hamwi equation for calculating BMI (?

)
for the first 5 foot of height, 100 pounds. With 5 pounds for each inch over 5 f
oot.
2.20
2.27 kg's per inch or 2.54cm
.89 kg's per 1 centimeter
900 grams or .9 kg per 1 centimeter over 5 foot
152.4 cm's = 5 foot
100 lb or pounds = 45.35 kg's

10 inches = 25.4 centimeters

tai's height, 152.4 + 25.4 = 177.8
so for the 25.4 cm's above 5 foot (152.4 cm) its 900 grams (or .9kg) for each 1
centimeter: added to the base 45.35 kg's for all under 5 foot.
25.4 x 900 grams = 22.72 kg
therefor, 177.8 cm = 68kg's (45.35 kg's for 152.4cm, 22.72 kg's for 25.4 cm)

Wait, a new ratio is given.. for a man

for the first 5 foot of height, 106 pounds. With 6 pounds for each inch over 5 f
oot.
6 pounds = 2.72 kg's / 2.54 cm's per inch = 1.07 kg's per centimeter
25.4 cm's x 1.07 kg's = 27.2 kg's
therefor, 177.8 cm = 75.2 kg's (48.00 kg's for 152.4cm, 27.2 kg's for 25.4 cm)
So at 75.2 kg's, i am currently (if 98 kg's) 23 kg over the ideal BMI (from hamw
i equation) or 42 percent over my BMI (??)
using my ideal body weight, 75 kg or 166 lb or pounds i can calculate my ideal c
alorie intake..
166 x 10 = 1660 (calories needed for basal metabolic rate)
Now there are 2 other factors to take into account !!! NEAT and inthermic energy
of food.

basic ratio of calories to exercise ( of the many)

100 calories per mile or 100 calories per 2000 steps
e.g. if i walk 3 miles burning 300 calories, then eat 1 chocalate chip cookie 45
0 calories i have out-eaten my exercise !
10 000 steps or 10 miles = 500 calories -> don't over=estimate the value of that
walking.
So, for a sedentary lifestyle, add 30% to BMR.
Tai = 1660 basal energy needs from calories, so when sedentary add
1660 x 30% = 500 or 2160 calories.
This is without exercise.
If extremely active, double my BMR needs..
2160 x 2 = 4320 calories (only if extremely active)
if moderately active, add %0 % to my BMR
1660 x 50 % = 2490 Calories (830 + 1660 - only if moderately active)

To lose 1 pound of body fat it takes 3500 calories, or to lose 2.2 kg's.
So, 1 kg of body fat takes 1590 calories.

Does it take walking 35 miles to lose 1 pound of body fat...yes, since 100 calor
ies is expended to walk 1 mile.
Calories per kilometer.
100 calories / 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) = 62.5 calories per kilometer.
So, if it takes 100 calories to walk 1 mile (1.6 kilometers), to lose 1 kilogram
would require walking (whatever distance consumes 1590/1600 calories) 25.45 kil
ometers.
i.e. 25.45 km's x 62.5 calories (per kilometer) = 1590 calories (which is burnin
g of 1 kilogram of body fat).

popular questions...
1) can i rev up my basal metabolic rate...
yes, the more functional lean muscle mass...this inherently increases the BMR
Weight and muscle mass being different things, adding pounds/kilograms IF (repea
t IF) in the form of lean muscle mass...will increase the bodies basal metabolic
rate.
So,by having lean muscle mass...you can eat more calories per day. Only if funct
ional lean muscle mass is added.

Kilojoules (Calories) per kilometer.

100 calories x 4.18 = 418 kilojoules) / 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) = (62.5 x 4.18
= 261.25 kilojoules per kilometer
So, if it takes 418 kilojoules to walk 1 mile (1.6 kilometers), to lose 1 kilogr
am would require walking (whatever distance consumes 6688 kilojoules) 25.45 kilo
meters.
i.e. 25.45 km's x 261.25 kilojoules (per kilometer) = 6688 kilojoules (which is
burning of 1 kilogram of body fat).
