Location Nongpiur, Upper Shillong, East Khasi Hills.
Year of Establishment During 2008-09 and induction of birds on September 2011.
Objectives The farm was set up with assistance under the National Agriculture
Development Programme (NADP) / Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana
(RKVY). The objective of the setting up the farm in East Khasi Hills
is to encourage people, participation in livestock production
Livestocks with improved stock of animals. To increase egg and
meat production in order to suffice the high demand in the state.
Capacities 5000 Nos. - Parent layer stock with the targeted production of
14.00 Lakh Nos. of Eggs and 1120 Lakh Nos. of Chicks.

Posts No posts have been sanctioned till the end of the financial year
2012-13. The farm is under the charge of the REO, REP, Shillong in
addition to her duties as Rinderpest Eradication Officer and
managed by 4 Nos. of Muster Roll.

Location Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi District

Objectives 1. To maintain highly productive layer strains.
2. To plan & execute breeding programme where a steady
response in scientific in selection procedure is obtained for
over all productivity of the birds.
3. To carry out research works in collaboration with the
Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding A.A.U.
Khanapara, with a view to find a new information relating to
the improvement of layer strains.
4. To distribute breeding birds to various Centres of N.E.R. for
further multiplication & distribution to farmers.
5. To impart Training to interested farmers for poultry
production & Management.
6. To Supply strain - cross birds directly to farmers & to follow
up the breeding policy of the Farm.
