we begin our spiritual work with the study and practices that use the human body as a tool. The Chinese refer to these energy circuits as Meridians. we wish to concentrate on the practical aspects of each of the techniques we will be showing you. By comparison. We could write an entire book for each chapter we have written here. The mysteries of the heart and mind (which seem to defy the ability of science to dissect and understand) are even greater. Both Qi-Gong and Kuji-In employ certain tools to stimulate and direct -8- . we will summarize a great deal of information in but a few lines.Introduction The human body. Thus. Most of them start or end at an extremity such as the fingers or toes. These words are essential to your understanding of the rest of the book. However. There are also a few technical words that you may want to understand before you start learning about this mystical art. and we will repeat their names often to make their assimilation easier. Meridians: There are many circuits of energy in the human body. Through our personal research. For this reason.
This book also provides the conceptual context that will make it possible for you to successfully use these techniques. chants/prayers (called mantras) and hand positions (called mudras). The techniques you will use to work with energy include: breathing exercises. Mudra: A “mudra” is a hand gesture or a hand position that is employed to bring into effect the flow of energies that terminate or start at the fingertips. to help you connect with your Higher Self. Qi-Gong and Kuji-In use these mandalas. I observe treasures of gold and gems as so many bricks and pebbles. and I view the holy path of the illuminated ones as flowers appearing in one’s eyes. This spiritual method will surely help you progress on your path to the realization of your full potential. There is another art called “Kuji-In” that redefines your vision of the world around you. Practicing its techniques will slowly reveal to you a vision of the universe that you could not have anticipated before you began. to perceive the Source of All.10 - .” Above all. because it allows your limited human mind to expand its vision. and the greatest lake in India as a drop of oil on my foot. and the rise and fall of beliefs as but traces left by the four seasons. Chinese medicine is also a very important source of knowledge for Qi-Gong practitioners. These practices are not linked with any specific fighting techniques. The art of Qi-Gong existed long before the martial artists incorporated it in their fighting styles. Therefore. as well as from the many applications of meditation those teachings utilize. you can also experiment with the manifestation of Qi outside your body. and it is not necessary to learn to fight to learn these techniques. The martial arts that were developed by the Shao-Lin monks use a mystical secret science to control the energy in the body. Taoist and Hindu teachings contain the fundamental wisdom that can be found behind most Oriental practices. and Gong is the practical method of application. . The most popular form of Qi-Gong in North America and Europe is Tai Qi Chuan.Summarized Theory The Buddhist.12 - . Therefore. Take a deep breath and feel to see if your ribs are moving. If your ribs . and then pull your abdomen in slightly without force. An inhalation should fill your lungs almost completely without straining your abdomen or diaphragm.21 - . When you exhale. Although it is impossible to keep your rib cage totally immobile (which is not the objective) it should move as little as possible without requiring too much effort. where your ribs connect to your sternum. The breath should naturally fill your abdomen. The Physical Body Breathing Normal and Reversed Breathing Normal Breathing: Normal Breathing is very different from the automatic breathing cycle that keeps you alive when you are not thinking about breathing. The reason is simple: no one really breathes correctly without thinking about it. A deep breath should not even make your upper ribs move. If they do. Place your hand over your heart. Most people take in only 11 ml of oxygen per minute. between your solar plexus and your throat. and not enough air is getting to the bottom of your lungs. let your abdomen rest until the air doesn’t come out naturally anymore. without raising your upper torso. It won’t completely empty your lungs. you are filling your upper lungs too much. far below the minimum oxygen your body needs to be healthy. A Normal Breath is a healthy breath.
(as you inhale and exhale). but it should fill your lungs up to 80% of your maximum capacity. to empty your lungs totally requires the application of more force than to bring them to a natural state. Just as it is not healthy to fill your lungs to 100%. . it is your abdomen that pushes out slightly and pulls in slightly. and it is not natural. To fill your lungs to 100% of their capacity requires effort. or that you filled the upper part of your lungs too much. Breath in Abdomen out Upper chest normal Breath out Abdomen normal Upper chest normal When you breathe normally. Breathing out with force and pulling in your abdomen slightly at the end of the breath empties your lungs to 10% or 20% of their capacity. it is not healthy to empty them completely. it means you had to lift them upward when you inhaled. The breathing cycle should not require excessive force.are moving inward or downward too much.22 - .
