Chapter 5; Mac introduces Briana to the Far Horizon Crew Walking up to the hotel counter the concierge greets Mac with a pleasant smile. “How may I help you sir?” “Yes I’m in need of some clothing for my companion and was wondering if you have a boutique here?” The concierge smiles knowingly at me. “Yes we do, Mr. McGuire. If you will please be so kind as to follow me this way?” The concierge turns and walks towards the clothes boutique. Following the concierge Mac can’t help but think about all of the awful things Briana could do or is planning on doing to make his life a living hell for not bonding with her. ‘She kept saying I can stop. She said it enough times I thought she wanted me to stop....I’m a fucking idiot, plain an simple. Come hell or high water I have to prove to her I keep my word. She’s probably looking out the window right now to see if I’m running for the Shuttleport...Hell she’s probably going through my bag right now setting an ambush with the stuff in my pack. No doubt she’d be temped to set the
anti-personnel mine in my pack on the door and wait somewhere she can enjoy the fireworks. No, she’d wait for me to take on the Major and then finish off whoever survives....Knock it off asshole, your gonna drive yourself nuts thinking about all the horrible What If scenarios she could use to waste your dumb ass. Not that you don’t deserve it you stupid dipshit!’ Shaking the thought from his mind as he follows the concierge into the boutique. Mac begins searching through the available clothing selections not happy with what he’s finding. ‘They don’t have a single item that’ll work for Briana.....Oh hello gorgeous! You’ll do just fine.’ “This is perfect!” The concierge smiles happily that Mac has found something he likes. “Would you like that charged to your room?” “Yes, please do. Oh and we had....a little accident in the suite...the bathroom needs to be...repaired...Sorry.” Mac smiles apologetically and signs the hotel padd authorizing the cost of the ensemble and the repairs to be charged to his suite. The concierge smiles and assures Mac she will find him a new suite for him and Briana. Mac starts to make his way back to the room where Briana waits. His stomach slowly knotting in dread of what might be waiting for him on the other side of the door. “Okay, Fuzzy, I need to do some stretching and wake up, especially if I’m going to behave myself when I go out in public.” I place him on the nearby couch, and then move into another yoga position, hearing my bones snap a little. ‘I’m not in pain, that actually feels good.’ I slowly yet steadily curl my body in and move into the next position. ‘Is there someone outside?’ I listen and sniff, ‘Hmm, nothing to worry about.’ I move into the cat stretch position, and steadily move into the threading the needle pose. I rise up enough to put my arm underneath me, and with palm face up. I inhale and exhale gently rotating my upper back to stretch the arm further underneath me. I keep breathing, to the count of fifteen, and then slowly move the arm back, and switch to my other side.
Approaching the door, Mac stops and takes a long slow deep breath and gingerly tests the carpet in front of the room for pressure plates. ‘Nothing...Well, no guts no glory...’ Mac slots the room key and waits for the door to open, envisioning Briana standing on the other side with a phaser aimed at his chest. Now it’s time for the plank. Giggling aloud, I smell Mac outside the door. And...I can feel him, he’s nervous? ‘He should be.’ I place my hands to my sides, and rise myself into a push-up posture, and then I turn my body slightly to the right, moving my arm up and stretching it out to it’s full extension, allowing my eyes to focus on the hand. This position is the best for mind and body focus. Holding this position for the count of twenty-five, I lower my arm down, and switch to the left side. Cautiously entering the room Mac looks in every direction a shot could come from. “Briana...Ma’am? I’m back...” “Ma’am? Are we back to that then? I’m over here by the patio stretching.” Adding, “Sergeant.” ‘She used my rank...shit! not good. Why the hell did I call her Ma’am? I’m such a dumb ass!’ “Mac, Sergeant, whatever. I need some help, to work this damn kink out of my lower back. You don’t even have to touch me.” Walking towards where Briana is stretching. “Okay, what do you need me to do?” ‘Besides slit my throat?’ Smirking at his scent, I can smell his nervousness. “Bend over, Hardass. I need to lie back across your back. I need my back stretched. And you should know how to do that.” “Yes, I know how to stretch a back to work out the kinks. I’ve studied therapeutic massage.” Mac kneels down and positions himself for Briana.
“You don’t have to hold my hands, I can reach up and hold onto your shoulders. Therapeutic massage, the surprises never seem to end with you.” I know I sound a little cold, even bitchy, I try to warm my voice before replying, “Don’t worry, you don’t need to massage me, Sergeant.” ‘Yeah, twist the knife why don’t you....this is also an ideal position for me to be beheaded too...’ ‘I wish I could read his thoughts, I bet I’d be laughing my ass off. His scent is getting to the predator deep within me.’ Mac takes a deep breath and tries to clear his mind and relax, setting his hands flat against the floor. I step around to his backside, and position myself facing away from him, and then I lean back onto his back, moving my arms above me, gently and softly holding onto his shoulders. I rise my legs off the ground and stretch. “This would be optimal, Sergeant, if you could stand up with me laying on your back, and then stretch over. I’m not getting the effect I need.” “Alright...” Mac shifts and starts to stand up keeping his balance with Briana on his back and stretching in the direction she’s indicated, feeling his own back popping like a sheet of bubble wrap. “If you want, I... we can reverse and I can pop your back, oh...guess you just did. So you came back. Was there a shop down in the lobby, I can go to. I’ll just add it to the bill, Psi Corp is good for things.” “I found an outfit that you should like and don’t worry about the cost of it or the repairs to the room. It’s been taken care of.” “Really, Psi Corp is responsible for paying for me, and any repairs, I incur. Artemis knows what I’m capable of, and I think she enjoys reading the damage reports
as well. An outfit, huh? Where is it?” I look around the room. “We can stop the stretching now, if you want?” I roll my legs up and over his head, pushing off gently, I land on my feet in front of him. ‘Flexibility and stamina, damn he blew it...’ As Briana rolls off of Mac, he stands up quickly a snarl on his face and a growl rumbling up from his chest. “You know what really chaps my ass about this whole situation is? You kept saying I can stop at anytime...you kept repeating it so many times I thought YOU wanted me to stop! SO I DID! And now I’m being implicated as the bad guy when I was doing what I THOUGHT you wanted me to do! I’m willing to go all the way for you.....HELL I’m willing to remove every obstacle from your path here.” Stepping closer to Briana. I’m willing to kill for you and if need be and I sure as hell hope it doesn’t come to that ....die for you! I love you Briana Storm! I don’t care what you are, I don’t care that you’re a SUB! I love you and I’m willing to do what ever it takes to prove that to you whether you believe me or not!” I step forward, and before Mac can react, I’ve pounced on him, knocking him to the ground. And straddling him, I lean forward, growling low in my chest, baring my fangs. “Don’t growl at me, unless you mean it. And I was only concerned that you’d regret what...that...ARRRGH! You big, annoying, frustrating,... I love you too, Mac. But let it be known, I DIDN’T want to stop. You know, I’ve taken shots for your ass, in battle before. I’ll do it again, I’d die for you too, if needed. But not before I take every single bitch and bastard out first! And as to whether I believe you or not...open your mind to me, let me see how you see me.” “I wish I could right now, but I don’t know how. It only happens at night when I’m resting” “You can control it, Mac. Relax your mind, as if you’re going to sleep then. Will your shields down. I’ll open my thoughts to you, to make it even for you.” Mac closes his eyes and starts to slow his breathing, slowly calming down and allowing his mind to relax thinking of the walls in his mind coming down.
I feel his defense’s being lowered, “Yes, there you go...and here I come. In your mind that is.” I giggle softly and lean down, kissing his neck, while gently entering his mind, opening my mind to him. A shiver courses through his body as Briana’s lips touch his neck. ‘I feel a warm presence in my mind...Is that you Bri?’ ‘Yes, Mac, it’s me. Breathe, I won’t hurt you, you’re not fighting this, and if you start, I’ll leave. I don’t want to cause you any pain.’ ‘I won’t fight you.’ Mac relaxes further under Briana’s gentle touch. ‘Good, thank you,’ I send him some warm thoughts, how he makes me feel, and then I do start looking for how he sees me. Images of Briana flow through his head, images of her angry, happy, annoyed at something Mac did or didn’t do, Her posterior sticking out of an access tube she started crawling into. This last image makes him laugh. ‘I feel you giggling at me. My fuzzy ass, hum? And is that how you see me? Mostly angry or annoyed. Oh right....you only associated with me on duty. And you never came to the Christmas party. Forrest excused you. You missed me chasing a light, or kissing me under the mistletoe.’ Sending him the images of me, chasing the light on the walls, and standing with Malcolm under the mistletoe. ‘Never mind that last image. Sorry.’ Mac’s mind shifts to other memories. Memories of war torn landscapes, urban warfare where he and other MACOs hunker down to avoid enemy fire as they advance from building to building. ‘Same as me...change the thoughts, Mac. We don’t want to be there, come back to the present my love. I’m in your arms, feel me.’ I move from being close to his neck, and press my lips to his, purring as I kiss him. Images of Briana flow through Mac’s mind, images of her in his arms, sleeping
peacefully as he watches her sleep, smiling at the little trilling noise she makes when she’s asleep. ‘You watched me sleep? And you like my purrs.’ Purrs more for Mac. ‘Yes I’ve watched you sleep. You’re beautiful.’ ‘Hmm, I think for now, you’re forgiven. But that depends on what outfit you bought me to wear, if it has a leash and collar, I’m tossing you off the balcony.’ ‘I’ll land on my feet. Besides I’ll be wearing the collar.’ ‘Smart ass. Really, can I put it on you?’ I can’t help the mental laughter at the image of collaring his monster, and pulling him around by a leash. Images of Briana wearing a naughty cowgirl outfit as she rides his giant bucking cock. ‘Laughter fills Mac’s mind at the image.’ ‘Good, you’re laughing in here. I thought it was dark and dangerous. And if I’m wearing that outfit, you are in big trouble today Mister. I am not about to go yeehaw!’ ‘The outfits in the parcel on the bed. You did go SQUEE though.’ ‘When did I go Squee? Only in your fantasies.’ I giggle out loud. ‘ Smiles ’ ‘Ready for me to let you up? I should see what you bought me, and it better not have fringe.’ ‘See for yourself.’ ‘Okay then, want me to leave? Or do you want to see what it’s like, a connection between the two of us? I can only do this with your permission, once you let me in,
I’m in.’ I start to get up off Mac, but not breaking our connection. I see a package on the bed, and walk over to retrieve and open it. Curiosity as to what he wants to see me in, has me nervous. I am not wearing a cowgirl outfit, or a maid’s outfit. ‘You’re in....what about a nurses uniform?’ ‘Very well, then we stay bridged for now, technically we’re engaged.’ I laugh at the expression on his face at that thought. ‘What? A nurse’s uniform. Stereotype much there? No! I will put on my Psi Corp Instructor’s uniform for you though.’ ‘I blame my friend Takashi and all those weird underground cartoons he likes to watch. And, yes I heard we’re engaged. I’m happy.’ ‘Oh, you should’ve seen your face, and if you weren’t already on your back, you probably would be. And it’s rude to talk like this when other’s are present. But if you need to, you only have to think my name and I’ll hear you.’ ‘It’s more comfortable this way. Just say your name mentally, gotcha’ ‘Really? You are full of surprises Mac. And yes, just think Briana really loud in your head, pretend I’m annoying you again.’ Giggling. I slice the package open with one of my nails, and I pull the outfit out. “Nice... leather corset, and...leather bikini bottoms, now this outfit, I’ll wear. Good taste, Mac.” I start to pull the bikini bottoms on, ‘Great, no tail escape, again.’ I reach, and slice a small hole in the leather for my tail to go through. I look at Mac, laying on the floor just watching me. ‘Interesting view?’ Giggling I move to put the top on. Getting up and crawling over on his knees, Mac wraps his arms around Briana’s legs pushing her onto the bed as he playfully bites her butt. “Oh. Help me with this top, please. The string is....grrr...knotted, here and here.” I show him the knots, and then sit down on the bed. Standing up Mac looks at where the cords are tangled and with fast dexterous hands he unlaces and then re-laces the corset for Briana tightening it up just
enough so she’s not squashed in it but comfortable. “Thank you.” I reach in and re-adjust the girls so that they aren’t squashed or bulging over to much, just enough. “So what are you wearing, then?” “I have a pair of leather pants, my boots, and few other items in my bag. And they’re not my women. Considering the lax need of clothing in this area, Gia will no doubt be wearing little to nothing at all. Stevie I have no idea, she’ll more than likely be topless wearing her boots and cowgirl hat, and Linna will no doubt be wearing something that fits her like a second skin and crawls up her butt nearly splitting her in two. “Gia’s an Orion, they prefer in my observation to be as close as possible to nude, and Stevie....hm? ‘I won’t kill them, wound them if they touch him.’ Oh I am definitely not wearing a cowgirl outfit ever then!” I laugh at the image of the Romulan being in split in two. “No, please don’t kill them. Other than that use your imagination.” “Fine. No killing, maiming them is an option?” I smirk at him. “Nothing permanent if you can avoid it. Of course if Angus is there then there won’t be any trouble other than dirty looks.” “Oh goodie then, I can handle dirty looks.” ‘Send them burning fire and causing them a migraine, that’s not permanent.’ Walks over to his pack and start to rummage through it removing Fuzzball who was sleeping and now mewling angrily at being woken. “He likes you by the way. Fuzzy that is. He was worried. Let me know if you ever want to feel him. I don’t think you’d be able to hear his thoughts.” “I like him to. I think it’d be interesting but lets stick with one head at a time for now?”
