 ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
The State Government of Tamil Nadu established the
Anna University of Technology Coimbatore by an Act of
Legislation in February 2007. Anna University of
Technology Coimbatore has 3 Govt. Engg Colleges,
2 Government Aided Engg. Colleges and about 150 Self
Financing Engg. Colleges & 26 Standalone institutions
under its fold. It offers Higher Education in Engg,
Technology, Management and Allied Sciences relevant to
the current and projected needs of the society. The
University offers 55 UG courses, 61 PG courses, Ph.D
and M.Tech (By Research) programmes in various engg.
disciplines. It is the first of its kind offering M.Tech in
Nano Technology.
Anna University of Technology Coimbatore has a centre
for Intellectual Property Rights. The aim of the centre is
to create and promote IPR activities in India as well as
aboard to conduct various kind of research works in IPR
related areas with the support of various sponsoring
agencies viz., the Department of Information Technology,
New Delhi, Department of Science and Technology, New
Delhi, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New
Delhi and Patent Office, Chennai.
Anna University of Technology Coimbatore effectively
implemented e-governance in all its activities with respect
to academic, research and administration to cater to the
needs of the students. The University is proposing to
establish a Research Park to establish a Research Park to
provide opportunities to research scholars and the faculty
to equip them with state-of-the-art facilities in all
branches of Engineering and Technology. The University
