? MOLOCK (silently) Shut up. Day March through forest montage. MIZER Well. German Forest. we¶ll make so much noise we¶ll wake the entire forest. sir. Molock curses loudly as the German Patrol hears them and starts marching hesitantly this way. (points) MIZER Well. MIZER Way to Greg! They¶re coming now!
. Molock is taking point while Mizer and Molock follow.SCENE X. FEGLEY Hey. Plus. Anybody got any snacks? I¶m starving. MOLOCK (holding up a fist) Halt. maggot. There is a Kraut patrol up ahead. If we take out that Kraut unit. I could use some rest. See µem through the trees. MOLOCK What¶s his deal with food? He¶s used up half our rations.
private! It¶s not going to matter anymore. MOLOCK Get some! At that moment. MIZER Sarge!!! Fegley unloads the rest of the clip into the last German. When we get back. MOLOCK It don¶t matter. Stop talking. Sarge.
. the German notices him and hits Molock in the chest with a grenade. Hold my hands. now! Mizer and Fegley rush to their respective cover. Fegley. Sarge! Where are you going to be«? Mizer is stunned as Molock climbs up the tree despite his age. I¶m putting you two in for Corporal.FEGLEY I¶m sorry«
MOLOCK Shut up. MIZER No. Molock takes out lead German with a headshot. I¶ve got something to say. boys. Both rush over to Sarge who has fallen out of the tree. MOLOCK (dying) Good job. Save your breath. Mizer. Fegley unloads on full auto with his sub-machine gun nailing a German with a spray of shots. When those Krauts meet us. We have to be ready. you take that log over there as cover. Mizer hesitates a moment but starts firing his rifle. MOLOCK (whispering to self) Now it¶s game time fellas. get over there behind that tree! MIZER But. MOLOCK (whispering) Get to cover.
They might come in handy. Complete the mission. Fade to black. FEGLEY What do we do now. MOLOCK (beginning to die) You guys have got to go on. More of them will be here. We need to get rid of these bodies before another patrol finds them. MIZER Wait. Kody? MIZER Collect his tags. Take their uniforms too. Molock collapses on the ground dead. We move on. Sarge. Greg. MOLOCK (noticing) Oh« FEGLEY It doesn¶t matter.
. Each respective hand has been blown off leaving only a stump with blood running down it.Mizer and Fegley each grab an arm. Tell us what you have to say. Do it for«do it for«do it for«me. They both turn around to get the bodies. Fegley collects Molock¶s tags as they continue down the forest. Greg.
I do believe there is something wrong. OFFICER Indeed. Captain. Evening Officer is reviewing maps and battle plans when Junior Officer enters the room. JUNIOR OFFICER Of course.SCENE XI. We cannot let anything go wrong. one have our forest patrols is four hours overdue for a check in. JUNIOR OFFICER Of course. sir. Reinforce all checkpoints with additional infantry. Hail the Fuehrer. Junior Officer exits room as Officer continues to look over plans. OFFICER Dispatch a unit to investigate. General. Captain? JUNIOR OFFICER General. Now be gone. OFFICER What is it. Underground Hideout.
FEGLEY (desperate) Come on. Kody? MIZER We gotta keep moving. We can¶t stop. We don¶t need another one of us dying. Kody! The drugs! I need µem. what are we going to do now. Kody. All we have left is a few pieces of jerky that we need to save for later. Kody? Do you have anything to eat? I¶m starving. Can¶t we rest for a little while? I know you¶re tired. just take five. German Forest Clearing. Fegley begins to twitch uncontrollably. tell me you have some! MIZER (whispering) I already told you! We need to save some for later«! FEGLEY (still yelling desperately) No. We¶ll stop for a bit. FEGLEY Hey. Please. Mizer and Fegley lean up against a tree. I have to rest. We¶ve got to stop. Kody! Tell me you have some! Please. Greg. MIZER (whispering loudly) Greg. MIZER Greg. MIZER (turns around) Alright. We¶ve gotta continue. Just sit there and rest. But check your gun before you sit down this time. Dusk Small montage of Mizer and Fegley through forest. FEGLEY (yelling desperately) I can¶t take it! I have to have some. We have to get moving soon.SCENE XII. Shut Up! They¶ll here us!

