New Zealand Scholarship guidelines:

1. You may apply to the institution for funding of up to $1,000 per academic year for additional
academic, study or skills tutoring.
2. Additional tutoring is to be approved by institutions, subject to:
• the institution determining it necessary
• you already making use of tutorials and support provided free of charge by the institution or other
on-campus providers, but requiring additional tuition and support.
3. You may use the additional tutoring allowance for additional one-on-one tutoring in editing,
proofreading, and writing, as well as for proofreading services.
4. Additional tutoring allowance does not accumulate or be brought forward for the next academic year.

New Zealand Scholarship tutoring and proofreading process:

1. It is the scholar’s responsibility to make all arrangements for any additional tutoring or proofreading
services. Scholars can approach their lecturers, supervisors, course coordinators, faculty advisers, or
Tuākana mentors for recommendations. We have also provided a list of proof-readers below who
regularly work with NZ scholars.

3. Guidelines for contacting proofreaders:


• Please only contact one proof-reader at a time.
• Give as much notice as possible, even if your first draft isn’t completed yet.
• Provide the following details when making a request:
- Name
- Student ID
- Word count
- Date of submission to proof-reader
- Assignment/thesis deadline
• Attach your first draft to the email, if completed.
• Ensure that invoices are paid within 10 DAYS.
