PTV hires people at two levels one through regular recruitment procedure for appointments covered under PTV regulations and employees are protected with regular increase in salary. Job Posting and Internal Vacancy Notification There is no define procedure for postings on various jobs within the organization but for engineering staff which is in high number the postings are done at Headquarter level in Islamabad. As coaching plays a vital role in an organization so PTV has focused on coaching of its employees for the sake of their (employees) as well as organizations satisfaction. because of which the juniors get the clear direction of carrying out their task as well they can get a lot to learn from their seniors who have been working in PTV and this makes those young employees to move according to the organization culture smoothly. seminars and through foreign hired trainers. The Need for Coaching In PTV As discussed above the need for coaching is a very important factor in an organization where as PTV is also conscious for the fact and where they are really trying hard to allocate their budget in coaching. The process is carried out through workshops.” Unfortunately our Government provides limited budget for the internal training but we had several meetings where we discussed on the budgetary issue for the betterment of our employees as well on the whole for PTV. PTV has a large number of employees and is one of the largest broadcasting channel so for the sustainability and motivation of its employees PTV has designed some courses and also offers some other courses just to fill in the gaps if not fulfilled by one either one of them (courses). It has a proper instructor staff and it also offers refresher courses for the reason to let our employees know that in which direction they are moving and if ever they are getting off the path than they can easily be brought back with our (PTV) expert “COACHES and TRAINERS. the coach aims to stimulate the coachee to uncover innate knowledge so they can achieve a sustainable result. As when we asked about the level of comfort among the senior and junior employees he replied “We at PTV try to live like a family for the sake of promoting knowledge and getting maximum output as we have a lot of competition though we are on the top.On the job counselling is carried out by senior managers of his (employees) department to do his counselling.” Coaching To Improve Performance 16 . The manager briefed us about the methodology of their coaching in PTV. Coaching tends to focus on an existing problem (from which to move away) or a specific outcome that the individual wishes to achieve (move towards).” Coaching Coaching refers to the activity of a coach in developing the abilities of a coachee. The method involved “INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COACHING” In internal coaching the employees of PTV are given training and guidance not only by the PTV academy but even facilitated in the other training academies in Pakistan. to deal with other problems in the future.