GERMAN SERGEANT (to radio) Orders confirmed. Greg. Small cut scene of them advancing. Search and apprehend. Dusk A second German Patrol is walking through the forest when they hear Mizer and Fegley arguing in the distance. Attention goes to Mizer and Fegley wrestling. Requesting further instructions. German Sergeant signals the German Patrol to follow.SCENE XIII. JUNIOR OFFICER (over radio) Search and apprehend. Bring them in. MIZER/FEGLEY Oh«
. They approach clearing where Mizer and Fegley are wrestling on the ground. alive. They roll over to see the sub-machine guns pointing at their heads. FEGLEY Uh. this is Patrol Johannes. Did you hear that? MIZER It sounded like«guns. GERMAN SERGEANT What are they doing? German Patrol watches Mizer and Fegley. We¶ve got enemy activity in the distance. They stop when they hear distinct metallic clicks. Arguing gets progressively louder. GERMAN SERGEANT (to radio) Command. German Forest.
SCENE XIV. OFFICER Understood. They would have escaped our troops if we hadn¶t apprehended them. OFFICER Excellent. German Camp. I will inform the Fuehrer of the incident. which confirms my theory. Since they were heading in the opposite direction of the camp. Hail the Fuehrer. Captain. General. JUNIOR OFFICER General. An American taskforce was captured on the perimeter of the forest. He will want to be informed of these developments. They were wearing our uniforms too. I assume they are spies with important information on the base.
. They both depart in different directions. Morning Officer is standing at Barracks when Junior Officer approaches. You were right to approach command of this.
W. I don¶t know what came over me. man.W. Fegley turns around to untie Mizer. I think we¶re at the enemy camp. German P. don¶t accept my apology! Why. man? MIZER (whispering also) I don¶t know. That guy didn¶t tie µem up good. We are blindfolded you know! MIZER Well. I was just trying to be polite« MIZER Jesus! We are in a P.O. I¶m sorry for what happened in the forest. FEGLEY (surprised) Greg«are your hands free? FEGLEY (forgetting about punching his friend in the face) Hey. I guess they are. stupid animal! Fegley out of anger punches Mizer in the face. MIZER (still whispering) Greg! This isn¶t the time or the place! FEGLEY (no longer whispering) Well. Day Mizer and Fegley in prisoner attire are rope-tied together and blindfolded to a pole.SCENE XV. Chamber. we have to get out of here. I didn¶t want to say anything in case he was still right next to us. Camp. FEGLEY (whispering) We are we.

They shake hands. You kind of reminded me of my family when you said it. I never knew my parents. They grab the guns. FEGLEY Forget about it. They start to head out the door when Mizer stops. and cock the guns. Mizer looks around the room and notices two guns. FEGLEY Yeah.
. Let¶s do this.MIZER Hey. load the magazines. Bust out of the door jumping into the air firing randomly when it freeze frames. look at each other. Kody. man. stupid animal. Mizer and Fegley remain quiet and dumbfounded. FEGLEY (not understanding sarcasm) No it wasn¶t. OFFICER (to Fuehrer) Sie werden auch nicht zu reden. Someone is coming. that was a very successful attempt. Fuehrer and Officer enter Chamber. Chamber. MIZER (sarcastic) Well. That guy even tied my hands together this time. Now.SCENE XVI. OFFICER (in distance) Mein Fuehrer. Bindet sie los und bringen sie an den Galgen. Day Mizer and Fegley in prisoner attire are rope-tied together and blindfolded to a pole. I do hope that you are comfortable here. German P. FUEHRER Well. FUEHRER Still. Door being slammed can be heard in the distance.

OFFICER Halt den Mund! Mizer and Fegley still continue to plead desperately. After they quiet down he calls in the second German Patrol to escort them out of the room. Since you are not going to talk. They are still blindfolded.FUEHRER Well gentlemen.
. OFFICER Halt den Mund!!! Jetzt!!! Seeing that they won¶t calm down he hits them with the back of his hand. Fuehrer leaves as Mizer and Fegley begin to plead desperately. My Heerführer and I have no choice but to execute you.
