New General Managers join Murrindindi ranks
Murrindindi Shire Council¶s executive management team has been completed with the appointment of Rob Cherry and Andrew Bainbridge. Council¶s Chief Executive Officer Margaret Abbey said the contracted positions would support and enhance Council¶s operations, as it continued the massive rebuilding commitment across the shire. Mr Cherry is Council¶s General Manager of Corporate and Community Services and joins Council from the Outdoor Education Group where he was Director of Finance for the past seven years. ³I am looking forward to making a difference in Council and supporting the community,´ Mr Cherry said. ³My role will be to support and develop the Corporate and Community Services area of council and to ensure the business functions and delivery of services to the community are effective and efficient,´ Mr Cherry said. ³I have inherited a very good team and through a strong collaboration we can continue to deliver and improve in business excellence.´ Mr Cherry lives in Eildon and is married to Anita and has three children. Mr Bainbridge is Council¶s General Manager Infrastructure Services and has held several positions at regional and country councils with his last appointment as Director Infrastructure Services at Hindmarsh Shire Council. ³I am looking forward to the role. I realise there is much to be done as the Council continues the recovery process,´ Mr Bainbridge said. ³I will be consolidating the good work already done internally into new or enhanced corporate systems that will improve service outcomes. What we hope to achieve is improved customer service through timely advice and outcomes. Mr Bainbridge will be responsible for Council¶s asset management, project delivery, waste management and infrastructure maintenance.

³There are certainly challenges in minimising costs and maximising opportunities to maintain, develop and enhance community assets, waste collection and disposal as well as project management and delivery. Mr Bainbridge is married to Vicki and has two children. Ms Abbey said the team was looking forward to the challenges of delivering for the people of Murrindindi. ³We are looking forward to working closely with our staff, Councillors and community to bring about the best results for our shire in terms of growth, livability, opportunities for young people and infrastructure needs,´ Ms Abbey said. ³Our goals and aspirations align with Council¶s four year plan and we are determined to meet those objectives set out in that plan.´