“Right. No rushing the non-telepath. This is good for me too, I will be instructing newbies on controlling their abilities.” “Yes please, no rushing the greenhorn.” “I won’t.” Mac pulls out a pair of leather pants, shaking them out and examines them, He then pulls out a small sack and opens it up pulling out a leather Harness and a thick heavy leather collar with a single large ring on the front of it and tosses them on the bed and begins to undress sitting down on the bed Mac pulls off his boots and slips off his pants. Taking the opportunity to stretch out before donning his costume, Mac places his feet together and bends over at the waist, wrapping his arms around his legs folding himself. He then sits on the floor are spreads his legs out to almost a 90 degree angle alternating from left to right as he continues stretching till all the kinks are worked out. I watch him doing his exercises and marvel at his flexibility too. ‘Is that you popping? And um, what is the collar for?’ I can’t help but be wary, damn Black and his shock collar. ‘Chuckling, Yep every snap, crackle, and groan in me.’ Rolling backwards into a handstand and holding steady for a moment, Mac slowly lowers his legs till his feet touch the floor and he can stand up straight. “Hm, yoga? I never would’ve guessed. Nice moves. I do the same one to get the best stretch.” “Wing Chun actually.” “Oh. A practice I don’t know of. Interesting.”
“It’s an old Chinese form of Martial Arts. From it many different styles were born. The collar and the harness were Presents from the girls who said it was so no one else could have me. I told them No way in hells was I going to wear them. So the sight of me with you wearing these will royally chap their asses because they’ll think you got me to wear what they couldn’t. Your gonna put your stamp on me, marking me as Yours. But if you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know, I’d love to hear them.” “Hm? I sure as hell don’t want you to wear them then. It might back-fire on you. And I’m not allowed to do any permanent damage, remember? However, if you want to wear something to be marked as mine. I have an idea.” Mac Listens to Briana intently. “It doesn’t involve feathers does it?” “Um, no why? You allergic to them too?” “Nah, they just make me itch.” “Oh. No, where did I place my badge?” Looking around the bed for the Psi Corp badge. Mac tosses the harness and collar in the waste bin and then scratches himself on the leg. I smile watching him throwing his presents away, I’d really hate to have to misbehave and slice the girlie's up, not a good way to make a good impression on his brother. “Oh there it is. Next to your leg, can you hand it here, please?” Looks down, picks up the badge and hands it to Briana. “Here you go.” I take the badge from him, “Thank you.” I extend one of my claws, and start to cut the sword from the Psi Corp emblem. I will regret not wearing my badge later, but I have a spare at the house. And I would rather do this with it. I try to think... the thoughts that the Oracle has predicted I have, and nothing. So time to do this
the old fashioned way. I take the sword and placing it between my thumb and middle finger, I apply pressure, and it starts to bend. Applying more pressure with my other hand on top of this one, it bends easier. Finally getting it into a ring like shape, I start to think, ‘He won’t wear a ring....’ but there’s not enough metal or a torch to melt it to stretch it out into a bracelet. Mac watches what Briana is doing to the badge with interest. “You’re trying to roll it into a ring?” “Mm hum. Would you wear it?” “Sure. I’d wear it.” “You said your brother’s name was Angus, and your last name is McGuire, Celtic ties in your family?” “No, it’s McGee. We came for the same test batch.” Giggling, “Not his last name, yours. Any who, we’ll pretend it is Celtic.” I take my claw, and start slicing into the ring, making it look like a Celtic knotted design. “I don’t know...probably. From what I’ve learned of the project they took the so called finest genetic samples in the Empire and then built us from that.” “Can I ask? Was this part of Dr. Soong’s project?” I look at my handiwork, not my best, but with the lack of tools, it’s still pretty damn good. Now to polish it. “Dr. Arik Soong? Yes.” “Mm, yet another thing we appear to have in common, Mac. The Denobulian’s referenced his papers, when doing their Ki’Taran/Terran Experiments. Can you hand me your tee-shirt.” Mac hands Briana his shirt, still watching her work with interest.
“Thank you.” I take the shirt, and polish the platinum ring. ‘Thank goodness they didn’t skimp on my badge, real platinum, and real gold.’ Now to give it the heart...I take my nail, and carefully slice open my hand to bleed on it. And then I lick my wound, sealing it with my saliva. And this time I rub the ring with a blanket, before taking the tee-shirt to polish it again. “You’re welcome. Question. If I’m going to be working for you here, does that mean I’ll be transferred to Psi Corp? And ....never mind I understand now.” “No. You’ll be working for me. I work for Psi Corp. But if you’re in hiding then no need to call you to their attention, right?” Mac chuckles at the thought of some of his Hate Parade freaking out when they discover his switching sides. “Angus knows I’m alive and I have no doubt he’s already reported my condition to Brigadier General Cartwright.” “Cartwright, huh? I met him once. He was actually nice to me. Turned down Black’s offer. Wonder if he’d work with us on this?” “That sounds like Kill’em All Cartwright. He hates Black’s guts and didn’t fall for the bait when he waved you under his nose.” “I like him even more now! And so, you can see if you like this or not? It should fit you though.” I hand Mac the Celtic designed platinum ring. ‘He’s not going to wear it, and if he does, it’s only to humor me.’ Mac takes the ring and inspects Briana’s work appreciatively before slipping it onto his middle finger and then clenches his fist to get a feel for it’s comfort. “Very nice work, I like it. Thank you!” “I think it’s traditional to kiss the ring-maker. I could be wrong though?” I laugh a little.
Mac spins up off of the bed sweeping Briana up into his arms and lays her down on the bed as he kisses her. “Mmph!” I kiss him back. ‘You really like it then?’ ‘I love it Bri!’ ‘I love you, Mac.’ And then I send him my thoughts to prove it. ‘I love you to, Bri.’ Mac returns images of his thoughts for her. ‘Mmm nice. Thank you. So ready to go, and see your friends? I don’t have my badge, but seriously, I’m the only hybrid. I wonder if I did stick the spare in my bag. And the ring...it looks good on you.’ ‘No, but we may as well get this over with now rather than later. Here I have one in my bag.’ ‘Hm? A badge, okay, thank you. Just need to put the Psi Corp emblem on it. They, the authorities here do not always recognize the Empire, but damn they do recognize Psi Corp.’ Mac reluctantly breaks his kiss with Briana and walks back to his pack and starts searching through the side pockets till he finds the badge. “Here you go.” “Thank you. It’s a Psi Corp badge, do I want to know? And any adhesive in that wonder bag of yours? ” I get up and stretch. “This outfit feels great, thank you by the way.” “I’ll tell you if you really want to know.” Looks into the pack. “I have some right here.” Pulling out a small tube and tossing it to Briana. “Your welcome, I’m glad you liked the outfit.” Catches the tube, and opens it, putting a small dab on the badge and placing her rank pips on it while applying pressure. “Hopefully you don’t want this badge back.
Ain’t going to happen. And yes, I do want to know, how did you manage to acquire one of our badges?” I sit and stare at the Psi Corp emblem I cut out from the other badge, ‘I wonder if the Oracle foresaw this in my life, she has been known to be wrong before, not often, but...’ I giggle and then attach the badge to the hip of my bikini. ‘Don’t want to detract from the girls.’ I laugh out loud now. “Nah, keep it. I can always kill another Psi Op for one if I want.” Mac watches appreciatively as Briana attaches the badge to the hip of her leather panties. “Oh from your mission on Mallus3, then, right?” I shiver at his mention of killing another Psi Op, I know he doesn’t mean me, any more. But...I can’t allow him to do that. “Correct. That belonged to Lt Cmdr Hecate’s sweetie. She actually died the quickest of them all. She never felt a thing... sorry, I didn’t mean to go into details.” “Well, she was never a Psi to begin with, so now it’s back on someone that has the authority to wear it. It’s fine, Mac. But if I can’t permanently hurt your friends, then you can’t kill another Psi Op. I am...not going to turn you in, for the murder of Hecate and her team, she was sloppy and deserved what she got.” I smile at him. “So are you sufficiently marked then? Or should I give you a Ki’Taran hickey too?” “Alright fair enough.” Mac smiles back. “I should be, unless you want to brand your name on my ass?” Laughing out loud. “Hmm, don’t tempt me. So am I branded as well?” I slowly turn around in a circle for his inspection. The monster in Mac’s pants twitches approvingly, “You look lovely.” ‘Hmm, you smell...uh...interested.’ “Thank you, Mac. Hopefully I don’t embarrass you in front of your friends. I promise no pouncing, no slicing, and no kicking. Although, I don’t promise I won’t scratch them, if they try anything with you, I don’t like. Hugging is fine, any ass-grabbing or crotch-grabbing, and I leave them
with scars!” “Well you can pounce on me if you like. No, I won’t allow them to do any of that and I doubt they’ll try anything here. They’d be stupid to do so. Angus would keelhaul them if they did. General Cartwright wants all his Ops to keep low key. No fighting, fooling around, or shenanigans unless it can’t be avoided as he puts it.” “I can agree to pounce on you. My favorite hobby now.” I smile and purr. “Um you do know, being with me, might not be low-key.” “I’m a special case in his eyes. He lets me do as I please till he has a need for me. besides I keep a low profile as it is. I’m not worried about being with you. Only without you.” “Hm, sounds like Artemis and I. She does allow me to do things no one else seems to get away with. Hera is also lenient where I’m concerned. Black was the only one that seemed to.... Never mind. Oh. I don’t want to be without you, either. Funny how a short while ago, on the ship, I thought you wanted to shove me out my airlock.” Mac hugs Briana close stroking her hair tenderly. “I thought you wanted to do the same to me as well.” “Only when you really really really, yes, really frustrated me to no end.” “Wasn’t that on a regular basis? I remember that one time you were so mad at me, I thought you could pull coffin nails out of a plank with your teeth when I interrupted you and Major Reed in the armory. Your face was so red I was sure you were going to pop a vessel.” “You know, come to think of it, it was. I think you really need to convince me you’re not the same annoying, frustrating, person you were on the ship. And oh that...um. We were discussing something, and...can we change the subject?”
“...sorry didn’t mean to dredge that up. It’s just your reaction had me worried that day....yeah lets...sorry.” ‘Mac your a schmuck!’ “It’s fine. And yeah, I have a feral side that I keep in check. You, well no one, not even Malcolm saw that side of me. It’s in here, if you need to see what I’m fully capable of,” I reach up and tap the side of my head. “ I’m sure it’s as mean as my dark side, so there’s no sense in comparing that part of ourselves.” “Sounds good to me. On that device that connects the multi-verses, I read a funny, Come to the Dark side we have cookies. That always makes me giggle.” “...I could go for some cookies right now. I bake a killer chocolate chip cookie.” “Me too, and some coffee. Hm? To bad my house is occupied, I have a big kitchen with all sorts of appliances that you probably know how to use. I don’t cook. I tried, and almost poisoned Malcolm. Poor guy ate the meal though.” “Gimme all the dossier info on this vermin infesting your house and I’ll remove it for you sharpish.” “Well, he’s Major Malcolm Reed,” laughing, “Although as I previously said, not the one you know. He’s from another one of those Damn multi-verse’s, and apparently it’s meaner then ours. So we’ll need to think on how to approach this vermin. A sneak attack, he’s used to those. Coming at him from the front, might actually surprise him more.” “If he’s as bad as you say he is , then I’ll put him under surveillance first and figure out his patterns. See what makes him tick.” “I’m not going back into that house, while he’s there. I’ll sleep on the beach with the crabs.” “Too bad my boat has been destroyed or else I’d move you onto it.”
“What’s wrong with it? I do have an engineering degree. Oh right....that’s new.” I laugh. “That’s Dr. Storm too.” “It’s in the report I showed on the destruction of the Enterprise. My boat was damaged to the point of not even worth repairing.” I can’t help but think about all the creds I’ve dumped into fixing it up and how much work was left on it... and its all shot to hell now.’ “But do you want it repaired?” “Of course I want it repaired! I just can’t afford it right now. Even with the handsome sum I can draw on, there’s just no way in hell I could pull it off. not by myself that is.” “I didn’t ask if you could afford it. I asked if you wanted it repaired?” “I had planned on having Angus scrap it and have him transfer the creds to my account from scrapping it.” “Why? I can have it repaired.” “Are you sure? Here take a look at the damage estimate and see if it’s worth salvaging.” “It’s your ship, right? Do you want it scrapped? Or do you want it fixed? I don’t care what the cost is. I have engineer’s here that will fix it for me.” “Of course I want it fixed. I have a lot of good memories invested in that boat.. And it’s an original design. No other Vessel can traverse from a pleasure yacht to space craft.” “Just answer me this, have you ever had sex in it with anyone else? I’ll still fix it for you, but I won’t be with you in it.”
