Module Title: Advanced Measuring Systems Code: ENGE808

Credit: 15
Semester 1- 2016

Time: Monday 3 PM-6PM.

Room: WH314

Purpose: The purpose of this module is to provide the students with an advanced
theoretical and experimental knowledge in measuring systems and instrumentation. The
module emphasises both principles of operation and analysis and design techniques for
measurement systems of a mechanical and an electromechanical nature. Various
measuring techniques will be discussed including but are not limited to Laser, ultrasound
and computer aided instrumentations. Some applications for biomedical measurements
will be included. Students with various engineering backgrounds (Mechanical, Electrical,
Electronics, Chemical and Biomedical) are welcome to the class.
