NAHJ hosts its premier fundraiser in March or April in New York City to benefit the Rubén Salazar Scholarship Fund and Educational Programs. Since the fund’s inception in 1986, NAHJ has awarded more than $1.6 million to more than 600 students pursing degrees in journalism. In 2010 we changed the format of the event from a sit-down dinner to a starstudded reception. This will help us ensure that we can offer more scholarships by reducing the costs associated with the event.