Mac blinks at the question ‘What that got to do with anything?’. “No! I haven’t had sex with anyone in it, on it, or even around it!. It’s all the work I’ve put in to it that I’ve enjoyed.” “Calm down, it was a valid question. And most men, don’t want to keep a ship unless there is a sentimental value to it. So I was wondering about your sentimental value.” I know it is, you mentioned earlier about building something lasting. That boat is my attempt at building something lasting as well as being therapeutic.” “That I understand. To build something with your own hands, blood, sweat and tears.” “ Besides the only other people who’ve been on it have been you, my brother Angus, and a couple others. And your lucky I let you back aboard her after you threaten to take a cutting laser to it on top of all the times you threaten to blow it up.” “When was I on your ship? Wait a second, that...in the shuttle bay, that’s your ship?” “Yes, it is...was...will soon be again...hopefully” “If you didn’t want it, I would scrap it for you and Angus. A few charges here and there. I’m joking Mac. I’ll even help fix it for you.” Mac picks Briana up and attempts to put her across his knee. “Hey!” Squirming and giggling, at his attempts. “I said, I was joking. I’ll blow something else up. Or just blow you...again.” Mac is laughing at Briana’s playful protests, finally setting her back down after a bit of playful wrestling.
*** After Mac and I finally stop goofing around in the room, we ensure that the room is secure, and leave Fuzzy, the vicious attack kitten to guard it. I’m still not sure about this outfit. I look good, but...to meet Mac’s brother, and those women? I don’t know. As we enter the lobby though, I do gather quite the stares, and Mac appears to be moving in closer. He does look good in his leather pants. And I’m glad he put on a tee-shirt. He might have given me a hard time about it, but I want him clothed. And besides, his muscles look good, even covered up. Purrs. With our bags secured and Fuzzball guarding the room we leave and make our way down to the lobby. Briana looks great in her outfit even though I know she’s feeling a little self conscious right now, I was planning to go without a shirt but she asked me to put one on before we left the room. A lot of people are looking at her as we make our way across the lobby. I’m walking close to her but at the same time I don’t want her to feel like I’m crowding her. As we exit the resort, I spy across the street a Ki’Taran artisan shop, hanging in the window are some beautiful jewelry pieces, and is that? I move out from Mac’s side, and start walking closer to the store. I enter and move towards the displays, carefully picking up the rings...They are exquisite, platinum and gold. One ring for the base of the tail, and another for near the tip, with a chain running between them. A Ki’Taran engagement set. The workmanship on these, I would love to meet the artisan that crafted this set. The Ametrine that is inset into the rings, wow! I know I’m purring. ‘To find this today...oh right....never mind, Bri.’ I sigh, and place the set back down on the display. ‘It’s not going to happen.’ I turn to see Mac watching me. Something catches her eye at a little shop across the street, so she breaks away from me and walks over to give closer inspection. ‘Something catch your eye?’ I
think to myself taking note of her intent gaze at something I can’t quite make out but I can tell from the way her tail droops she’s having conflicting thoughts I can’t pick up because she’s blocked me out right now. ‘Mm hummm. Sorry still bridged, remember?’ I giggle out loud. ‘Sorry, it’s a Ki’Taran engagement set. I didn’t think you’d want to know. So why I closed my side for a moment. That was unfair. But I can show you how to do it too.’ ‘I understand your still apprehensive after what happened.’ ‘Mm, yeah. I guess I am.’ I walk across the street looking around to make sure I don’t see anyone I recognize...least not yet ... Looking at the rings I’m immediately impressed with the craftsmanship of the rings. “These are gorgeous!” “Yes, they are. The artisan that crafted them knows his or her business. The blend of the platinum and gold with the Ametrine added in. It’s warm and cool all at the same time. And the base ring, it looks comfortable, not painful. The base ring, blocks the zone I was telling you about, only a partner may remove the ring. However the chain, that’s a new twist. I like it.” “A lot of time, effort, and love was put into these rings.” I can’t help but get sucked into the detail of the work. It’s truly amazing. I sigh, and hand them to Mac. “Here you should look at them up close. To really see the details. The polishing really completes it.” “How do these fit? Just slip them onto the tail?” “Yes, the base ring goes first, and is slid into place, to cover the spot I told you about. Then the tip ring is slid on right about here,” I place my hands on my tail to show him. “The chain though, that is something I’ve never seen before.” With one smooth motion before Briana has a chance to react Mac slips the rings
onto her tail and kisses her right there in the store. “MMMPH!” ‘Well now you’ve gone and done it, Mister.’ ‘I said I would give you a ring and I’m a man who keeps his word. I love you Briana Storm!’ ‘Yes, I know you did and I believed you, Mac. I love you too, Mac, um...Edmund McGuire. So are they staying on me then?’ Mac is slightly startled at hearing his first name used. ‘Are you okay? I can take them off.’ ‘I can’t remember when I ever heard my first name used. And no the rings stay on. We’re engaged now so I needed to get you a proper engagement ring.’ ‘Well if you want, I can use it. I just really like calling you Mac. And oh, really, they stay on? Oh! We’re engaged! You said it!’ I’m purring and my tail is definitely twitching. As the chain jingles. Looking at Briana I take her hands, holding them in gently in my hands. “Briana Storm? Will you be my wife?” I watch as Mac takes my hands, and I can’t hear his thoughts, he has learned how to block me already. ‘Are you serious?’ ‘I’m quite serious! I want you to be my wife...if you’ll have me as your husband.’ “Hmm....YES!” I pounce on him, purring and kissing him. ‘Of course I’ll have you, my hardass.’ I reach around and pinch his ass, now mine. “Shall we look for your friends or go celebrate...or what the hell, maybe do both.” I start giggling a little bit. ‘Will he or won’t he tell them....’ I laugh at Bri’s excited response to my proposing to her her and now, hell the
shop owner is even excited. “I don’t see why we can’t do both at the same time darlin!” ‘She feel good in my arms. I can only imagine the expression of the others when I tell them I’m engaged to get married.’ The image of Gia and Stevie literally exploding in shock causes Mac to laugh out loud. I hear other purrs in the background. I look to the owner of the store, “I think we’ll take these.” And then I turn to back to Mac, “Really? You’re going to tell them we’re engaged?” ‘I love being in your arms, don’t let me go.’ “What is so funny?” “Just imagining the reaction of the others when I tell them the news. The reaction of my brother is the one I’m most interested in seeing.” ‘That and what General Cartwright's reaction will be as well. I already know how Mom will react, we’ll probably be able to feel the pressure wave from her scream of joy here.’
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see his reaction too.” I’m feeling a little nervous again, ‘Mac has a brother?’ I twitch and the chain jingles, ‘You have a MOM? And joy? I don’t know....I mean, you may not care I’m a sub. But I’m sure your Mom will.’ ‘Muriel? No she won’t be bothered in the slightest. Besides she put up with me and Angus when Cartwright brought us home from the center. Even though we share no genetic lineage with them, they’re the closet thing we have to parents.’ ‘Oh. I’m sure then she could care less about that. And why she might care who you marry? From what I’ve seen of mom’s, they are the real power in a marriage.’ ‘Well she can make the General snap to and their security detachment will follow her orders over his as he’s already discovered.’ ‘Hmm, I think I like her already, or I need to watch my six.’ I giggle a bit more. “Oh...I have no pockets and forgot my credit chit.” I walk over to talk with the owner and find out how to pay for my rings. I pull my card out of my pocket and pass it to the shop keeper smiling. “put it on
mine please, thank you.” “Oh right, he’s got this one.” I smile at both of them. “Yes, Commander Storm, and Sir, of course. However you don’t mind if I give the newly engaged couple a bonus do you?” She smiles and purrs. ‘Interesting, a Ki’Taran that is being nice to me.’ “I don’t mind at all? Bri do you mind?” I watch the shop keeper with interest waiting for the first sign of trouble hoping I’m just being paranoid. She nods her head, while reaching under the counter, “Here. You aren’t a Ki’Taran male, but I’m sure the Commander can modify it for you, Sir.” I watch warily as she reaches for something, “No, I don’t mind. And OH! That’s a beautiful set, and yes, if it won’t offend the artist, I would love to modify it for Mac.” It’s a marriage set for a male Ki’Taran. The rings are platinum and gold, with some Ametrine gems set in them as well as a chain, connecting the rings. “Male Ki’Taran’s have thicker tails, so the rings would probably be armlets for Mac?” Looking at the ring set. “A male Ki’Tarans tail is that thick?” ‘Damn thing could probably fit on my dorsum from the look of it?’ Holding Briana with one arm Mac looks at the rings and them at his free arm trying to picture it on his arm. The owner looks at Mac’s expression, and smiles warmly at him, “Yes, a males tail is thicker than a females, a genetic trait, they need something bigger.” She giggles. I look at Mac, “Ki’Tara is a Matriarchal society. It’s a joke in a way. And well...not that I know... but the tail is supposed to be an indicator.” I snort and go into a giggle fit. The owner snorts and joins in with me. We’re both doubling over from giggling so hard.
“Okay, I get it now.” ‘Good thing I don’t have a tail. Don’t have to worry about tail envy.’ Mac watches both ladies laughing at a joke he can only barely understand. “Sounds like a good enough reason for me to start studying Ki’Taran society, so that way I don’t make any social faux pas by accident and offend the wrong people.” ‘Sorry, but yes, you got it, the joke. And yes, there would be lots of tail envy with you. I’d have to beat the other Ki’Taran women off with a log.’ “So would you be willing to wear an armlet, if not, no worries. I can figure something out with you. And yes, learning Ki’Taran customs and culture would be beneficial for you. Especially with the job I’m thinking of...we still have to discuss that too. But for now.” I lean closer in to him and purr. “I’d be willing to wear an armlet for you Bri.” ‘Sure you don’t want me to wear it elsewhere for you?’ Mac chuckles at Bri’s expression to the mental image he conjours up in his mind for her. ‘Oh, well there are two rings here, I can make one an armlet, and the other I can...make a lovely cock collar out of it for our enjoyment.’ I smile at the owner, she might not be able to read Mac’s mind, but I know she can see a few things from mine. As her blush deepens. ‘He could make a Ki’Taran male, very envious.’ I send to her, and I know Mac can hear me as well, but his attention is elsewhere. As we stand here enjoying each others company I get the sinking feeling of being watched. Mac scans the surrounding area in front of the shop while the ladies chats only to have his suspicions confirmed as he spots two very unhappy faces glaring at him from across the street. ‘Well shit! Guess we won’t have to go far to find the ladies of the Far Horizon. Now where is that worthless brother of mine?’ Gia and Stevie are the two biggest trouble makers working for my brother. I’d prefer him being here just so I don’t have to do something drastic to the girls when they go Rynth shit crazy and try to attack Bri...of course I could just stand back and let Bri tear them a new hoop and let Angus sort it out later...I’d prefer to avoid any such unpleasantness but what I want and what happens are often two entirely different things.