The Reversed Breathing cycle is used to concentrate or compress your Qi in a way that will make it denser. Let all your muscles relax and allow your body to breathe without influencing it. compressing it. take in a Normal Breath.23 - . and then let it out without any other effort than a slight pulling inward of your abdomen at the end of exhalation. Reversed Breathing To clearly understand the principles of Reversed Breathing. such as meditation. It is used to produce Jin . holding your breath out for 10 seconds. Qi and Shen in order for this practice to be effective. while you think about the difference between these two ways of breathing. hold the air in for 10 seconds and breathe out completely. It is important to keep your rib cage almost motionless while doing the Reversed Breathing. Normal Breathing will be used in all of the techniques that focus on the elevation of self. The Reversed Breath is used in physical development. You should also understand the principles of Jin. try filling your lungs completely (without hurting yourself). while keeping your rib cage as immobile as possible. Hold the air in for 3 seconds. Then. filling your lungs down to your abdomen with only a slight effort. mental and spiritual training. to open the channels of energy in your body and to enhance your ability to manifest your Qi on the physical plane. This is what is meant by a “Normal Breath”.To learn this for yourself. you must first practice accurate Normal Breathing. so it can become available on the physical plane. Now.
getting ready to pour energy into physical action. forget about the Normal Breathing method for a moment and let yourself breathe instinctively. you will feel heat. take in a quick.from your Qi. When in Danger. Breath in Abdomen pulled in Upper chest normal . Most people will notice that the abdomen automatically pulls in when you are breathing in. The quick breath mentioned above was only meant as an example. Experiment a bit with this breathing. perhaps needing to defend yourself.24 - Breath out Abdomen let out Upper chest normal . When you compact the Qi. and it pushes out slightly when you exhale. the body automatically does a Reversed Breath. To clarify this for you. This is the Jin. deep breath without thinking. Imagine yourself in a situation where you are very alert. For the Reversed Breath method. the breath should be drawn in as smoothly as the Normal Breath unless stated otherwise. thus requiring that you are ready for immediate action. While closing your fists.
25 - . release your abdominal muscles completely. As you breathe in. pushing out slightly at the end of the exhalation. . contract your abdomen. As you breathe out. When we are working with methods that focus on manifesting physical phenomena. pulling it in slightly. The upper rib cage still doesn’t move. and you should still breathe slowly and comfortably. without force. we will be doing Reversed Breathing.
As you visualize it traveling with your breath down to the area below your navel. When you gather Qi. and you will find it useful to think of the energy you are moving as a white cloud which flows like a stream wherever you direct it with your mind. which should be avoided at all cost. everyone could get sleepy. you must have Qi reserves to work with. don’t do this when you’re in a moving car. this too will actually occur. Gathering Qi is quite simple. . When you visualize compressing it in your Dan-tian. For example. or hyper. the Qi will be moved to your Dan-tian. you will need to be able to use your concentration for the visualizations that are necessary to successfully gather. you and everyone around you will get a little bit more prone to lose their concentration. or feel strange sensations in their body. and you can do it just about anywhere and anytime as long as you aren’t doing something that requires concentration. store.26 - . you simply need to imagine where the energy is and where you want it to go.Feeling the Flow of Qi While your body is taking in oxygen and circulating it.31 - . In the same way that we have learned to draw energy into the Dan-tian by concentrating on our breathing and visualizing the bioelectric energy as it follows our breath into our Solar Plexus. following the motion of your mental image.” . meaning “the practice of Qi. In order to cause this to occur according to your desires. it is also naturally circulating bioelectric energy. we can also concentrate on our breathing and direct the bioelectricity in other ways. and the Qi will behave accordingly. we can make this energy flow through our body simply by desiring it to do so. This energy is used to manage bodily functions and to sustain life. The traditional name for the art of causing this energy to flow in accordance with your desires is Qi-Gong. the healthier we are and the more clearly we think. Our emotions are influenced by this bioelectric energy flow as well as by our hormones. A baby can lift its arm as well as a scientist. we don’t need to know how the blood flows in the veins and how the neural energy stimulates the ADP of the muscle fibers to make them contract… all we need to do is “will it” and the arm lifts. With time and practice. For example. you will be able to feel this movement of Qi as if it was a wind flowing through your body. It only has to desire to do so. When we wish to lift an arm. Some people describe this as a feeling that water is flowing from the source of the Qi to wherever they direct it. The calmer and more smoothly this energy flows.
