What do you mean ‘hitting on a girl’?

From where I come from, if you really like a

girl, you approach her parents and humbly ask for their daughter’s hand. You
promise them that you will keep her happy and fulfilled until your last breadth and
would not let anything in the world cause her pain. But her parents bluntly refuse
because you are not from their caste. But you love her still, and decide to confess
your love to her by singing the most heartfelt and romantic song ever. By the time
you are done with the song, the girl sees the prince charming she has been waiting
for in you. The world pauses for a moment as both of you find love in each other’s
eyes and promise to be with each other for all your seven lives. But reality sinks in
and you realize that the cruel world would not let you be together. And so, you take
the hand of your beautiful and loving wife and runaway towards the sunset.

You reach a new town, but you are penniless. You try to find a job. But even though
you are an MBA from Columdiabad University with straights As, you find it hard to
find a job. You come to terms with the fact that you may never be able to get your
dream job in Private Equity. In fact, the need of the hour is to provide for your
family, and hence you must start doing manual labor in order to earn a days’ bread.
Each day becomes a struggle. But you are content because at the end of the day you
sleep in the arms of your beautiful and loving wife. Everyday you work harder and
harder trying to earn a good living. But little do you know that your villainous
neighbor has set his evil eyes on your beautiful and loving wife. One fine day when
you reach home, you are shocked not to find your beautiful and loving wife at home.
Frantically you ask around and then report to the police, but to no avail. You
imagine the troubles your beautiful and loving wife is going through, and it makes
you cry. You decide to take matters into your own hands. You search for clues and
get closer to the evil man who has done this to you. The discovery of the villain
doesn’t come as a surprise to you as you bring down your wrath on every cell of his
body. He is almost dead and begs your pardon. He tells you how he kidnapped your
beautiful and loving wife and where has he kept her captive. You run faster than the
wind to reach to her. You find her and both of you embrace each other with mixed
emotions of tears and happiness. The story of your bravery spreads like wildfire and
everyone starts respecting you. It is then you receive a call from a big PE fund that
wants to hire you as per their CSR. But you reject their offer because it doesn’t
matter. You have decided to start you own fund. The love has made you braver. And
you and your beautiful and loving wife live happily ever after.