‘They’re here? I’ll behave, we’re engaged, and I can’t be seen beating anyone anymore, unless they break the law.’ I smirk at Mac. ‘Two of them are...Gia and Stevie, and thank the wind is blowing away from us so I don’t have to hold my breath around Gia’s stink cloud. ‘The Orion and the Engineer, right? And aww, I’ll help keep your headache at bay, if you trust me. A bonus for us being engaged, you should see what might happen when we’re married.’ ‘Of course I trust you....’ MAC!!! You Son of a BITCH! Walking out of the front of the resort hotel Angus spots the girls and follows their glare across the street to see his beloved brother Mac half naked with a comely lass in one arm. “I leave you alone for a day and here you are walking down the street picking up ladies like they were flowers! You’d probably catch more if you whipped out that hog of yours and let it wander about for a few minutes! Angus laughs boisterously as he walks down the stairs heading for where Mac is standing taking a moment to give Gia and Stevie the Hairy Eyeball over the top of his sunglasses.‘You two better not start any shit or else.’ I can feel some anger, jealousy, and ‘What is that? Damn! Mac, I might have to do my job for a minute. You can go meet your friends.’ I love my brother Angus, but his fashion sense leaves much to be desired. Of course he’s wearing his kilt he always wears a kilt. But to pair it with a floral print shirt of the most obnoxious color scheme makes me want to draw down on him and shoot...then there’s all his tattoos adding to riot of colors. Mac pinches the bridge of his nose shaking his head in exasperation of his brothers choice of garb but thankful he’s here because now he doesn’t have to worry about the girls getting out of hand and attempting something everyone will regret later. “Angus? How did you get through customs with that shirt?” “What? This thing? Your always giving me a hard time about what I wear. Besides
this is a comfortable shirt. Aren’t you going to introduce me to your lovely lady friend?” ‘Mac are you out of your ever loving mind!? That’s the Hairball from Hell your holding there! She’s the second Fury of Artemis!’ ‘We really did toss a snowball into Hell with you didn’t we? Did she break your head and turn you into her puppet already or is this some sadistic game she’s playing with you? Hell for all I know I’m already lined up in a snipers sights as we speak...the General’s going to shit sixteen kittens and a bi-plane when he hears about this...if he hears about this that is.’ “Hello and Mac, I really have to step away for a moment. Um, I think I can find you two again.” ‘Your brother has horrendous taste in clothes. I’ll be able to find you.’ I reach up and tap my head, smiling at the two of them. I can now hear the ruckus in my head, and I need to help the local security team out. ‘Hopefully this outfit, can distract the moron’s.’ “Alright.” ‘You need any help? and you’re right about my brothers fashion sense.’ ‘No. Should but take a minute. I just need to go growl and show my claws.’ Without realizing it, I’ve extended them. “Oops. Sorry about that, some days they have a mind of their own. I’ll be just a minute.” I lean in and give Mac a quick peck on the cheek before stepping out of his arm and moving towards the security team. Angus watches with great interest happy that his eyes are hidden behind his sunglasses as he watches Briana’s claws extend and retract quickly. “Leaving so soon? I hope I haven’t scared you away.” Angus waves as Briana heads off. Mac leans into Bri’s kiss ‘If you need help just shout and I’ll be there.’ Mac accepts his card back from the shop keeper who’s been patiently waiting the whole time. “Thank you for your purchase, Sir. I wish the two of you all the best. Sincerely, I too have a non-Ki’Taran as a mate.” She smiles and then turns away, walking back into the store. ‘I will. But um, you do realize...I am the Head of Security here, right?’ I giggle as
I’m walking away and shaking my head. “No you haven’t scared me away. I’ll be back.” “Thank you Ma’am!” Mac watches the shop keeper walk away then turns his attention towards his brother. Gia and Stevie start to cross the street but stop and decide it’d be better if they went elsewhere considering the look on Angus’ face right now. “Wow! I haven’t seen those two change course that quickly in a long time. Shall we go elsewhere and chat in private?” ‘Judging from the look on your face right now I’m sure your ready to throttle me right here.’ Even though he has a pleasant smile on his face its the way he’s holding himself that speaks volumes about his displeasure. “Yes! Lets go elsewhere and talk brother.” Mac leads his brother back into the hotel to the bar where they can chat in a nice private booth. After ordering drinks, they quietly wait as the waitress walks away giving the two men privacy. Angus leans forward whispering in an urgent tone. “Are you NUTS!! You have any idea who that was you were holding in your arm like a loaf of Monkey Bread!?” Silence sets in as the waitress approaches with their drinks. Mac passes a healthy tip to the waitress. “We’d like some privacy so we’ll let you know if we need refills, thank you.” She smiles and nods leaving the two men to resume their conversation. “Do you have any ide.....” I reach across the table before Angus can finish his sentence and grab him by his lower jaw, twisting it to the point of dislocation. I pull him closer to me as I lean forward making sure he can see how upset I am right now. “You mind telling me what the hell is going on? Is this some bullshit operation where I get dumped in a Hot Zone with no fucking Intel!?” Releasing the tension on Angus’ jaw I shove him back hard into his seat.
I walk back into the hotel, I’ve been doing passive scans, seems Mac’s brother can’t be read either. However with that outfit, he’s definitely been seen, they entered the bar. I see them from where I’m standing, neither have noticed me yet. I can feel Mac’s anger, and he’s blocking the bridge between us. And oh, perhaps I should turn around and leave, as I see Mac grab his brother, and shove him back into his seat. I sigh and then go to the bar to take a seat on one of the stools. I’m still the head of security, and if it gets bad, I’ll deal with the both of them. The bartender walks up, smiling and then when he sees me clearly, “Sorry...we don’t serve Ki’Taran’s in here. Go elsewhere.” Before he can react, I reach and pull him across the bar, “I am the Head of Security on this planet, and YOU WILL SERVE ME! or I’ll shoot you. Your choice?” ‘I know I raised my voice, and I’m sure everyone will have seen and heard us. I don’t care at the moment, my tail isn’t twitching, but I am having a panic attack. Watching them...perhaps Mac has changed his mind, not that I’d blame him...no I’d blame myself, as always.’ ‘Oh shit! Is he ever pissed! Not that I can blame him because that’s exactly what we did to him.’ Angus rubs his sore jaw thankful and hoping he won;t have to eat dinner through a straw tonight. “I wanted to tell you, but the General said no, It’d be to much of a security risk seeing how this planet is in Psi Corps purse. He didn’t want to risk them cracking your head open and learn about what we’re planning.” “Excuse me a moment brother.” Mac gets up from the booth walking over to were Briana is seated. Reaching across the bar he grabs the bartender by his apron pulling him halfway across the bar so his face is right in Mac vision. Growling in a low tone so only the bar tender hears him. “Would you like to explain to me why you’re refusing to serve my wife? And are you fond walking?” Mac stares at the frightened man with murderous intent in his eyes waiting impatiently for him to respond to his query. Watching the scene unfolding before him Angus can literally feel his jaw drop as he hears Mac say “My Wife” ‘HOLY SHIT!!! His wife!? The Generals going to hit the roof for sure when I report this.’ I heard him... ‘my wife.’ I look at the bartender and his flailing arms, and I can’t help the giggles that have escaped. “Hello Mac. I should have left, and gotten my
coffee elsewhere. Seems that you and your brother need some quiet time. The room is still available. I will go to the local Security office, and get some coffee there. This individual,” pointing to the bartender, who’s still looking like a fish flopping around, “Won’t be able to get a job here soon, his prejudice and manners, I’ll see him on the first flight off planet.” I send a telepathic message to the Psi Corp ensign on duty to have the officer’s I just helped come and get this moronic prejudiced ass! ‘~Off Planet! I want him to leave ASAFP! Understood?~’ I let go of the fool and watch him fall backwards landing on his ass trying to scuttle away from us as quickly as possible. “Are you sure? You may want to stay. The conversation is getting quite interesting.” Mac looks back over at his brother still seated in the booth, his jaw agape at the little nugget of joyous news dropped in his lap like a plasma grenade. “or better yet why don’t we retire to the privacy of our suite where we can relax and let it all hang out? Hmm.” Mac leans forward kissing Bri sweetly on her lips. “Well...” I look at Mac and smile, “I would love to stay with you, and meet your brother. He looks familiar, but I’m not sure, his shirt is awfully loud.” I giggle, before continuing, “However he doesn’t seem happy to see me. Although,” Mmmmm, I kiss him back, “if we’re in our room, then I can shove him off the patio if he gets to annoying. What? That’s not permanent, if he’s your brother.” I wink at Mac, ‘He’s enhanced too, right?’ “Oh don’t worry about that. He’s a little shy but I’m sure he’ll warm right up to you. Won’t you brother?” Mac stares hard at Angus who suddenly finds himself feeling like a little worm on a big hook. ‘Yes he is, so don’t worry about hurting him. He can take just as much abuse as I can.’ “If you’re sure? I can order room service for some refreshments, and I could use the quiet of the room, and petting Fuzzy. Stupid moron’s on this planet.” ‘OH Good! So I could kick his ass and you will let me?’ I giggle louder, until I snort and really start laughing, looking at Mac’s brother. I sit and watch my brother make lovey faces with the second most feared woman in Psi Corp, I can’t help but feel the need to run like hell, but I know she’ll take it
as an excuse to use me like a rubber mouse and bat my hairy ass around the bar. Swallowing hard I try to regain my composure. “I think that would be a good idea Mac. It seems this bar is no longer desirable what with the rabble they employ here.” ‘If he gives you any grief then by all means feel free to slap him around a bit, just nothing permanent alright?’ ‘Okay. If he gives me grief, got it. And yes, I know, nothing permanent. I know, he is your brother!’ I try to keep my one arm out of Mac’s vision, if he sees the scratch...I don’t think he’ll follow my orders to stay out of it. I am still looking at Mac’s brother and see his lips move, and then I hear what he is saying, I can’t help but smile. I mouth back, “He won’t be employed here much longer. That is if he’s still able to breathe, when Mac gets through with him.” I smile and I don’t realize my fangs have dropped too. ‘They’re standing there facing each other looking like they’re having a conversation yet their lips are not moving....what’s going on....Oh hell! Mac have you learned a new trick we don’t know about? and whats that smell?’ Beside the bar tender soiling himself there’s a faint scent I can’t quite put my finger on. “If you’re ready, I’m ready, I need some coffee and some loving. Fuzzy will do for now.” I wink at Mac, and move carefully off the stool towards the exit. I can’t resist wiggling my ass at him. ‘Commandant Sassypant’s says Come on big guy!’ “Yes, lets go back up to the room so we can relax. Angus, lets go time to leave this place.” ‘You’ve been hurt! Care to fill me in on the details so I don’t feel the need to systematically exterminate every lowlife on this planet.’ I stop and turn to look at Mac, ‘Oh, right your sense of smell is as good as mine. I’ll tell you when we get to the room, you can help me clean and bandage it if you don’t mind. And no, no exterminations yet.’ Getting up I can’t help but feel like I’m going to see old man Davis for another one of his counseling sessions. I fucking hated that old goat, I wish Mac had not stopped
me from killing him when I had the chance.’ As we walk towards the elevator, the hotel manager rushes out apologizing and bowing furiously for the treatment they’ve received from the former bartender. I’m amazed he isn’t literally kissing Storm’s ass and tonguing Mac’s balls trying to smooth things over with them.’ ‘Mac, I’m not in the mood to be generous at the moment, can you deal with him?’ I smile at the Manager, and yet continue walking towards the elevator, “I’m tired, please send up coffee and food to our room, and thank you.” I look at Mac’s brother and smile. “Let me handle this one Mac.” Angus steps away from Briana and Mac taking the hotel manager by the shoulder leading him back to the counter and talking to him in a soothing tone. Mac watches in interest calculating the odds in his head that his brother will try to make break for it, forcing him to chase him down. ‘Lets see what he does from here. he knows he can’t out run me and if I’m really feeling mean I can stick a knife in his chunky ass before he even reaches the door.’ ‘Worried he’ll leave?’ I turn my head and look at Angus’ ass, ‘His ass isn’t that chunky. Yours is much nicer though. And I can still pounce.’ Okay now that that's taken care of lets get back to my impending interrorgation by the honeymooners from hell. ‘General, your going to owe me big time for this one...not that you’ll pay up you cheap bastard.’ Clapping his hands. “Alrighty! Now that everything is cleared up shall we continue on? I have no doubt the little lady here is just aching to pull my thumb nails wanting to know whats going on?” Angus rocks back and forward on the balls of his sandal clad feet with a forced smile of excitement on his face. I spin at that comment, looking at Angus, “Pull your nails? No, that’s so dramatic. IF I do anything, I’ll hold you by your ankles over our balcony.” I smirk and giggle at his expression, and press the elevator’s call button. “The balcony? Seems kinda childish but okay I’ll settle for that.”
“And as she’s holding you by the ankles I’ll be on the balcony below using your head as a speed bag. Hows that for a starters? You flat faced Ferengi fucker!” “There’s no need to get nasty about it Mac. I thought we were all friends here?” Angus elbows the up button on the elevator panel leaning against the door frame folding his arms in exasperation. “You people are no fun.” Angus blows a stray strand of hair out of his face and he leans against the elevator door frame with his arms crossed his chest. “Hmm, friends? I withhold judgement on that at the moment. Most people don’t want to be my friends, they only want to use me to further their ambition. I’m done being used!” I growl low in my throat, I can feel my arm burning, damn! Ki’Taran males have a slight venom in their claws, I forgot that. Peering over the top of his sunglasses at Briana. “Don’t growl at me unless your initiating foreplay and besides your injured so lets get you patched up first before the interrogation begins, okay?” Angus steps into the elevator as the doors open. ‘Okay, Mac...he asked for this.’ Mac purses his lips holding up his hands indicating to Bri that she has the okay to lay into his brother. ‘I’m not going to stop you, he asked for it.’ I pounce on Angus as he enters the elevator and really bare my fangs at him. “I’m attached already, and you’re not my type!” “Thank goodness! You were a pain in the ass when we first met and I’m not surprised to see you ain’t changed one bit.” Angus shoves hard pushing Briana up off of him. “Oof. What? Oh for the love of...YOU! No! You two can not be related!” Mac steps into the elevator quietly watching the exchange between Briana and his brother as he presses their floor button.