you are drawing energy into you. that energy will flow to wherever you direct it. As you acquire the necessary knowledge and experience in the art of directing this energy flow. proper breathing and the proper use of desire are crucial to effective movement of the Qi. This is similar to wanting to move your arm. Clear visualizations. . In order for this practice to be truly effective. even though the rest of your body remains motionless. because it might disturb your regular bodily functions. Breathing normally is essential to the development of your energy channels and to the use of Qi in its many applications.Breathing will enhance the movement of Qi. and when you breathe out. then you must desire that the bioelectric energy move to the specified location. A step by step approach is necessary to develop your mental ability to control Qi in your body. Visualization alone will also cause Qi to flow. It is important that you follow the basic training process outlined here so you can correctly train your mind to visualize the good energy moving according to your desires. We strongly recommend that you never imagine any chaotic or disordered energy moving through your body. you will be able to feel the effect of your training and understand the different applications of Qi-Gong more quickly and more completely. mentally visualizing the flow. you must breathe properly. perhaps in order to better understand life as a human being. To perceive your life on a spiritual level. your Higher Self may still decide to experiment a bit. murder or lie in another lifetime. and that reaction will eventually rebound back to you (as Karmic justice). you must begin to understand that any action you take. While we must be accepting of whatever trials come to us. you receive an eye for an eye. Instead of a long diatribe. To facilitate that understanding. since a lot of documentation is available on these subjects elsewhere.Karma and Dharma We will not write an extensive essay about Karma and Dharma here. we will summarize the main concepts and give you a daily exercise to practice for your own personal growth. Suffering is not necessary in life. at the same time we must learn to free ourselves from negative Karma. even those you took in a past life. These lessons occur so you become more conscious of the need for compassion in your relationships. You get from life what you put into it. Karma is the result or consequence of your past deeds. but we must accept it when it occurs because it is designed to help us evolve.53 - . Assuming you did not steal. will reproduce itself in your life today in the form of a lesson that may include a bit of suffering. you reap from the field in the fall what you sowed as seed in the spring. Dharma is also a tool for learning and personal evolution. Every action you take will result in a reaction in the Universe. Karma is therefore a tool to teach you whatever life-lessons will most effectively help you evolve. . your Higher Self may create trials and events in your life.
When this is the case you may wish to call upon the Great Justice of the Universe to manifest itself in your life and the lives of those directly around you. and it is you that is in the wrong. also we refer to calling on the Divine Justice that sets experiences in place so that our Karma will be resolved.so that the desired learning can take place. these events are set up in a way that is designed to relieve both of you of the Karma that probably binds you together. to help him relieve his soul of its Karmic burden. We are not only talking about invoking simple human justice here. Then. and this correction might even ruin your own life. sometimes there is no suffering at all. If the (named) aggressor is in the right. and the events will appear to lead to the correction of the situation so that you receive the justice you feel you were denied. In truth. you may have suffered some trial or injustice that seems unbearable to you. If you believe you have suffered injustice at the hands of another. On the outside.54 - . then get ready to experience an unpleasant major lesson. the “target” will probably seem to suffer. you can call upon the Great Justice to set things right. Developing an attitude of loving compassion . High levels of compassion and forgiveness will also transmute your Karma so it is released without you having to face those difficult experiences. in order to free the soul of its burden. Even though you are seeking personal evolution. while the smiling face of your innocent companion mocks you. It might even ruin his/her life. the Great Justice will cause the occurrence of events that will definitely force your aggressor into a lesson. There is usually less suffering in the lessons of Dharma than in the lessons of Karma.
In time. but don’t do this technique until you are comfortable in your heart. if you have not first developed enough compassion. and the people you are having trouble dealing with. you must actively work on forgiving the other parties that you have been angry with. and ask your God to guide you through the steps of your Karmic lessons and your Dharmic path. Perhaps. and its meaning in your life. The key here is to find a balance between accepting the lessons of life on the one hand. As you look down on the problems in your life. Breathe deeply and do not be afraid of experiencing the emotions from your past.55 - . at the same time seeking understanding of the lesson itself. and forgiving and developing compassion as a tool to relieve the pain of your existence on the other hand. you will learn how to call upon the Great Justice to manifest itself. since it will bring up old memories and it will manifest events that may cause you to suffer. and the ability to see your life from a higher perspective. the lesson was not necessary for you to evolve. and the events you are experiencing may have just been the extra weight of your past Karma. . thereby removing the necessity for unpleasant lessons from your life. Compassion can prevent painful lessons from occurring. Replay your life in your mind. it is as if you were a Spirit flying above your human self. then again it will also prevent the lesson from being received. in that event.will elevate your Karma until love dissolves your Karma completely. The practice of compassion consists of identifying the lessons in your life by getting a perspective that is external to your normal point of view. without negative repercussions. from a time when you were less virtuous than you are now.

Find the place with no words. the thoughts that travel do not depend on any form of language or system of communication. In fact it does not speak in any language that your conscious mind understands. Once you find yourself. . and to learn to rely solely on your Spirit. that does not utilize words to communicate. deep inside. you will become aware of everything that comes within your mind’s grasp. you will be able to meet your Higher Self and make contact with the elevated thoughts of that more advanced part of you. This place of “no words” is the place where you truly communicate.109 - .JIN When you practice the JIN Kuji. There is a special part of your thinking process. you must understand that the thoughts that travel are not the thoughts that are phrased in words. To listen without words is to accept your own inability to really understand this truth. If you want to send or receive thoughts with your mind.