Officer is already at the Gallows waiting patiently. OFFICER (to Junior Officer) Sind die Truppen bereit? JUNIOR OFFICER Noch nicht. Private Fegley. American soldiers advance through the trees firing towards the camera¶s direction.SCENE XVII. MIZER Well. Ich möchte sehen. OFFICER (to German Sergeant) Entfernen Sie die Augenbinden. Allgemeine. Day German Sergeant is carrying Mizer to Gallows while the other second German Patrol unit carry Fegley. Mizer and Fegley notice Molock with a sling on his arm and bandages around his stomach. A massive battle ensues as Officer retreats towards the Underground Hideout. (gulps) A miracle got us into this mess. Mizer and Fegley are escorted up the steps and their heads are put in the noose. Officer (to German Sergeant) Bereit« Mizer and Fegley close their eyes. I honestly don¶t know. Aber bald. FEGLEY (terrified) Ah. OFFICER (to German Sergeant) Festlegen« A giant rumbling along with gunshots breaks the Officer¶s concentration. Greg. German Sergeant begins to take off their blindfolds.
. This war ain¶t over yet. MOLOCK Hold on. private. FEGLEY Can do. you¶re alive! How did you find us? MOLOCK It seems that Command sent an additional unit in case our mission failed. MIZER That¶s great. You take Fegley and clear out that building that that Kraut Officer entered. Sir.MIZER/FEGLEY (relieved) Sarge! The Americans consolidate their ground as Molock and US Private run towards the Gallows. MIZER Sir. Me and my boys are going to mop up any resistance. Mizer reaches into his pocket and extends the tags. Gregory. They found my body half-breathing in the forest where we were attacked. (remembering tags) Oh. FEGLEY It¶s great to see you. Sergeant. US Private throws them each a gun. Close up on Mizer cocking his gun. We have a Fuehrer to catch. these are yours. MIZER Come on.
FUEHRER (to himself) This is the way it should be. Greg. Come on. There is a slowed down sequence of Fegley noticing the gunshot and falling. Mizer holds up a hand and counts on his finger to three. You¶re going to make it home. But that isn¶t important« Kody. They get to the end of the hall and flank the door. MIZER (exasperated) Come on. Fuehrer is holding a pistol. I¶m not. Fuehrer silently passes on as Mizer rushes over to Fegley convulsing on the floor. Greg. let¶s go. Don¶t talk like that. FEGLEY (still dying) No Kody. Greg. Kody? I¶m not going to make it. you¶ve been like a brother to me. No. They search each room eliminating any resistance that they encounter. they both rush through the door and stop dead in their tracks.SCENE XVIII. MIZER (frightened) No. There isn¶t anything else to see. The Fuehrer is riddled with bullets and collapses on the floor. but it doesn¶t matter. You completed the mission. He raises the pistol and fires at Fegley. They find Fuehrer and Officer lying on the ground with blood everywhere. Don¶t ever forget that«
. Mizer and Fegley turn to head for the door when Fuehrer silently stands up. Mizer silently screams and fires his sub-machine gun at the Fuehrer. Day Mizer and Fegley open the door and advance down the stairs. Keep it together man« FEGLEY (dying) It¶s alright« You know what. FEGLEY Are they really«? MIZER I think so. You did it. Complete victory or utter defeat. No. Underground Hideout. On the third finger raised. His stomach has blood gushing. FEGLEY (compliant) Alright.
FEGLEY (finally dying) Goodbye Kody« Fegley collapses as Mizer bows his head in sorrow. I won¶t ever forget.MIZER (starting to weep) I won¶t.

are you going to reenlist? MIZER I don¶t know. Taps can be heard off-screen as Mizer and Molock look towards Boss. Corporal. But. I was once a soldier like yourself in Vietnam. sir. He died for his country and no death can be greater than that. The camera pans toward him playing taps. Boss leaves via his car. Phillips? What are you doing here? BOSS I¶ve come to pay my respects. MIZER (grieving) It doesn¶t matter anymore. I already have a job. I never did lose anyone that I admired« If you weren¶t interested in continuing in the military. MIZER (confused) Mr. Now if you will excuse me.
. I must get going. Keep a stiff upper lip. Day Mizer is standing at Fegley¶s tomb silently saying his prayers when Molock walks up. MOLOCK (to Mizer) You did good out there.SCENE XIX. No. That was some nasty jungle. Both are in formal attire. I thought you might want your old job back« MIZER (interrupts) Sir. Man up. MOLOCK So Corporal. Mizer. MIZER (sighs) Yes.
