I wish I had a Dollar (inflation) for every time that I have heard . . . “That's not in the Bible.

This short study of the “New Moon” Shabbath will hopefully expand the vision of those seeking the
Truth of Yahuwah found . . . “a little here, a little there”.

Everyone wants to find the Truth in black and white. They want it to be self evident without any doubt
( . . . or without any real study involved, they want it easy). Yah has said that it is the Glory of Kings to
seek out a matter. Elsewhere He has told us to buy the whole field if necessary and get down on all
fours with magnifying glass in hand (my discernment) if we have seen within it a pearl of great price
(or discern that it is there)! It is going to take some time and effort on our parts . . . “Study yourself
approved of Yahuwah”.

Normally, I would go about establishing the truth from it's foundation, but I am going to start with
Paul's words to the Colossians in Chapter 2, verse 16 and 17:

“Let no man judge you therefore in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day, or a new moon, or a
shabbath: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body of Messiah / MessYah”.

In context we have 2 subject matters: 1. your physical intake and 2. the appointed times of Yahuwah.
Focusing on the appointed times Paul starts with the general term, “feast day”. Then He funnels down
to more specifics of “new moon” and “a shabbath day”. If you are rationalizing the statement, you will
ask, ”Is not the shabbath day a feast day of Yah's?” And then you might conclude, “Of course, it is!”
Then perhaps it would be reasonable to conclude that the “new moon” that Paul is referring to is also a
“feast day” of Abba's. And if so, we would have to ponder on the question of what does Abba require
of us in keeping this feast day? So, with this rational in mind we will move to the foundational
writings found as we find them in Abba's instruction manual . . . The Torah of Life.

I am not going to elaborate with great detail as I do not want to do all of the work for the reader.
Instead I will point out the scriptural references and draw attention to what I feel is critical in
establishing the esteem of the New Moon Shabbath.

The first reference in the Torah pertaining to the requirements of observing the New Moons of
Yahuwah's Calendar is found in Numbers Chapter 28. I would encourage you to examine the required
offerings and how there is a foundation of these requirements found in the keeping of the New Moon
Day, starting in verse 11 and continuing to verse 15. The other festival offerings build upon this
foundation. (Please take a look at the number of bullocks, rams and he goats and their accompanying
meal and drink offerings and I think that you will find that Yah has placed the esteem of a Shabbath day
upon the New Moon day.)

David asks Yahuchannon in 1 Samuel chapter 20 to give excuse to King Saul of his impending absence
from sitting at meat with him, in verse 5, because of the New Moon observance. The rest of the story
can be read with more esteem found throughout the chapter. As a matter of fact, the reader will find a
good reasonable witness of observing the visible crescent over the dark/conjunction moon.
In 1 Kings, chapter 4 and specifically in verse 23 we find that it was expected of the children of
Yahuwah to go and visit the “man of Elohim” on the “new moon” and on the “shabbath”. Now,
according to this account it would have been quite a journey requiring an ass be saddled for the mother
of the deceased young boy to go to Elisha, in this account. If one were to go to the man of Elohim on
the new moons and on the shabbaths we can deduce that we would be leaving our regular routines
(jobs, gardens, homes, etc.) in lieu of being in the presence of Yahuwah through his representative at
the time . . . a prophet/priest. Obviously , we would not be attending to our income generating
employment through reasoning of the matter.

Another account which builds upon this theme of “no work shall be done in them” is found in the
prophecy of the millennium temple found in Ezekiel chapter 46. Starting from verse 1 we are told that
“In this manner says the sovereign Yahuwah: The gate of the inner court that looks toward the east
shall be shut the six working days; but on the shabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the
new moon it shall be opened”. Please continue to read the rest of the vision of what shall be and keep
in mind that Yahuwah does not change. That gate will be opened to all of the pilgrims which will have
left their regular routines to appear before The King, Yahushua. They will have left their regular
employment to make the journey to see the Man of Elohim. The gate will not be open during the six
working days! Again, through deductive reasoning (“Come let us reason together . . . “) we can
conclude that we will not be at work on those days. I am not intending to belittle the reader in any way,
but does this make any sense yet? Please read the entire context of the vision of this soon in coming
House of Yahuwah and what it will be like.

I would like to regress back to the question of whether or not the New Moon days are Feast days or not.
In Psalm 81 and in verse 3 we are told to “Blow the trumpet at the new moon.. At the full moon, on our
feast-day”. I believe that this would be another strong witness of Abba's that points out His esteem of
the New Moon days.

Let's go to Isaiah/YesheYahu for some more familiar explanatives from Abba:

Isa 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; new moon and shabbath,
the calling of assemblies, - I cannot away with iniquity and the solemn meeting.

Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one shabbath to
another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith Yahuwah.

These two accounts, again, show us how Yahuwah esteems the New Moon in comparison to His
shabbaths and solemn meetings. Of course, I encourage the reader to read the accounts in their
context. I will leave the rest of the pondering to the reader . . .

The final example I would like to present is the account found in Amos chapter 8:

Amo 8:5 saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the shabbath, that we
may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and dealing falsely with balances of
deceit;

The standard explanation is that this new moon day that is being spoken to is actually The Feast of
Trumpets / Yom Teruah. We would then expect that it would be a shabbath day and would explain
why it is being presented as a day of rest which the prophecy states is being defiled by His people. My
question is, “Where does it state that it is Yom Teruah???” If it does not lend anywhere in the text that
it is Yom Teruah, where is the liberty to state that it is so??? Could it be an example of the wolves
twisting the Word of Yahuwah to their destruction and of the sheep that they are leading, as well???
Why are we not more like the Berean's and testing everything that is being force fed by the shepherds
of Israel? Why do we not tend to seek out sitting at the feet of Yahushua, himself, desiring him to lead
us into all truth through Yah's Ruach?

I want to encourage anyone reading this to believe in the words penned by the Ruach ha Chodesh
through the servant John / Yahuchannon in the following scripture:

1Jn 2:24 As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard
from the beginning abide in you, you also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.
1Jn 2:25 And this is the promise which he promised us, even the life eternal.
1Jn 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that would lead you astray.
1Jn 2:27 And as for you, the anointing which you received of him abides in you, and you need not that
any one teach you; but as his anointing teaches you; concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie,
and even as it taught you, you abide in him.
1Jn 2:28 And now, my little children, abide in him; that, if he shall be manifested, we may have
boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
1Jn 2:29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one also that does righteousness is
begotten of him.

Sit at the Son's feet . . . lest he be angry.