Sighing heavily. “I told you we came from the same creche. Me, Angus, and one other are all related. There were two others but they didn’t survive birthing.” “Be glad,” I lower my voice, yet it’s wavering when I look and speak to Mac, “I love you. If I had known he was your brother, I would’ve taken you out, to spare you the pain.” ‘Oh Goddesses, grant me the serenity to deal with this goofball, and the strength not to kill him. We’re going to be related?’ I look at Mac sighing, and then I look at Angus smirking. Stunned at my brothers admission to our birth I look up at him. “You told her about us? I can’t believe you did that!” ‘I can’t believe I chose to leave my gun behind....not that it would’ve done me any good if I brought it. Mac is stronger and faster than I am so it’d be a futile gesture and just piss him off.’ Angus clamors back up onto his feet, he straightens his kilt and adjusts his shirt. I stand up and move closer to Mac’s side, watching his brother with amusement. I can feel him...now that we’re in an enclosed area, and he’s let some of his guard down. He’s nervous. “Angus, tell me whats going on? Why all the hush hush...” Mac bites his tongue as Angus eyeballs him reminding him they’re not secure yet. “Mac...not in the elevator.” I close my eyes scanning, and can see the person at the controls of the listening devices, I have him shut off the monitors and put him to sleep. “Okay, we’re good now. But... our room is secure.” I start to feel the burning again in my arm, and I can feel the tears fall silently down my face. Leaning back against the wall of the elevator I quietly regard my brother and his wife amused at what I see. I shake my head at how perfect they look together leaning against each other. ‘I knew shore leave was going to be a dozy but I had no idea it’d be like this.’ “So when did you two elope? You know mom’s going to have a hissy fit when she finds out about this.” ‘You said I was your wife, so you explain it to him.’ I can feel the venom going
through my system now. Damn evolutionary tactic for the males of the species. And fuck me, I can feel my strength start to wan, and then the elevator is spinning. ‘Are you alright Bri?’ Mac turns looking concerned at Briana. “Mac!? She’s not looking so hot. You have a medkit in your room right?” Angus opens the sporran on the front of his kilt grabbing his communicator. ‘Manny I hope your still aboard the ship. We may be needing your services here real quick.’ Looking concerned at Briana’s condition. “Yes I have a medkit but somehow I’m thinking we’re going to need Manny’s help so if you’d be so kind?” “Lets get her to the suite so the transporter has a better chance of getting a lock on us....” ‘Mac...’ “No, I feel..I don’t feel so good, venom in the male Ki’Taran has...it’s in my blood. No Denobulian’s, promise me.” And before I can slide to the floor, it’s rushing up to meet me. Both men reach, catching Briana before she hits the floor. “Angus to Far Horizon, three to beam directly to medical NOW! Have Manny meet us there!” The shimmering energy of the transporter enveloped the three instantly relocating them to the medical bay of the Far Horizon, where both men quickly move Briana to the examination table as Dr. Mannril D’Mor activates the imagining chamber watching as the examination table bearing his comely patient slides into the chamber for examination imaging. “So gentleman, what do we have here? Its a good thing I was side tracked by my study of available documentation on Ki’Taran physiology. Remarkable creatures, did you know that the male of the species has a poisonous...” “I don’t mean to be rude to you Manny but she’s been attacked by a Ki’Taran male and the poison is currently working its way through her as we speak, so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate you putting your new found knowledge to work now please?” I love Manny, I really do but there are times when his enthusiasm for a topic is poorly timed.
“Ah Excellent! This shouldn’t take to long to scan then.” It’s not often one gets to see Mr McGuire upset over a woman, so she must be something special to him. So lets not dawdle, there is valuable knowledge to be gleaned from this incident.. Manny smiles and nods reassuringly as Mac grasps his shoulder as he walks past him moving closer to the imagining chamber wishing he was closer to Briana, holding her and not standing outside of a metal cylinder waiting for it to open up. ‘Hang in there Bri, Manny is a good doctor, he’ll fix you up quick.’ ‘Oh Mac...cold...who’s Man...Manny?’ ‘He’s the Chief Medical Officer aboard Angus’s ship. Don’t worry he’s not a denobulan.’ ‘We’re on ship? Oh good, kill Denobulian’s...’ “How much longer Manny?” ‘Yes we’re on a ship orbiting Gol’Dara.’ “The chamber has finished its scan and is now synthesizing an antidote for the venom. She be out of there in a few minutes.” ‘I must admit its a nice look for Mr. McGuire. To see him concerned about a woman.’ ‘Oh not yours, Goof...I mean your brother’s? Are we done yet? Damn, remind me to never interrupt a Ki’Taran male again. Fuck this poison hurts...’ ‘No, we’re aboard Angus’ ship. Mine is held in a cargo hold. Dr. Manny says you’ll be out of there in a few minutes the antidote for the venom is being administered now.’ ‘Three, two...Now?’ “There we go. The antidote has been administered and her wounds have been treated. She’ll need to rest for a day, the venom was quite potent so I’d like to keep her aboard for observation for at least 24hrs.” Tapping the keypad the door to the
Imaging Chamber opens and the table slides out coming to a stop in front of Mac. I can feel a difference in gravity, and the smell of recycled air. Noticeable after being on Gol’Dara for awhile. Wonder if Fuzzball is okay? ‘Can we go now?’ ‘Dr. D’Mor wants to keep you for observation to make sure that your alright but I understand you wanting to leave medical.’ Mac gently strokes Briana’s hair smiling, thankful she’s alright. “Is it necessary that she stays here? She doesn’t care for being in Medical longer than she has to.” I open my eyes, and look for Angus, “Thank you. I will behave, Angus. Let me leave Medical, please? I’ll go to the brig if I have to.” I don’t want to be locked up, but it’s better than being in a medical bay, even one as nice as this one. I look around and I don’t see anything that isn’t clean or being experimented on. This Dr. D’Mor is very organized, and it would seem efficient. Wonder how he knew about Ki’Taran physiology? Good for me though. “I don’t think that’ll be necessary Storm. You and Mac can stay in his stateroom unless the good doctor here has an objection to let you leave?” Angus looks at Manny quizzically. “Any objections Manny?” Dr. D’Mor smiles kindly. “No. I don’t have any objections to the young lady leaving so long as she is under Mr. McGuire's care. She’s free to leave.” “Well while we’re up here I want to get a few things from my room and my cargo module, if you don’t mind?” I can’t resist the urge to lean down and kiss Briana. ‘It’s odd seeing Mac act like this with a woman, all things considered with his past and his track record. The General is going to flip over this one for sure.’ Angus chuckles at his brothers tender demeanor towards Briana. “Where are my manners? Dr. D’Mor I’d like to introduce you to Lt Commander Briana Storm. Briana Storm this my Chief Medical Officer, Dr Mannril D’Mor.” I look up and smile, ah he’s the Romulan. “Shacha moi kima, kasemano D’Mor, thank you. I wasn’t sure if the poison would affect me or not. Not the best possible
way to find out either.” I’m nervous and rambling... ‘Stop it Bri. He’s not Phlox.’ I look towards Angus, still smiling, “Captain...permission to sleep on your ship?” I giggle. I reach up and pull Mac back down, “I need another one of those please.” I pucker my lips at him. “What about Fuzzball? Would Angus transport him up here?” Dr. D’Mor smiles and nods. “Shasha moi kima, kasemano Lt Commander Storm.” I am happy to be of service in a time of need for a good friend and compatriot such as Mr. McGuire. “Ah, that’s Commander Storm now. New assignment, new rank.” ‘Interesting, he knew my rank? Stop it Bri...you’re not on duty here.’ Angus smiles to himself. ‘Promoted eh? That’s a new twist and not all that unexpected either.’ “You can relax here Briana we’re all friends here and yes you are more than welcome to stay on board for the night. I’m not heading any where and after all the excitement of the day I’m feeling more than a little pooped myself. And who is Fuzzball? and where is he/she/it at?” I try not to drop my jaw or scan, “Thank you, Angus. I’m still not sure if we’re friends, but I will accept Kasemano D’Mor’s friendship.” I smile at the Doctor. “And Fuzzball is a kitten, my companion. He’s a he. And he’s mean!” I giggle at the last statement. “You’re pooped, I only pounced on you lightly, sheesh, old man.” And then I snort and really start laughing. Dr D’Mor smiles at Briana’s admission of friendship towards him. “Captain, if your not going to be needing my services. I will join my sister and head planet side for our shore leave. Are there any messages you wish for me to convey to the rest of the crew in case they inquire as to your where abouts?” I stop laughing, “Mac, give Dr D’Mor our room key, they can use our room for the night. If you’re okay with that?” ‘I still haven’t had any coffee, and I can feel my stomach aching. Right, I haven’t eaten either. And then I’m picturing pouncing on Angus again, he’s such an annoying brat... Oh Goddesses, they are related, both annoying, frustrating, always with an attitude, and yet...I love Mac. They are different
too, the scent between the two is different.’ Mac passes the key pass to their suite to Manny. “ Here you go, you and Linna enjoy yourselves. The resort is right on the beach and the view is quite nice.” Mac steps in taking Manny in a strong hug clapping him on the back. “Thank you, thank you very much.” Manny accepts Mac’s hug with patient kindness. “Your quite welcome Mr McGuire, I’m happy to be of assistance, and thank you for the suite my friend.” “Mac? I’m sure you can find Fuzzball and bring him up? You know where the transporter controls are so I’ll leave it to you. Manny you don’t need to tell anyone anything just let them enjoy themselves and hopefully I won’t have to bail anyone out of the Brig in the morning..” I giggle a bit more, and then I look at Angus and smile really big, “Since you’re bringing Fuzzball up for me, the least I can do is make sure you don’t have to bail anyone out of my Brig’s. Mac contact this Lieutenant, and he’ll ensure that if they are detained, it’s for safety and they won’t be harmed. And they’ll get breakfast before they are let go. Deal? Oh shoot, no pockets...okay, I’ll send him the names. It’s Stevie, Gia, anyone else I need to know of?” Angus waves his hands at Bri. “I appreciate the kindness but it won’t be necessary. My crew knows better than to get into any altercations but if they do then they know they’ll have to face the consequences when I come get then. I’m hard but fair on my crew and they know it.” “Okay. Head of Security, the entire planet. But hey...you know your crew. I’ll let them face my teams.” ‘Score one for the kitty. Goddess he really hasn’t changed, except for his fashion sense. Now then, do I have fun? Naaah, I promised Mac, dammit! You better appreciate me being good.’ “Mac, you and your wife enjoy your stay you know where everything is at, so if you’ll excuse us. The good doctor has a shuttle to catch and I need a drink.” Angus waves at the two of them as he and Dr. D’Mor exit Medical. Manny takes a few
moment before making his exit. “Mr. McGuire, Commander Storm, Live long and prosper.” I can’t resist, I stick my tongue out at Angus’ retreating form. That man, has always gotten, how’d he put it? My Irish up. I then smile at Dr. D’Mor, “Oyori, thank you again Doctor. Enjoy your stay, any problems. Ask for them to contact me, and I’ll help you out.” “Thank you very much, Ma’am. Its a pleasure to meet you.” Manny smiles leaving both Mac and Bri alone in medical. “Guess I’ll carry you to my room and get you comfortable before I go retrieve Fuzzball hmm?” I’d send him the correction, but he probably wouldn’t like me poking in his head. He doesn’t need to call me, Ma’am. He can call me Briana. I look at Mac, “I can walk. I think. I need coffee bad though. You can get me Fuzzy, and then go continue with your talk with Angus. Since he’s to chicken to continue, with me involved.” I giggle at the thought of Angus in a feather suit. “If your sure I’ll let you try and walk on your own darlin. Let me show you the way to my room and welcome aboard the Far Horizon. And as for my cowardly brother I’ have no doubt he’ll come around when I start cooking dinner. But first things first let get some coffee.” I help Bri up from the examination table watch her as she test her balance before trying to walk out of medical. “Thank you, Mac.” I stand and I’m a little wobbly, perhaps, “Maybe some help from you wouldn’t be that bad. If you don’t mind? And so far it’s a nice ship. Your quarters? Hmm?” He said he hasn’t done anything, but...dammit. My stomach takes that moment to rumble...loudly. “Oops sorry, I just realized we haven’t eaten.” “Here why don’t we make it simple okay?” Mac scoops Briana up in his arms and starts for the door making his way down the corridors to his stateroom. “Here we are, my room, pardon the mess.” Mac fidgets with Bri in his arms till he frees a hand thumbing the access code unlocking the door to his room. Upon entering Bri discovers that Mac’s idea of a messy room would make hers
look immaculate. ‘Neat much? Good grief.’ “It’s a little cramped but I don’t think you’ll mind sharing a small bed with me as I recall you enjoy snuggling.” “Am I the only one to share that bed?” I bite my tongue as my thoughts went out before I thought to squash my jealousy. “And yes, I like snuggling with you, you make the cutest noises when you sleep.” “Does it really matter? Your here with me alone, no one else.”. “I’m sorry Mac. No...I guess it doesn’t matter. I’m used to being in a bed that has had someone else in it before me, Malcolm had Hoshi in his first.” “The past is that, the past. We’re here and now and nothing else really matters.” Mac hugs Briana kissing her cheek softly. “Yeah, the past is past. And if you say that enough, perhaps I’ll start to believe it. Mmmm. Or keep doing that, and it’ll help too.” I set Bri down on my bed letting her get comfortable as I step across the small room smacking the wall panel next to my console watching it slide down revealing my secret coffee pot and mini fridge and begin making coffee for Bri and I. “You don’t take sugar in your’s right?” “Of course, I take cream and sugar. But if you don’t have any don’t worry about it. Do you have a tee handy, I need to get out of these clothes, they reek of the incident. And I need it off.” I try really hard not to sniff Mac’s bed. ‘Stop it Bri!’ “Sorry I couldn’t remember if you took sugar or not and you’ll find some shirts in the drawers under your legs, don’t mind the weapons.” “It’s not a problem. It’s not like you ever had coffee breaks with me before. Which drawer, I don’t want you to think I’m being nosey. Oh wait a minute, weapons? Screw it, I’m gonna be nosey!” I smile and purr, coffee, weapons, and Mac.