RETSU The Kuji-In RESTSU will help you to become aware that the Universe is composed of more than three spatial dimensions.110 - . it is actually the place where your Higher Self is experimenting with the experience of life. you expand your ability to see/perceive these other dimensions. Believe you can do it. Naturally. only your immediate experience. Space-time is where you seem to exist. but be courageous enough to go beyond those limits when you feel able to. To increase your understanding of this greater reality. your senses are necessary in your daily human experience. Meditate to find this place of higher perception. . you must stop believing only what your senses teach you and start listening to and looking beyond the normal space-time continuum you are used to accepting as reality. According to modern quantum physics there are nine spatial dimensions and one time dimension. Develop your self-trust and faith. In fact. for a total of ten space-time dimensions. but your Spirit can easily cross those boundaries. The mysteries of creation will not remain secret forever if you take these steps. but when you start to acknowledge the existence of higher levels of perception. then the state of conscious transcendence. Make peace with your physical limitations. Be intelligent enough to notice your limits so you do not hurt yourself. Seek the state of transcendence. once you understand how. and know that they are not meant to define your existence. The dimensions are partitions delimiting the various worlds of manifestation.
The basis of the ability to manifest and create is the knowledge that the Elements of Creation are absolute spiritual truths in action. When you conquer your fear of the unknown. Water and Earth. Each and every Element of Creation is an aspect of the Consciousness of God.111 - . As we gain knowledge. but most well known falsehood. you will find that it is the hidden doorway to God. and the brightest truths. By developing an attitude of consistent praise. you will not know fear. you can form a relationship with the Elements of Creation. the strange and occult: anything we are uncertain of makes us edgy. The most disturbing fears we suffer are the fears of the indefinite.ZAI The Elemental world is far more than the physical manifestation of Fire. The Elements can be classified as either the Four Elements used in Western Esotericism or the Five Elements commonly used in the Oriental Esoteric System. Human beings are always afraid of the unknown. With faith as your guide. . God chose to manifest in many forms. we get a feeling of control that encourages us to extend a little (very fragile) trust. Wind. at the moment of the birth of the Universe. the mysterious. The unknown will stop being a dark forest filled with monsters. and become a place for you to experience the greatest adventures. These systems of classification are there to aid human understanding. They are to be praised as the origin of Creation and to be admired in their physical manifestation. At the core of creation. at the highest level of vibration of our Universe. but even the most innocent unknown truth is always more difficult for the human mind to consider than the biggest.
as a part of God.ZEN ZEN teaches you to surrender yourself absolutely to the Universe. Now it is time to release that ego. with your part of the God who made everything. looking towards the infinite Universe. and every thought.112 - . It counsels you to let go of everything you have learned: every belief. . Then. you are an infinitesimal speck. God can only be Loved. and allow God to enter your life. Accept everything: every manifestation. God can neither be grasped nor understood. every event. and every creation. as you calmly contemplate the Infinite Universe. When you are completely immersed in the Love of God. Your human ego was a necessary tool that allowed you to learn certain lessons. Standing tall. Put your ego in its place. and to remember your smallness compared with the vast Void that is a creation of the mind of God. you will recognize yourself. you will rejoin with your Divine Self. every person. almost nothing.
.113 - .
In time. When you combine all of your preferred practices with the normal activities of your daily life. you may be overwhelmed with higher thoughts. your True Self. This is the place of “no mind”. the more physical effects will become apparent to you. At that point. Eventually. you make room in your mind for your Spirit. it may be happy at first. By using these profound meditations on a regular basis you will find yourselves maintaining a slightly meditative state during your other daily occupations. until it gets inundated. Conclusion: No mind The objective of any meditative practice is to allow your mind to play with your Spirit. The more complete the meditative method. When you allow your mind to be filled. As you seek these higher thoughts and permit them to fill you. and the more quickly your conscious mind will connect with your Divine Self. . your human mind may wish to shut down to make room for these higher thoughts.114 - . simply allow your mind to shut down and look towards the Divine. your mind will learn to contemplate Spirit. without engaging any cognitive thinking process. you will find peace. Thus. your mind will seek ‘peace of mind’. When you first connect with your Higher Self.
