Stop the Franchise Sellout!

Late this month, our City Council will vote on a new franchise agreement for our
city’s gas and electric utility, now run by SDG&E. A new agreement would allow a
fossil fuel company to make billions in profits over 20 years using city property
RENT-FREE, while charging us the highest rates in California.

Our gas and electric utility is worth BILLIONS!

Our franchise is worth more than $15 billion, but the auction is set to begin at less
than 1 percent of its value - $80 million. This is like auctioning a $500,000 house
for less than $5,000. Our city would lose billions.

Say NO to the highest rates!

A bad agreement will keep us paying the state’s highest rates and allow the utility to
make $1 million/day in profits – all from our pockets.

San Diego deserves better!

Pennies on the dollar is a sellout we can’t afford.

If the Council VOTES NO, we will have the time to carefully consider our options
and choose a utility that is the best deal for San Diego.

Please call or e-mail today your City Council representative to