“Feel free to root through everything, I don’t have anything to hide from you in here.” Mac smiles at the glare Bri gives him, as he points to the hamper so Bri can toss her dirty clothes in, “and in case you want to shower. The shower is across the corridor one hatch down to your right.”As I begin to undress. “Nothing to hide huh? We’ll see then.” I take off the corset and bend over to look in Mac’s drawers, I find a tee shirt that can double as a nightshirt. And then I remove the pants, making sure to remove my Psi Corp badge. “You had to carry me here. But okay, I’ll make it to the shower, one hatch down to the right, got’cha.” I get up, naked carrying the shirt towards the door, trying not to get all wobbly again and tossing my clothes into his hamper. “Matter of fact here let me help you, the coffee should be done brewing by the time we finish in the shower.” Scooping Bri up in one arm Mac grabs his shower kit with his free hand and exits his room taking time to make sure the door is secure. “EEK! Warn me next time.” I giggle as we’re leaving the room. “I hope you have enough soap in there for me too. I’m feeling awfully dirty!” “Not to worry, I got plenty for the both of us shampoo as well.” Even though it’s a few steps to the shower I take the opportunity to give Bri’s bare butt a playful squeeze. “Oh good, wanna wash my hair for me? I’ll wash yours. It feels better when someone else does it.” I purr in anticipation and at Mac playing with my bum. “Like it huh?” “I’d be happy to wash your hair and any other part of you, you want me to.” ‘I wonder what Angus is doing right now?’ As Mac reaches up and disables the so called secret security cam by shoving a spike through the lens. “Well if you insist, and don’t tickle me, you can wash all of me if you want to?” ‘He’s probably hungry too. If you cook, you should invite him back. And what
the hell? What did that poor camera do to you? Still connected, remember? I can leave if you want?’ “why would I want you to leave? and that camera was installed by Gia. Angus takes the cost of them out of her share everytime she replaces one I destroy. And I’ll start supper after I bring up Fuzzball who is no doubt sleeping in my pack next to my side of the bed.” “Because of my jealousy, and because you’re used to being alone in your head, and oh I don’t know. And Fuzzy is....” I scan, “Confirmed, he’s sleeping in your pack on the floor. Oh, I got my distance scanning back.” I smirk at him. “Your jealousy is something we’ll work through together and I don’t mind you in my head. It’s good practice for me having you in there until I need to do something awful and then I’ll let you know I need you out. I won’t shut you out unless its an absolute emergency or someone or thing got me.” “Okay, on the jealousy thing. It’s just I’m used to be second hand, not the first thing in someones life. Or being used for their agenda. I’m done being used! And if you’re doing something awful, what? You don’t think I can help? Or you think I’m that...what? Please explain to me.” “Well shit! I guess I better come clean then.” As Mac shifts Bri in his arms so she is caught between the wall and Mac, he starts to nibble on her neck. “I do have an agenda...to be your husband. Silly!” Mac sets his mouth against her skin letting a low growl rumble up deep from his chest. “Come clean...oooh, stop that...come clean, about what? Ooooh, that feels good. Stop it! OH that! That’s a good agenda, I share that one with you. Just no ear nibbling...” I giggle and then moan louder as he growls against my neck. “I’m so going to bite you in a minute.” Sitting in his ready room Angus listens in on the conversation between Bri and Mac while swirling a tumbler filled with Kentucky Bourbon. ‘Well shit on me! The boy is bone bled smitten like a kitten for her. This certainly puts an unexpected spin on
things. Now to tell the General or no? Dammit Mac!’ “You told your brother we were married, so now what? We’re engaged. Not married. You stopped. ” I smile so he knows I’m not mad at him. “Yeah, I jumped the gun there a bit. Please forgive me for being so presumptuous about our relationship.” I smile back at Bri letting her see me smiling. “It did make me happy hearing you call me your wife. You should probably call your parents before Angus beats you to it. I don’t want your mom mad at me. We’re going to be dealing with stuff other than her.” “I’m not worried about mom, its the General, dad I’m worried about. With a name like Kill’em all Cartwright its not hard imaging the man as a bit of a hawk and not a dove. “Ah, I know Generals. I can handle him. Nothing permanent, I know. Oh and your dad is Kill’em all Cartwright. Piece of cake, Mac. We have something in common, our hatred of Black.” “Well if you have anything he can use against him then it shouldn’t be too difficult for you to get on his good side and with mom backstopping you, you’ll pretty much be golden.” “I have the security codes to get into his office, and his wife’s. The Commodore is good, but I’m better. And I can still access his computer, his bank accounts, his...want me to continue?” I start giggling at the expression on his face. Angus pours another glass of bourbon mulling over what he’s heard between his brother and soon to be sister in-law. ‘Shit! Mom can shift the field of power in her favor...hell who am I kidding mom gives dad his marching orders and their security detail has locked him out of their bedroom on her say so....and if Mac gets married then that means my happy ass better start looking quick for someone PDQ or else I better get used to her riding my ass about getting married from here on out. Aw shit! Mac is MACO Covert Ops and Briana is Psi Corp.....oh boy.’ Angus
lets out a long low whistle at the possible fallout of such a union between the two houses. ‘Fuck you very much Machiavelli.’ “You know. I realized that Angus is truly your brother, he’s just as annoying, frustrating and he has that attitude you used to have with me. Lucky for you, you’re the Alpha.” I smile as I lean forward to kiss his neck, nibbling just a little bit and purring. “Not to worry Bri, I’m sure he’ll grow on you eventually.” Mac enjoys the feel of Bri’s legs wrapped around his waist and her arms wrapped around his neck as he reaches for the closet shower controls turning on the water, waiting for it to warm up enough before stepping under the stream laughing as Bri squeals loudly clinging tightly to him. “Time to wash the kitty!” “OH! Meow!” I’m laughing as the water hits me, and it’s still a little cold. “You grew on me, eventually...I’m sure he will too. Just not the same way.” I laugh at the thought. ‘I’d shoot him. If he wasn’t your brother. Goddess.’ “Still have your rings? In case you and Angus want some quiet time, I can distract myself playing, modifying them. If you haven’t changed your mind? I can feel Angus’ nervousness, I could scan him, but... stop looking at me like that. I haven’t. He’s genuinely upset about us. And I won’t tear your family apart. And yes, I think I can get through his thick skull, you two may be related, but he is different than you.” I shiver a bit at Mac’s expression. ‘Perhaps there is something I’m not supposed to know in Angus’ pea brain.’ “I know he’s upset, actually he’s probably scared shitless considering he’s found me with you and I just stuffed a fusion grenade up his kilt by tell him we’re engaged. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he wasn’t trying to get a message back to General Cartwright right now to let him know I’ve been compromised and he needs an immediate kill order for me.” I look at Mac, “A fusion grenade, our engagement? And the General? What? You are making no sense to me right now. What do you mean compromised? Me?” I close my thoughts to Mac and then close my eyes, ‘Great! We finally get together, and his brother is going to be ordered to kill him, and then I’ll retaliate, and then...’
Sighs out loud. “Not to worry Bri, I have a trump card to play and a Fusion grenade is a lovely device …” Looks at him, “What? I’m not stupid! I know what a fusion grenade is. I didn’t see you stuff one under his kilt, that’s what I meant. And a trump card, what me? The Psi Corp operative you haven’t had to kill because you’ve bedded me. So now I’m a trophy, is that it??” I try to wiggle out of his embrace. Hanging onto Bri as she tries to wiggle out of my hands.“It’s a figure of speech Bri, and Mom and is the trump card to stop any silliness that Angus or the General may attempt. So relax your not a trinket up for grabs here. You’ve worked with my brother before correct? You know he’s DIM (Defense Intelligence Ministry) or at least he was before he went freelance working as a Freebooter for the Empire.” I stop wiggling as he’s talking, and he’s tightened his grip, although, I don’t think he’s noticed. ‘Ow, he is strong.’ “Ah, okay, right you said something along those lines earlier. And I’m sorry, Mac. And yes, I believe I’ve worked with Angus before.” I shiver slightly at that memory. “Freebooter, and yet the General knows? Hmm?” Realising I’m grasping her a little tighter then she likes I relax my grasp on her bum. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to squeeze so hard. Lets get something to eat. That’ll bring him out of his hidey hole real quick.” Purring as he releases his grip, “That’s fine, Fuzzy first, please. I’m concerned about him. He hasn’t had a family and well, I don’t want him to scare the good doctor. I like him.” I smile and then continue, “Mm, food and coffee sounds good too. Stupid prejudiced moron that wouldn’t serve me, I hope he’s found by a few Klingon’s and eaten.” I start laughing. “By the way, Mac. You told your brother we’re married, or actually you said that, and didn’t correct it with him.” I snort and then really start laughing louder at the expression on Mac’s face. I unblock my thoughts, ‘Second thoughts?’
Rushing into the transporter room. “Shit! I almost forgot their cat.” Angus’ hands fly across the console with lightning quickness finding the location of his brothers room planet side and scans for a trace of their cat, energizing the moment he has a lock on it watching the platform for a feline to appear but when a backpack appears Angus approaches wondering how this showed up and not a cat only to be surprised by a face full of fuzzy fury exploding out of the back pack onto him. ‘What the hell!’ Sleeping soundly inside the warm darkness of the back pack Fuzzball wakes to an odd sensation along his skin that grows with intensity and then fading fast leaving him unhappy at being woken in such a manner. Through skewed senses he perceives the pack being lifted, Fuzzball begins to purr in anticipation of seeing Mac or Briana only to look up at a strange face staring down on him. Fuzzballs purr quickly turns to a growl of anger, springing out of the bag attacking the stranger. Beaming up my brothers pack thinking I’m beaming up his cat, I’m caught completely flat footed as I open it up only to have a fuzzy grenade go off on me. I stumble backwards falling flat on my ass as I’m trying to keep the tiny terror from scratching my face off. “Git offa me you fuzzy shit! MAC!” I can feel Fuzzball, and he’s not happy. “Mac! Fuzzy is here, and he’s not a happy kitty! In fact, I think he’s beating up Angus.” I try and fail to stifle my giggle at the thoughts I’m seeing. I start to send Fuzzy my thoughts to leave Angus alone, ‘He’s Mac’s brother. Family. I know...but he is.’ In mid attack Fuzzball stops at a familiar and pleasant feeling. ‘Briana!’ “Meow!” Fuzzball leaps off of Angus to search out his family. ‘I’m here Fuzzy. We’ll be there shortly.’ “We’ve talked, he’s stopped attacking your brother, and now he’s looking for us. Silly kitten, has an inpatient streak.” And just like that the attack is over. Laying on the floor of the transporter room I fight the urge to draw my plasma pistol and vaporise this fuzzy fucker on the spot but that would not endear me any further with my brother or his wife. “Okay cat
we need to get something straight here.” Angus glares at the small cat looking at him quizzically. “Mew?” Hoping into a pair of shorts. “Your child takes after his mother no doubt.” Mac laughs as Briana jumps at him punching at him for his sideways comment about her being impatient. “Well if he does, then he’s highly intelligent, and brave.” I stop punching him and look for the tee shirt I was wearing. Looking back at Mac, “If he takes after his father, than he’s strong, yet brash and annoying.” “Here your shirt.” I toss Bri the t-shirt she pulled from my dresser. “Lets go get our feisty child then shall we, before Fuzzy has Angus crying uncle.” I snatch the shirt, and pull it on, pulling it down. “Thank you. And yes, let’s go get our child. And well if I’m mom and you’re dad, technically Angus is his Uncle.” I snort and start laughing again. ‘Fuzzy, we’re coming. Stay put. And be nice to your Uncle. In fact, be all lovey.’ And I know Fuzzy can feel my amusement. Walking over to the comm panel in the shower room, I press the intercom button. “Keep your skirt on, we’re on our way to pick up Fuzzball.” I meow really quick before Mac closes the Comm. I look at him, “Give Angus a giggle. And give Fuzzy his signal.” ‘They’re on their way...joy.’ Picking myself off of the floor I look down at the little cat circling around my feet wondering if its going to attack again? “You behave yourself now okay?” Fuzzball starts purring, and brushes his tail against Angus leg. And then Fuzzy jumps onto his kilt, starting to climb Angus. “AH! Watch it cat! I’m not a scratching post. I can see your going to be a handful aren’t you?” Prying the cat loose of my kilt, I tuck it in my arm like a rugby ball holding it securely feeling it purr happily against my arm as I bend over picking up
Mac’s back pack. “Meow” Fuzzball purrs as Angus starts to hold him and nuzzles in to his arm. “Mew” Briana nearly runs into Angus as he exits the transporter alcove. “Whoa there darlin. I believe this is yours?” Passing the cat to Briana, “and this has to belong to your ugly mug.” I toss the pack to Mac, I don’t bother hiding my annoyance at having been clawed up. “What’s in the pack four days worth of recon supplies? I stop inches from knocking Angus on the floor, and accept Fuzzy. “Thank you. He is a security kitten. Sorry if he hurt you, you scared...I mean, he wasn’t expecting you. And I am truly sorry, he knows now that you’re family.” I smile at Angus, while nuzzling Fuzzy against my cheek. ‘Good job, Fuzzy. But not again, okay? Mac wouldn’t be amused.’ Smiling I catch my back pack. “You like my security feature? You’ve just been had by a Ki’Taran Jumping Cat Mine. Open the pack and BOOM, you get a face full of fuzzy fury.” I’m laughing at Angus’ annoyed expression as I scritch Fuzzball behind his ear and under his chin smiling as he purrs happily. I look from Angus to Mac, ‘You know that’s a bunch of... there is no such thing as a Ki’Taran Jumping Cat mine, and fuzzy isn’t Ki’Taran.’ I giggle softly at Mac’s sense of humor with Angus. Fuzzball looks up at Mac, purring and then meows softly. ‘Yes, I know fuzzy. You want to be with him. okay.’ “Um, your child wants you, daddy.” I hold Fuzzball out towards Mac. All I have to do is hold my hand out and he’s up my arm settling on my shoulder rubbing his head against mine purring happily. “Hi fuzzy, you miss me?” “Meow!” I look at Angus and smile, “Some people have birds that perch on their shoulder. You know like Admiral Daniels, not Mac, he has an attack kitten.”