and the different techniques we have studied here… all these exercises allow your mind the freedom to play. with no words. Let your mind play for as long as it wishes to. However. no methods. no techniques. This will only upset and even damage your mind. . causing you to go through the path again until you have all the ingredients that make up the tasteful experience of life. your human mind misses the flavor of that spice. it will want to rest all by itself. the path itself must be completely traveled. with no mind. but a process you must experience. the thoughts. like a well fed baby. and especially. If there is any part of the path that you overlook. All the words. It is not necessary for you to run through all the glens and shadows of the light and dark forests that run along each side of the path.115 - . Then your mind will be ready to peacefully contemplate the thought process of your True Self. Many meditative approaches deny the right of the mind to play. When satisfied. pushing it out of your contemplation of God with force. Do not remove the toys of the mind too quickly.Never underestimate the power of Joy. These approaches want to remove the human mind as soon as possible from the meditative process. The path of enlightenment is not an objective to reach. when it plays. your mind is happy. the methods.
Great Joy is awaiting you at every corner. and compassion. With devotion to yourself. I respectfully give you this knowledge in the hope that you will reach the level of realization you seek. in the end. even when you seem to perceive pain. With Love and Compassion. The path to Illumination lies at the foothills of the experience of Joy. In devotion to the evolution of my fellow humans. God Bless You.116 - . you will attain Joy. Enlightenment. the true practitioners of the most Sacred arts. and. I pray for the Divine to reveal itself to you. tolerance. François Lépine . Love.

The true Kuji-In secret lies within the contemplation of that philosophy which we use to change our attitude about life. Thus. the Nine Hand Seals Technique became ever more popular.History and Variations The Nine Hand Seals Technique and its related teachings have their origins in the Hindu religion where they were initially used by a few groups from the lower castes. where the mantras were translated into Japanese phonetics. Boa Pu Zhi. The original mudras remain the same as those taught in ancient times. where the tradition was passed on to the hermetic and esoteric groups extant there. in his work published around the 3rd century AC. and mandala). not the modern Nine Hand Seals Technique as it exists today. These mystical techniques were a means used by the monks to bring the virtues of the spirit into mundane experience. a wise Chinese master. this historical perspective refers to the origins of the current system. The original form was not as developed as the system we have today. The modern Kuji-In technique is composed of a ritual process comprising the traditional application of the Buddhist “three secrets” (mudra. along with esoteric Buddhism. The original mantras were in Sanskrit. The Buddhist movement later traveled to China. was the first to put the nine hand mudras on paper. The goal of Kuji-In practice is not -9- . with it. the techniques migrated to Japan. They are invocations and celebrations of the various Buddhas. Buddhism came out of Hinduism.

Other Masters are Adepts of the martial arts. an application of noble behavior to our daily lives. according to them. Some Kuji-In practitioners are adepts of meditation. the Kuji-In technique is a way to deepen meditation. the . but the ritual aspect has changed somewhat over time.. control. etc. which is the revelation of truth. By aiming at such a mundane goal. for them. the organization of the root knowledge remains the same. there is no dramatic change in the system. by many different masters.to acquire strength. Since the technique was transmitted orally to many different groups. because the true knowledge of Kuji-In is acquired through revelation. The general public sees the manifestation of these side effects as the most obvious sign of the attainment of mastery and generally (and mistakenly) believes that they are the intent of these practices. Once a revelation occurs. and it requires the mental ability to perceive knowledge that is not studied. The real path of Kuji-In is the quest to know the truth about ourselves.. As long as the ritual practice is applied. A Kuji-In teacher transmits these techniques according to his own experience of its revelations. and. telepathy. Thus. Most people learn the technique simply to attain one or more of these powerful side effects. their limited focus will ultimately result in the attainment of 1/10th of what they could have achieved by practicing Kuji-In to the fullest.10 - . the side effects mentioned earlier will develop rapidly and without effort. It is a contemplation of higher principles. These are only side effects of practicing the rituals and focusing a bit on the governing philosophy.
The application of the principles doesn’t matter. Although you could read the technical details of the practice in any book related to this system. Sorcerers will say that it develops the ability to manifest magical phenomena. each transmitting the technique with their own unique variations. Some Buddhists use a Qi Gong dance along with the 9 syllables. Peasants and farmers might say it is the technique used to attract good fortune and stimulate good crops! Those who speculate on such matters suggest that there might be around 4000 different schools practicing these techniques around the world. while others sit still in meditation and use a longer version of the nine mantra prayers. Although we might also say that a competent teacher has learned the techniques by himself (and that would be partially true). It is crucial to receive the teachings. The revelation of such knowledge is not a conscious process and cannot be logically reasoned from the facts at hand.11 - .Kuji-In techniques build the profound inner powers of the warrior. As long as the Kuji-In philosophy is the proper foundation of the ritual technique. only the insight and guidance of an experienced teacher will bring about an understanding of the attitude that is necessary to stimulate the requisite revelation process in the student. it would shed doubt on the competence of the teacher to suggest that he or she has ONLY learned these techniques by him or herself. the most important factor in this learning is the guidance that the practitioner receives in order to attain the state . In fact. the desired results will be attained. A competent teacher is therefore one who has personally experienced the phenomena of inner revelation repeatedly over a number of years. techniques and philosophy of Kuji-In from a competent teacher.
