Abstract:
A flatlock seam is the most frequently used type of seam found in clothing, and
comprises the two edges of the fabric being pressed open and flat before being
joined.this seam is stitched with the help of flatlock machine. We have discussed
Its parts and mechanism.

Theory:

Oiling mechanism:
Oil is essential for the machine. To keep the machine parts oily at every time, it has to
make oil path well organized. Sewing machine has oil pump assembly at lower portion
of the machine. Pump sucks the oil in the tub of the machine and pumps it to all parts
of the machine.
Pump has two functions. First it provides oil to all parts and secondly, extra oil is
sucked by it to circulate the oil all the time in machine parts. It has two main pipes.
One pipe is called hook oil pipe and it oil the hook driving shaft. Other pipe is called
main shaft oil tube. It oils the main shaft and needle bar. Oil which comes out of the
needle bar is accumulated in return pipe assembly. Oil pump assembly sucks that oil
through return pipe assembly. In this way oil circulates in machine parts.

Apparatus:
Screw drivers, flatlock machine.

W600 flatlock machine oil mechanism:

An oil pump for a sewing machine, comprising:

Housing:
An adjustable gear hub assembly on an interior of said housing for driving at least one
gear pump, said gear hub assembly being adjustable for a tight fit within said housing;
and at least one coverplate having an interior face contiguous with an exterior surface
of said housing, said interior face having a column extending vertical upward, an
uppermost segment of said column connecting with a bypass channel extending
diagonally downward, for removing excess oil from said oil pump, while leaving a
supply of oil in said oil pump.

A sewing machine comprising:

An oil pump assembly having at least one coverplate with one face having a column
therein extending vertically upward connecting with a bypass channel extending
diagonally downward from the connection of said column to said channel;
means for removing excess oil from said oil pump assembly; and

3
means for leaving a supply of oil in said oil pump assembly for use as a lubricant upon
start-up of said sewing machine.

An oil pump assembly comprising:

Housing:
At least one coverplate adjacent to said housing having an interior face contiguous
with said housing, said interior face having a column extending vertically upward to
connect with a bypass channel extending diagonally downward from the connection of
said column to said channel for the removal of excess oil from said oil pump assembly,
while leaving a supply of oil in said oil pump assembly for use as a lubricant upon
start-up of said sewing machine.

Conclusion:
These parts and there arrangement must be known for machine maintainance and for

improvement of production efficiency.