“I know Admiral Daniels and that damn bird of his. Mac gets along better with animals better than I do and as for strange pets this is nothing new to me. He used to have a pet Bluge rat that would sit on his shoulder nibbling on nuts and berries while he studied. Oh, hey Mac any chance of you cooking something up since we’re up here?” Mac takes the lead, Angus and I are talking while following him to the galley. Mac enters while Angus and I are still talking in the corridor. “You mean, you knew his one bird. He tasted good.” I smile. “What? He tried to attack Admiral Black, and he ordered me to take it out. So I did. He had a pet rat? Oooh. Prey on the go.” I laugh at them, as my stomach rumbles. “Oops, sorry. He mentioned food,” Briana motions her hand at Angus, “first thing we’ve agreed on.” Mac and Angus both look at Briana. “So you were the one who carried out the hit on the bird eh? Can’t says that I’m surprised. That bird pooped on just about everyone in high command at one time or another.” “Hit? That wasn’t a hit, that was a snack.” I giggle. “Bastard...I mean, Black was the victim of the Daniel’s sense of humor. He ordered it to attack him. Poor thing, I wish Black had ordered me to take out Daniel’s. The bird was a victim. Tasty, but a victim.” “Daniels died last month. Seems he couldn’t keep his hands off of Rear Admiral Yvette's daughter so she asked me for a favor.” Angus smiles. ‘Why the hell did I tell her that?’ “Nice. I would ask a favor, but I want to be the one to see my enemy die, slowly and painfully.” ‘I miss Cheshire, but I don’t miss the Commodore or Admiral Bastard.’ Mac sticking his head back out into the corridor listening for sounds of other crew aboard. “There’s no security detail aboard?”
“No, I sent them all dirtside for R&R. Besides with the three of us on board I think we’re more than capable of handling anything that pops up, now get your ass back in the galley and cook, dammit! I’m hungry and I know damn well she’s got to be hungry to.” Angus flicks his thumb towards Briana. I really want to grab his thumb and bring him to his knees, but I promised Mac to behave myself, and he is being nice. “Coffee too, please Mac.” “Already brewing, it’ll be done in a few minutes Bri.” I head back into the galley to begin cooking supper wondering how long it’s going to take before I hear my brother screaming for me to come and pry Bri off of him because he opened his mouth and the wrong thing is said to set her off. “Come on Fuzzy lets get you some Din din.” I sigh and purr slightly, “Thank you. Want me to take Fuzzy?” Looking at Angus, “So do you have any seats for us to wait. Or do we stand out here until the food is done?” “No need to stand on ceremony here darlin.” Angus walks into the galley opening up a cabinet pulling out plates and glasses. ‘Don’t kill him for calling me darlin, I never could stand him calling me that. Sounds...off from him.’ “Okay, um Angus.” Following him into the galley, “I can call you by your first name now, right?” I smirk at him. “You’ve been calling me by my first name and put these on the table over there please?” I point towards the table where we’ll be eating as I pull out the silverware. “Well, yeah, but now I’m asking officially, I’m being on my best behavior, remember? And okay.” I take the plates, and glasses and move towards the table to put them down. “Unlike my brother, who I have no doubt probably drove you batty calling you Ma’am I’m less formal or stuffy.” I chuckle as Mac turns around giving me the finger.
“Actually, I preferred Ma’am, to some of the other names he had for me.” I smile at Mac’s expression. “What? I did like one or two of them.” Looking at Mac, “And I’ll show you the Fuzzy Terror sometime.” I giggle softly turning back towards Angus, “I don’t really like the darling, could you maybe try Briana? The other is to familiar, if you know what I mean.” “Sure thing Whiskers.” ‘I’ve really gotta stop pushing my luck. Its going to get me killed or worse one of these day.’ Before I can stop the impulse, I have thrown a glass at Angus’ head. “Whiskers!?! NO! Mac, I’m going to break the rules and misbehave badly.” I smile as I easily catch the glass thrown at me. ‘There’s that familiar furry fury I know and loved NOT.’ “Don’t sweat it Briana. Coffees done.” I knew he’d catch it. “Mac, I never loved him. But if you get jealous, I’ll help you break him.” I smile at Angus and giggle some more. “Coffee. Ooh, okay, I’ll behave maybe?” ‘My brother is going to get himself killed or worse one of these days if he doesn’t learn to tone it down.’ “Knock your self out hon. Any smart alec remarks out of him I won’t hold it against you for mangling him.” I watch Fuzzball bury his face into his food dish as I flip the steaks on the grill. I look at Angus as I sit down on one of the chairs, “You heard him, I can mangle you. And I’ll enlist the little kitten to help me. He has claws too, as you know. And he’s not warmed up to you yet. Now then be nice and bring me a cup of coffee, and I won’t mangle you...yet. Cream and sugar, please.” “Well since you asked so nicely it’d be my pleasure to serve you your coffee. Lots of cream right?” The smell from the grill is killing me, it smells so good. I feel my stomach gurgle as I pour our coffee anticipating the coming meal. ‘Serves me right for skipping lunch.’
“Ah, well thank you. And yes, lots of cream. Your stomach is growling.” I giggle a little bit, and then hear my stomach make the same noises. I laugh at the sound of Briana’s stomach gurgling as loud as mine. “ Here you go Briana. Hey MAC! When supper gonna be served? Your woman is looking at me like a tasty morsel.” “Keep it up dickhead and I’ll serve you up for her enjoyment in a nice bearnaise sauce and a side of baby new potatoes.” I shake my head in disbelief. Actually I’m not surprised in the slightest that he’s razzing her. He loves pushing peoples buttons just to see their reaction. I take the coffee mug from Angus, and grin a little bit at Mac’s reply to him. “Oooh, that sounds good. But I’m really hungry, and he’s what? A snack, maybe.” I look at Angus, “I’m just joking, really...for now.” Smiling back at Briana. “I know. I have to get my giggles somehow. Besides life wouldn’t be any fun if I didn’t give Mac a hard time in the process. Hell I haven’t seen his ugly mug in five years.” “Really? He said he got a ride with you to Gol’dara. And oh I can give you some giggles.” “I did give him a ride here after we found his boat floating dead in space amidst the debris field of the Enterprise. He was on death’s door when we finally got him aboard and blew the hatch to get him out. Hell I’m surprised his boat was still in one piece for the most part...and I get the feeling you’d be the one giggling as I’m screaming.”
I look at Mac, ‘You didn’t tell me that, and I didn’t see it, and it wasn’t in your report. You in big trouble, Hardass!’ And then I shiver at the thought of my friends dead. ‘Mal...Phaser...Charles...’ I shake my head to clear it, and then look at Angus, “Well yes, perhaps. I would be giggling at you screaming. Hey, Fuzzy want to help make Uncle Angus scream?”
‘I’m going to kick your ass Angus.’ Mac glares at his brother. ‘It’s all on the padd I handed you earlier telling you what happened.’ ‘If you’re able to when I’m done with you, and NO it wasn’t on the padd you handed me. I read where the Enterprise was destroyed, but not where you almost died as well.’ I am shivering again. “We blew the bolts on the hatch, hauled him out, hustled him down to medical where Manny put him back together, spending the next two weeks or so in a coma. When he finally came too I put him to work. Just like old times wasn’t it brother?” I can feel the tears running down my cheeks, and I whisper, “Oh...fuck. He nearly died, and...” I lay my head down on the table in front of me, ‘C’mere Fuzzy, I need you, please.’ Taking a drink of his coffee Angus realizes his mouth has done it again seeing Briana in tears. “Oh hell I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.” ‘Ah shit, way to go dumb ass now you’ve gone and upset her.’ Walking up with a food platter in hand Mac elbows the back of Angus’ head as he sets it on the table. “Dinners served. Come here Bri.” Mac gently lifts Briana up holding her, comforting her as she silently weeps in my arms. I’m sniffling, as Mac pulls me up into his arms, and I move to lie my head on his shoulder. ‘I’m sorry...It’s just...oh damn. I love you, and I can’t imagine your annoying hardass not being here. I had to leave the ship, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. And then you showed up here! I realized how much, I missed you...love you.’
Holding Bri in my arms I hold my hand out so Fuzzball can join in.‘There’s no need to apologize hon. I figured you left because of an assignment, and frankly I’m glad you weren’t aboard when it all went wrong. I’m just glad we found each other again because up until the time were you pounced on me in the middle of the
street, I was seriously starting to wonder what I was going to do with the rest of my life much less if I was going to continue on being a MACO. Your not being there left a big hole in me...love you to kitten.’ ‘You missed me? Hi Fuzzy.’ I can feel Fuzzy leaning next to my head and he’s nuzzling me. ‘Leaving was hard...I wonder if I had been on board...’ I sigh and sniffle. Watching them standing there on one hand freaks me out slightly but at the same time I feel real bad about upsetting Briana. It wasn’t my intention to do so and now I’m feeling really shitty plus I know Mac’s going to pummel me for it later...one again my mouth gets me into trouble. ‘ I hope they don’t mind if I start eating without them.’ “The food, it’s going to get cold. I’m fine...for now. Sorry, to be so emotional.” “No, don’t be. It was my big mouth that upset you. I’m sorry about that it wasn’t my intention to do so.” I raise my head up off of Mac’s shoulder and look at Angus, “I believe you, you didn’t mean to hurt me. Cause if you did...” I growl low in my chest, and Fuzzy looks at him growling too. “I wouldn’t behave myself. And neither would Fuzzy it seems.” “I tell you what. Lets put all unpleasantness aside and let me and Mac take of it in a time honored family tradition shall we?” Standing up from the table I remove my sunglasses setting them on the table as I watch my brother turn to face me, his fist clenching tight enough that I can hear his knuckles popping. “Okay brother, head or gut?” ‘Thank you for being man enough to admit you screwed up and taking your lumps for it.’ “Gut!” I see his fist clearly at his side and it still hits me faster than I can follow like a Caldorian plow mule kicking me in the gut hard enough that I fall to the floor holding my stomach trying to get my lungs to work properly to breath again.