for he knows about the laws of Karma and responsibility.of revelation. Later on. so the student does not doubt their first experiences. then that teacher is competent. This revealed knowledge is simply validated by the teacher. seek a higher source of knowledge. In order to help you to discern a good teacher from a pretender: A competent Kuji-In teacher must believe in God. (not the lower forms of accomplishment). He will require an exchange for his guidance. When you are certain you have outgrown what a teacher can offer you. He will have a passion for life and he will inspire you. He will emphasize the importance of the philosophy and its contemplation. he might become a teacher himself. but will accept himself to the fullest even in times of personal turbulence. Most of all. A good teacher will not brag about his competence. we recognize a tree from its fruits. if the student has some competence in pedagogy. . He meditates often. and has acquired enough of a deeper understanding of the technique over the years to merit it. and for his students. He will tend to keep his spirituality to himself. If you are having a fruitful experience from learning with a particular teacher. He will generally be in a state of harmony.12 - . and has done so for many years. He will have great selfconfidence without being egotistical.
at the level of the body. It requires the implication of the complete being. It is a technique that has been thought for ages in spiritual temples. from master to disciple. We encourage you to ponder each chapter of this book thoroughly before you go on to the next. Nevertheless. since it provokes a transformation for the holistic healer as well as the martial arts adept. the mind. Although the ritual technique is almost the same as the Japanese Mikkyo tradition. the most important aspect is the personal transformation aspect that was more popular in the Indian and Chinese Buddhist version. with an attitude of acceptance and humility. . Its core substance is about the transformation of the self. this technique addresses itself to a large public. Take your time to practice and contemplate the suggested ways of life.Transformational Approach The kuji-in technique you will learn in this book is the transformational approach. This approach of the kuji-in technique is blunt and direct.13 - . In a sense. and the spirit. only a few people will have the courage and discipline to apply the technique and consider the philosophical aspects.
Before you begin a Kuji-In practice period.14 - . drink a bit of water. With a calm demeanor. at the level you find comfortable.Invocative Technique The Kuji-In techniques as they will be shown to you here should initially be practiced in the invocative manner. the first time you practice Kuji-In. it is recommended that. Allow your body to move to the rhythm you set for your practice. even during the seated portions of practice. without breathing too rapidly. meaning that they will utilize an active and lively call for Spirit to become available to our human consciousness. thus a certain sum of energy is put into each aspect of this practice. while you breathe actively. and begin the “air and energy breathing” technique. stretch your body. You may also shake your hands back and forth while holding the mudra. and then move your hands back to the fixed position in front of you. sit down. . Therefore the invocation is said aloud. you manifest your joy that you are alive and happy. It is essential to perform this technique before every Kuji-In session to ensure it will be maximally effective. (without shouting). Vigorously vocalize the mantras. and while you move.
it is as subtle as air. and it is constantly used by your energetic body.15 - . . visualize the Prana flowing into your nasal cavity. From there it travels to the top of the inside of your cranial bone. It travels along the inside of your nasal cavity and up inside the cranial vault. the air and Prana naturally flow along the correct path. The Prana takes another route. many of us have obstructions that prevent Prana from flowing to its natural destination. and then splitting to flow down either side of your spinal column. The air goes down into your lungs. Unfortunately. This useful energy is called Prana. At the tailbone (coccyx) it continues on to your perineum. . (the tender spot between your anus and sexual organs) where it condenses its flow and enters the base chakra. to the back of your head. it splits and travels down either side of your spine. When the Prana reaches the top of your spinal column. The Air and Energy Breathing Technique There is a lot of free energy circulating in the air and space around you.Breathing in. without effort or concentration on your part. As you inhale. and then flowing up into the inside of your cranial vault as a 2-3” wide stream of white energy. you naturally draw air and Prana into your nose. To clear out these obstructions. When you inhale. it is helpful to use the following visualization in concert with the exercise of air and energy (prana) breathing: . .
