Title: Lifeguard 07/2019 – Present
Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Scotch Plains, NJ
 Preventative lifeguarding at the indoor pools within the YMCA. In charge of pool chemical reading and
acted as a first responder to emergencies within the pool and the entire facility.
 In order to become a lifeguard, I went through full days of training to learn CPR, rescues, saves, and
more. This training, and monthly follow ups, allowed myself to do my job properly and protect the pool.
 I became a lifeguard when I was already a worker at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood YMCA. We had a
shortage of lifeguards when a large group went off to college, so I volunteered to get certified so that we
could keep our pools open and guarded.

Title: Swim Instructor 04/2019 – Present

Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Scotch Plains, NJ
 Teach the fundamental mechanics of swimming to kids of all ages and levels.
 I became a swim instructor because I believe swimming is a necessary life skill that everyone should
learn. Like all teachers, we can change a student’s quality of life and I wanted to make sure that the kids
at the YMCA had strong foundations in swimming so they could be prepared for future situations.

Activities
Club: Pre-Veterinary Club 09/2020 - Present
 Gain experience in the veterinary environment and further exploration of veterinary medicine alongside
people with similar career interests. We explore the application process and materials needed to apply to
graduate school, networking opportunities, and how we can give back to the animal community.
Club: Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences 09/2020 - Present
 The club nurtures the development of leadership and professional skills, along with academic excellence,
for student members. As a member, I am given the opportunity to network and speak with people from all
different ethnic backgrounds, with a focus on those that are underrepresented among students and faculty.