I accept his hand as he helps my back up to me feet holding me till I can stand on my own. Mac has me let me go, and I sit down at the table, and then I can barely track his fist as it hits Angus. Next thing I see is Angus falling to the floor, holding his stomach. ‘Boys.’ And Fuzzy purrs. ‘I know, you’re not like the rest of them.’ I point to Mac and Angus’ antics. “Okay, so now that you’ve done your family tradition, can we eat? “Yes lets eat,” Angus croaks in agreement sitting back down at the table taking a moment to catch his breath while waiting for us to serve ourselves. Something about this reminds me of another dinner...I don’t know, maybe this is what they call deja vu’. “So do we stand on family ceremony, or” I take one of my forks and start to stick it into a steak on the platter. “No need to stand on ceremony here, dig in. He who eats the most doesn’t do dishes but in light of things I’ll volunteer to do that chore after we eat.” Angus responds in a raspy voice. Mac returns to the kitchen to bring out two side dishes to go with the steaks. “ I also made home fries and glazed carrots to go with our meal.” I chuckle at the sight of Angus sticking his tongue out in disgust of the glazed carrots I spoon onto his plate. “Eat’em boy, they’re good for you.” I press my elbow against his shoulder playfully pushing him towards his plate. “Oh, I could’ve helped get those too, I can’t cook. But I can carry things.” I stab my steak, and put it onto the plate. “Um, no carrots for me, that’s rabbit food, but I will definitely eat the fries. Any cheese?” ‘I use carrots to lure in the rabbits for BBQ.’ I giggle softly at the image. “Thanks Angus for doing the dishes, um, I have my own plans for after dinner.” I look at the bandage on my arm, and resist the urge to scratch it. My head is still a little off, ‘next time no getting between a Ki’Taran male and his prey.’ “I think there’s some I’ll go look and see. The good Captain here needs to restock
before he leaves orbit for parts unknown. You eat some carrots to Bri. They’re good for you, and you need it to heal.” Walking back into the kitchen to retrieve the cheese for the potatoes. “But...but, it’s rabbit food! I’m NOT a rabbit!” I scrunch up my nose at the thought of carrots, I’ll take a vitamin shot, that should make him happy. Angus fidgets with his carrots waiting for Mac to return with the cheese. “Put some cheese on them, everything tastes better covered in cheese.” ‘Glad to know I’m not the only here who doesn't like carrots though I have to admit Mac is a damn good cook. So much so I’ll eat a small portion of them.’ “Hm, cheese does make broccoli taste better, unless Fuzzy likes carrots. Do you like carrots, Fuzzy?” I ask him as he sits on my lap, front paws on the table. He looks at the carrots and growls. I laugh, and look at Angus, “I think that’s a no.” I close my eyes for a moment, “Yes, that’s a definite no from Fuzzball.” “There see? Even fuzzy doesn’t like carrots. That’s three to one. We don’t have to eat...okay, okay...geez, you don’t have to look at me like that. Shit, I thought mom was the only who could give the hairy eyeball?” I look at Angus without turning my head as I’m dishing fried potatoes onto my plate. “Excuse me? Your not going to what?” “Yeah, but if Mac gave him a carrot, I’d bet the little ball of fur would eat it for him.” “Alright fine! If you two don’t want to eat your carrots I’m not going to hold a gun to your head. I’ll skip serving dessert.” I smile as Bri and Angus start complaining and threatening me with bodily harm or that they’ll serve themselves whether they eat their carrots or not as I try to entice Fuzzball with a piece of carrot but discover he’s not a fan of them either. I look up at Mac and Angus, “What? Wait? No dessert, if I don’t eat this rabbit food?” Even Fuzzy is growling a little. “Fine. I guess I’ll have a few carrots, call me
Bunny!” I giggle a little. “Your full of it Mac if you think that threat is going to get me to eat them, and I don’t care if you have the bigger dick! I’m not eating them.” I look up and feel my eyes going wide at Angus’ remark. ‘So that question is answered?’ I send mental giggles to Mac. I have to put my fork down because it’s hard to concentrate with these two going off like a Orienta Station fireworks display I’m laughing so hard. I have to download this from the security station to my padd. This is just too precious even Fuzzy is growling at me in protest. I can feel Mac’s amusement, “Something funny, Sergeant McGuire?” “As a matter of fact there is something funny Commandant Sassypants! You should be sitting where I’m at just to see the looks on both of your faces right now.” The look on Angus face as he chokes on his coffee sets me off again with laughter I definitely need to freeze that image off of the security monitor and send it out as a Christmas card. ‘Okay, Fuzzy, solidarity time. Kitties stick together.’ As Fuzzy was inching towards Mac, to sit on his shoulder. He turns around, swishing his tail at Mac, and climbs up onto my shoulder. “Oh really, I’m personally amused by who has the bigger dick on this ship. I mean I could start comparing my old phase cannons, you know, I mean I might have penis envy.” I snort at the look on Angus’ face, and start laughing harder. “Ooh Looks like your sleeping on a crew bunk tonight brother.” “Oh I don’t know, I’m sure he’ll make up for it with his dessert.” And I wink at Mac. ‘Who knew? Civilized conversation, no weapons.’ Its been a long time since I’ve felt this relaxed or laughed this much. It feels good. I hope we have more opportunities like this. “I don’t think that’ll be a problem. It’s
the one thing that changes everything for the better.” I wink at Bri. I reach my hand across the table towards Mac. “Really which dessert would that be??” I purr and Fuzzy joins in. “Oh really? To the best of my knowledge the larder and the freeze are damn near bone dry of food stuff....You asshole! I knew you had a secret stash aboard. I’ve a good mind to kick you for holding out on me you dick!” Just before I pop a forkful of steak and potatoes into my mouth. “Not to worry, it’s a surprise. You’ll find out what it is soon enough, now eat.” I pout just a little, as I’m eating my carrots, guess what I was thinking was wrong. ‘Oh well. Enough Bri. You’re engaged, that’s great! Yeah, great... Shut up brain!’ “I’m done with the rabbit food, and I cleaned my plate.” I show it to Mac and I giggle before continuing, “Please Hardass, may I have my dessert?” Since Whiskers over here is being all dainty with cleaning her plate I do the exact opposite and snarf everything down then push my plate towards Mac so he can see I’ve complied with his demands. “Happy now? You jerk!” “You two are killing me. Since you were good and you ate your veggies I’ll make dessert while you two put the dishes in the sink so Angus can clean them. By the time your done Dessert will be ready.” I get up from the table wiping my mouth with a napkin, I start to make my way out of the galley. Time to show these two, I can move fast too. I giggle, as I reach across the table, grabbing Angus’ plate, and then I place it on top of Mac’s and finally mine. I get up and that’s when it gets a little blurry. “Oops. Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.” Fuzzy is meowing. “Whoa! Easy there Slick! You just about sandwiched the cat between the plates there.” Angus hops back from the table as Briana’s sudden burst of speed startles him for a second as Mas exits the galley laughing.
“Uh, yeah. I don’t think that was the smartest thing I’ve done. Showing off a bit. Okay, I’ll owe you one. Upgrade your translator or your weapons targeting system, if you clean the table too. I think...I don’t feel so hot at the moment.” I can feel sweat on my forehead, and cold chills. I reach for my coffee to take a sip, and my hands are trembling a little. “Yeah you don’t look so swift at the moment . You sit there and rest, I’ll clean up this mess. Upgrade my ships systems you say? We can talk later about that.” ‘Dummy! You just got out of Medical from stepping in front of an oversized pissed off tabby cat. Of course you’re not going to be up to snuff....speaking of snuff now would be the opportune time to.....no....put that thought out of your pea brain numb nuts. Mac would kill me for certain if I were stupid enough even try. Besides I want really want dessert.’ “You know. You’re doing it again. Telegraphing your thoughts onto your face, and your non-verbals. Thought we had this discussion before. If you’re going to do something stupid, I’m going to hurt you. And can we wait till I’m back up to speed, and then it’ll be even-ish? I thought we were going to behave. Besides we’re uh...family now. Here hold the kitty.” And then I hold Fuzzy out to Angus. “Don’t worry, he’ll grow on you.” Taking the cat from Briana. “Old habits are hard to break, okay? I’m sorry, I won’t try or attempt anything against you. Besides I don’t want to face my brother if I somehow survive against you. I’ve seen the devastation that man can wreak when someone he likes has been attacked.” Angus shivers at the memory of the demise of the Honshu Clan on Higara Prime. “So yeah, messing with me then. Not to brilliant. I don’t think we want to see how that would turn out. So how about a truce or a treaty? I have moved up in Psi Corp and as a Security officer, I’m sure we can come to an arrangement. And you’ve gotten out of DIM. I never liked that acronym. Dim as in Dim-witted, Dim-bulbs. I know you have a brain in there. Let’s see if we could be...friends. No agendas, except for the one that I’m going to sleep with your brother. And you get to sleep with Fuzzy.” I giggle before continuing, “What, didn’t you want a lil pussy?” And then I fall out of my chair laughing at him. As Fuzzy lands on the table looking
between the floor and Angus. Rinsing the dishes off before putting them into the cleaner, Angus weighs the value of Briana’s words. ‘I never liked working for the D.I.M. To damn much red tape, bureaucracy, and good ole boy toadyism involved to get anything effective done. It seemed like most of the time was spent either kissing someones ass, covering their ass, or plotting against someones ass over just to move up the ladder. No I don’t miss that place in the least bit.’ “I think we can work out a non-aggression treaty between the two of us.” As I walk back to the table Briana attempts to pass her cat to me but winds up dropping it onto the table as she succumbs to the fit of the giggles that floors her. She obviously thinks her joke is that funny as the cat and I stand there looking at each other and then look back at Briana rolling on the floor laughing her butt off. “I think she’s feeling better Fuzzy.” Walking down the corridor Mac stops in front of the armory, keying in his access code, he enters the room making his way to the back of the room to his work bench. ‘If the crew knew I installed this little beauty just in case my sweet tooth acted up, they’d freak.’ Chuckling, Mac moves asides scanners and tools on the shelf above his bench exposing a small plate that slides aside when he presses against it revealing a micro freezer just big enough to hold two half quart containers. Once removed everything is sealed up and put back into place, Once satisfied his tracks are adequately cover Mac exits the armory heading back to the galley. Mac returns to the galley holding to containers of ice cream. I knew that son of a bitch was holding out on me, all this time he had ice cream hidden on board and he didn’t tell me...Hell I wouldn’t mind if I had a secret ice cream stash. Briana’s reaction is hilarious. Watching her fuss and fume at Mac for teasing her about holding out on the ice cream from her if she didn’t eat her veggies. There’s just enough ice cream in both of the containers for each of us to have two scoops. One scoop of Sweet Cream and one scoop of Chocolate Caramel Swirl. Mac and I sit smiling watching Briana dance in her seat as she enjoys her ice cream, and I mean enjoy her ice cream as well as trying to steal bites of ours as well. Girls got a bigger sweet tooth as us.
We have some good laughs and now that the ice cream is all gone we’re all starting to feel tired. Briana is snuggled up to Mac trying to stay awake but its a losing battle, she won’t last much longer. “Why don’t you put her to bed, I’ll finish cleaning up here.” Mac chuckles as Briana nuzzles into him. “I think I will. Thank you for helping us out. See you in the morning.” Mac gently scoops Briana up into his arms. Bri nuzzles her face into his chest while purring happily, Fuzzball leaps onto Briana while Mac is still bent over lifting her. ‘Blows my mind to see him so happy, I can’t help but envy him a little.’ Dishes cleaned, put away, and secured, it’s time for my happy ass to hit the sack after I see who’s trying to contact the ship. No doubt it’s Gia wondering where I’m at. So much for a peaceful even. Green drama in 3,..2,..1. Taking a deep breath I open the channel. “McGee here, what’s up?” “Angus why are you on the ship? I thought we were going to be relaxing on the beach?” Gia’s questions come off as urgent, needy, and just a wee bot clingy. Rolling my eyes I’m glad this is just a audio channel and not visual. “I had something I needed to take care of on board with Mac. We’ll be back down in the morning.” “Mac is up there too? Is that woman with him? He better not be ….” Angus raises his voice in irritation to the Orion's whining. “He better not be what!? You forget your place woman. You belong to me and no one else. I don’t know where you got the idea you mean anything to Mac, but in case you’ve forgotten He doesn’t care for you because you give him a huge ass headache and your refusal to take the shots that would help him lessen those headaches doesn’t earn you any friendly feelings from him. Whatever you think exists between the two of you let me spell it out to you in words you can understand. You mean nothing to him, he doesn’t want anything to do with your whiny ass and as a matter a fact I don’t want anything to do with you right now. You’ve done nothing but bitch, piss, and
moan ever since he came back aboard and you started hounding his ass pining for attention he doesn’t want to give you. Angus out!” Stabbing the button to close the channel with his middle finger, Angus turns from the console rolling his head trying to massage the soreness from his neck. ‘Fucking Orions! Her usefulness is about wore out, I should have found a replacement for her long ago. I should report in with the General but I’m way to tired right now. I’ll do it tomorrow if I feel like it. Right now I need sleep, it’s been one helluva day.’