your body naturally retains the Prana. Eventually. it continues to travel up inside the cranial bone and along the route we have described. but without strain. with each and every breath. This will help the Prana flow naturally along its designated path and will clear any blockages you may have developed in those channels. For more information on these channels of energy. Practice this conscious visualization along with the breathing. Each time you exhale. It is essential to activate adequate air/Prana circulation throughout your body to get everything working correctly. you may want to do some extra research on the Ida and Pingala channels. The fire in the base chakra flares up like a flame. and does not die down to its original level for some time. where it is absorbed into the base chakra. Fanning the flame at the base charka markedly enhances the Kuji-In awakening process.Whether you are conscious of it or not. Prana travels along at least a part of this path. When Prana flows properly. even after you finish this exercise. depending on the health of your entire energetic system. only air (mostly carbon dioxide) is expelled. even though there is no valve preventing it from being expelled. . As you inhale. to the perineum. every time you inhale air. Thus. the Prana remains in the body and continues to flow naturally without any mental effort on your part. with clarity. it fuels the fire in the base chakra. you will naturally complete the entire Prana cycle without concentrating on it.16 - .
Only God can judge a human being and His judgment is always: I LOVE YOU! . you destroy your own right to live. When you make those kinds of comparisons. be confident and declare your own right to live. or have more right to breathe than others. to be. On the other hand. Stand up. and to feel good about yourself. If you want to achieve true self confidence.17 - . we all give in to the tendency to admit to ourselves that we think we are better than everyone else. preferring apples over cherries. or the color pink to the color blue. or that some people are more entitled to life. you are telling the Universe that you prefer being the victim of your own life events. you must abandon all attempts at comparing the value of human life. Thus. From time to time. do not give yourself permission to act arrogantly.RIN RIN Way of Life You have the right to live. Every time you let yourself believe you do not have the right to live. or to say that you are better than anyone else. If you make such comparisons. to be. you may certainly express your various preferences. Yet. but it is crucial to the development of full self consciousness that you never judge others as less worthy of life than you. to act. you are asserting that there are different levels of the right to live. this erroneous thinking reinforces the negative aspects of your ego.
this practice will lead you to have faith. Eventually.18 - . In fact. By following these techniques. and that you can let go of your fears and worries. but you do have the power of choice. you don’t really have any control over exactly what happens in your life. and to have faith.Once you start trusting yourself. you will also develop the power to manifest events more as you desire them to be. you are never alone and God supports all of your actions. the awareness that God takes care of you every moment. and eventually. Say to yourself. I trust life”. If He did not. “Life takes care of me. you will simply learn to trust life. Faith releases Divine energy into your body and fuels all other spiritual activities. You still won’t have any direct control over the outcome of events in your life. as a human being. practice projecting this trust into life. you would simply cease to be. you will gain the tools to influence the outcome of events in your life. .

KYO Way of Life
To activate the abilities of the KYO level technique, you should contemplate the following facts: - You receive from life what you put into it. - Every action you perform has a consequence. - Everything you do sends out energy that will eventually return - There is no good or evil, only action-reaction. - You are responsible for everything that happens to you. - You are the Master of your life. A person must actively perform good and responsible actions for a long time before the (seemingly) bad luck stops manifesting. There are also consequences that come to you as ‘awkward events’, which are a result of the actions of your subconscious mind. You may believe that you have been good and responsible in your actions; however, bad luck, and disturbing events are not always a punishment for misbehavior or irresponsible action which comes about as a consequence of karmic law. Sometimes these disturbing events are simply the result of the actions of your subconscious mind, which can be triggered into bringing these difficult events into your life when you dwell on the belief that you don’t deserve to live, the belief that you are a bad person, the belief that you do not have value., etc… Rather that perpetuate this thinking and its destructive effects on the subconscious, it is possible to use these experiences as a life transforming tool. You

begin this process when you accept that you are responsible for everything that happens in your life, whether you know it or not. It may be hard to believe but you are the absolute Master of your life. Yet, how can you become powerful if you are continuously sustaining the belief that things in your life are constantly out of your control; that you have no effect on your life circumstances? To come to grips with your true nature, you must begin to struggle with the appearances that create this illusion. That illusion is your physical mask. You must grapple with it. Thus, it would be correct to say that there are events that occur for reasons you don’t understand, and there are certainly energies and events set in motion around you that you are not consciously aware of, but then you are not yet fully conscious, and you must grasp that you are actually the Master of everything that happens to you, whether you KNOW it, or not. You may feel powerless about all of this at the beginning, and that is natural. It is essential to reprogram your thinking so you take responsibility for everything that happens to you. If you do not believe this; if you do not practice this, you will not gain the power to manifest what you truly want. As long as you hold on to the victim-stance programming you are currently using, you will be blaming others or life or circumstances for what manifests in your life. As soon as you realize that your change of mental attitude will ultimately have a positive effect, the temporary setbacks and hindrances can be dealt with, without giving in to self defeat and victim stance.

