Writing Project Our big project, “10 Things I Love,” began this past Friday. We’ll be working on it in class this week. Students will also be working on it over the weekend for homework. Problem of the Week Will return and be due this Friday Book Club in a Bag All books should be FINISHED by Friday. We’ll have a special meeting Friday for those students who are done. We’ll be meeting in the “Room 302 Café” to sip some hot chocolate and discuss our books. I’ll take pictures! Recess Friday I’d like to try outdoor recess again. You’re probably tired of signing permission slips for this, so please sign and clip the bottom portion if you give me permission to go outside every Friday until Spring. (Hats & Gloves required, of course). That way we will have recess at least once a week (as long as it isn’t below 20 degrees). Online Book Club We’ve finished our second book, Regarding The Fountain! The kids loved it. If you happen to be at a library, look for other books in the series. The author’s name is Kate Klise. I don’t own any of them, but I’m sure the local library does. And I’m sure the kids would like them as much as they liked this one. We’ll be moving onto another book with our friends in other states sometime in early March. Going Global Today we looked at a set of PowerPoints that a class in the country of Turkey sent us. The slideshows showed us what life and culture is like for young people there. We sent similar slideshows to them this week, too. It was very interesting to get a first-hand look at life in a distant country. I think the students learned a lot from it. I’m going to have them write about it later this week. -------clip here-------I give my child _____________________ permission to play outside on Fridays, as long as it’s over 20 degrees and he/she wears a hat AND gloves.
