Source: https://www.elementaryartsintegration.com/singing-games.html

Materials needed:
A flower crown or a hat (both are optional)

Procedure:

AS: Who here has been to a fair? What do you remember about the fair?
Today we are going to be singing about a fair in Kentucky.

1. Sing each verse to them and have them sing each part back to you
(sing with them to help them along).

I was going to Kentucky,

I was going to the fair
I met a señorita
With flowers in her hair

Shake it baby, shake it

Shake it all you can
Shake it like a milkshake
And drink it from the can

Round de doo bop

One, two
Round de doo bop
One, two

And turn around

And turn around
Until you have to stop
2. While teaching them the song, teach them the movements that go
along with each line.

March for the first two lines

Stop for the third,
Hands on head to make it look like a crown for the fourth line
Have the person of the verse choose a dance move for the fifth
through the seventh lines
Pretend to drink from a can for the eighth line
Spin for the “round de doo bop”
Clap on one and two
The person of the verse spins around while everybody sings for
the last line

3. Select someone to be the person in the middle. Explain that the person
that we choose gets to choose a move to do for the “Shake it baby
shake it,” lines.
4. Tell them to pick someone and callout their name when they are done
spinning.
5. Start the song, go through all of the verses a few times