The 9-Day Kuji-in Meditative Process
Each day for nine straight days, at approximately the same time each day, perform the following ritual using only one Kuji-in step per day: - Active Qi-Gong technique of your choice, 2 minutes. - Air and Energy Breathing technique, 2 minutes. - Daily Kuji-In technique, invocative, 2 minutes. - Daily Kuji-In technique, meditative, 15-20 minutes. - Come back to your conscious awareness and contemplate silently, 2 minutes. The first day, you will only use the RIN technique. The second day, perform RIN only 3 times and then quickly concentrate on the KYO technique. The third day, perform RIN 3 times, then KYO 3 times, then focus on the TOH technique, and so on until, on the ninth day, you will perform each technique 3 times and then focus on the ZEN technique. Perform each technique to the best of your ability. The experienced student may either complete the ritual twice daily, (morning and evening), or you may double the length of time for each step. This 9-day process will initiate a new level of practice and understanding of the entire Kuji-In System. As you practice every nuance of the listening and speaking exercises, you will see your life transform right before your eyes. You will become happier and more fulfilled. When you achieve this level of accomplishment, then, when you speak, only beautiful experiences will occur as a result of what you have said.

The 63-Hour Kuji-in Self-Initiation Process
The ultimate Kuji-In experience is usually passed on to a student in the context of an Initiation which is performed under the guidance of a Master. However, there are many students who do not have direct access to a Master in a Temple, yet who may still desire to have the experience of Initiation. In order to be able to have a genuine Initiation experience, the student must learn how to raise their energy sufficiently to enable them to receive the transformative experience that is a fundamental part of an authentic Kuji-In Initiation: they must experience the phenomena of revelation that cannot be expressed with words. This Initiation experience should not be attempted by any student until the student is thoroughly conversant with the entire Kuji-In system. Attempts to rush such a process will be fruitless. However, for those who have put an earnest effort into learning the steps, this 63 hour process will produce an astonishing amount of energy. Although the Initiation process will most certainly produce the desired transformative effects, this intensive initiatic gauntlet may also manifest a multitude of unusual physical reactions in the student. It should therefore be used only when you honestly feel ready for such an experience. You should terminate the process the moment you feel: too much pain; a loss of eyesight or hearing (even for a moment); troubling visions, or if you have any intensely troubling or unbearably painful experience.
- 101 -
When you begin this process, be absolutely certain that you are in a safe place where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the Initiation. Set up the area where you will be performing the Initiation so that you will not be injured if you fall to the floor. Do not be surprised if you experience a few mild electric shocks and do not give up at the first sign of discomfort. Please understand that everyone has a different experience with the Kuji-In Initiation. In fact, every student has a unique experience with the entire Kuji-In transformative process because of the diversity of the traditions and applications which comprise it. The process is simplicity itself: Practice RIN for 7 hours. This may be accomplished by performing the RIN Kuji one hour each day for seven days, or 3.5 hours for two (2) consecutive days, or continuously for seven (7) hours (all in one day). Once you have completed the RIN Kuji series, you will do the same for KYO, TOH, SHA… until you have completed 63 hours of Kuji-In training in no more than 63 days. In order for this process to be successful, you should not skip even one day of practice during the Self-Initiation. However, if you begin to experience too many uncomfortable physical symptoms, slow the process down to one hour per day. If you find that even that is too hard on you, you are not yet ready for the Initiation and you should return to building up your energy system by using the normal practice. Once you feel that you are better prepared, you may re-start the process a few weeks later.
- 102 -
For each practice period you will perform: - The Active Qi-Gong technique of your choice, 2 minutes. - Air and Energy Breathing technique, 2 minutes. - Kuji-In invocative technique (Length determined by your plan). - Silent contemplation after your practice for the day.

It has been a while now, that we behave the way we do. It has been a long time since the beginning of humanity. From the animal origins of our body, up to the pretentious assertion that we are sentient and knowledgeable of many great secrets, the genetic foundation of our human life still has a lot to do with the way we act, and react. It will take some effort, and comfort, to become aware of all that we are, and consciously take back the mastery of our own experience of life. But we are not alone, and we are not left without help. We firmly hold the tools that will serve us in our quest. With a balance of practical application and self contemplation, we will succeed in remembering who we are, by acknowledging the truth as it is revealed to us from within. The goal of our path is to transform ourselves, starting down from our deepest foundations, into the root of our existence, to free ourselves from our apparent bodily shell and to redefine ourselves as the glorious living experience of the Spirit. As we advance on the path, the transformation looks more like a remembering of what we left behind when we came to be human. We work ceaselessly to sublimate the inner workings of our mind and our body; to accept our human animal being as the beauty of creation, although we thrive to remember our wondrous spiritual origin.
