I. introduction

In this study we focused on sewing process and operation of making three kinds of rags.
Our main objectives on this study are to find the different factors that affect the
production of these rags. Second, is to analyze whether the process whether the processes
are effective depending on time it takes to make these products. Third, is to collect data
for further analysis in determining the factors like (standard time, normal time and to
number of cycles.) etc.

II. Scope and analysis

The scope of this study is all about observing the process, operation, workplace, working
condition and worker assessment. After conducting these observations we found out that
there are many factors affecting the production of these products.

List of factors

Working time – the workers don’t usually starts early.

Normal time – sometimes the workers tend to chat that is the result of the idle time.

Working condition – the condition on their workplace is suited. Yet some of the
machines are broken.

Working place – the place is not well organized and the race materials are scattered
around the room.

Process – the process are good yet there are not systematized.
III. Data

Elements:

Preparing the rag

1 – Positioning the pattern and bottom part of the rag on the table
2 – Arrange and organize the materials according to the pattern
3 – Add inside padding on the rag and cut to pattern
4 – Put top part of the rag
5 – Set aside

Elements:

Making a rag (sewing)

1 – Get the prepared rag by left hand

2 – Place rag on the machine and sew to pattern
3 – Cut excess thread from the machine and set aside finished product on the right side

Elements:

Preparing the floor mat

1 – Get bottom part and place on the table

2 – Get part and put inside pudding (“mogmog”) on top of the mat
3 – Arrange and level the pudding on the mat
4 – Get and place the top part and cut according to size
5 – Organize part then set aside
Elements:

Making a floor mat (sewing)

1. Get the prepared mat and place on the machine

2. Set-up part and start sewing the side
3. Sew part’s side on 1st clockwise rotation
4. Sew part’s side on 2nd clockwise rotation
5. Sew part’s side on 3rd clockwise rotation
6. Cut excess thread, set part on the middle, and sew
7. Set front part on the middle half and sew
8. Set back part on the middle half and sew
9. Rotate mat and sew a third part
10. Set to machine and sew the opposite third part
11. Get the pipings and set on the sides of the mat
12. Sew the side pipings
13. Sew part’s side on 1st clockwise rotation
14. Sew part’s side on 2nd clockwise rotation
15. Sew part’s side on 3rd clockwise rotation
16. Cut excess thread from the machine and set aside finished product on the right
side
