WHY DETOX
THE LIVER?
Your liver plays a critical role in your health, helping you digest food, everything
you eat and drink, and eliminate harmful substances from your body.

The liver is the second largest organ in the body (after the skin) and is located
in the upper right abdomen under the ribs and below the diaphragm. It
performs a myriad of functions. For example, your liver also helps you
manage your energy by regulating blood sugar levels, storing and releasing
blood sugar, assimilate nutrients, especially fats and important vitamins like
A, B12, and D, synthesize amino acids and contribute to bone and muscle
growth. Your liver also produces bile, which breaks down fats so they can be
absorbed, and carries wastes out in the stool.

THE LIVER PERFORMS OVER 500

FUNCTIONS IN YOUR BODY.
The excessive burden of toxins and stress can take a toll, impacting its
ability to function optimally. When the liver is depleted, it becomes sluggish,
allowing toxins to buildup in your body, which contributes to chronic
inflammation and the depletion of your nutrient reserves.

Pro-actively supporting your liver with detoxification can help keep

your liver vital and healthy. Just as you perform annual maintenance on
your car and your home, taking time each spring to let your liver rest,
repair and heal can help keep it in top condition.

A liver detox typically involves modifying your diet to avoid foods that are
harder for the liver to process. This gives your digestive system and your liver
a break and allows it time to rest and heal. When you reduce the incoming
toxic load, it allows the liver to catch up on the backlog of toxins.

Page 3 — vibrantblueoils.com
SIGNS THAT
YOUR LIVER IS
OVERTAXED
Your liver is often late to complain and lacks pain receptors, making it
difficult to know when it’s struggling and needs support. Since the liver
is involved in so many functions of the body, it will usually manifest
symptoms elsewhere. For example, some early signs and symptoms of
an overtaxed or stressed liver may present as:

EXCESSIVE FATIGUE
Fatigue is common when the liver is under stress as the liver is responsible
for managing blood sugar which supports your energy levels and combat
fatigue. A stressed liver may become less efficient at regulating your blood
sugar leaving for fatigue and sugar cravings.

HORMONE IMBALANCES OR PMS

The liver detoxifies your hormones, including excess estrogen. When liver
function is impaired, excess estrogen may not be eliminated and can be
reabsorbed resulting in symptoms like PMS, breast tenderness, excessive
bleeding, moodiness or weight gain.

BLOATING AND GAS

When bile flow is compromised, dysbiosis can set in, where unfriendly
flora dominates, leading to constipation where toxins are not eliminated
further contributing to an imbalance of gut flora, gas and bloating.

Page 4 — vibrantblueoils.com
HIGH LEVELS OF HEAVY METALS
When the liver’s detoxification pathways are impaired, heavy metals can
accumulate in the body. In particular, the liver’s stores of glutathione, which
safely and effectively binds to toxins and metals, can be depleted.

CHEMICAL SENSITIVITIES AND ALLERGIES

Your liver breaks down excess histamine. If your liver is sluggish, histamine
is not properly broken down and can build up in your body contributing
to symptoms like a heightened sensitivity to smells, chemicals and
foods. Research shows that individuals with impaired bile flow, present with
significantly greater than normal levels of histamine in their blood work.

ITCHY SKIN
When your liver is impaired, it compromises optimal bile flow. Bile can then
get pushed out through and deposited on your skin contributing to itchiness.

BRUISING AND BLEEDING

You may bruise more easily because the liver can no longer produce enough
proteins that are needed to clot the blood after an injury. The liver actually
produces several clotting factors, all of which begin to disappear when the
liver is damaged.

SWELLING
When the liver isn’t able to do its job, people may start to retain water in their
abdomens and legs, causing swelling.

POOR SLEEP
Poor liver function can contribute to night waking. Sleep disturbances have
long been observed in chronic liver conditions, and one mechanism may be
impaired hepatic melatonin metabolism. During the night, your liver is busy
rebuilding the body and cleansing it of accumulated toxins.  Your liver is most
active between 1 – 3 AM, often peaking at 3 AM. When you wake at this time
but are still groggy enough to fall back to sleep, it is often a signal that the
Liver or Gall Bladder is overloaded and could use a little support.

ESSENTIAL OILS CAN BE
POWERFUL TOOLS TO OPEN YOUR
DETOXIFICATION PATHWAYS AND
DETOX THE LIVER AS WELL AS
STRENGTHEN, STIMULATE, AND
REGENERATE YOUR LIVER.
Specific essential oil blends can be used to enhance, accelerate and
support your body and your organs, especially your liver, your gall
bladder and your lymphatic system in the detoxification process.
Because essential oils work on many levels, as physical toxins are
removed; negative thoughts and emotions are also released. It
is strongly recommended that essential oils be paired with high
quality, organic fruits and vegetables, liver supporting supplements
like milk thistle and dandelion root and binders like chlorella or
charcoal for optimal effectiveness.

DETOX
DIRECTIONALITY
When your body detoxifies, it eliminates toxins by moving them out of your
cells, into your blood, through your liver, into your bile, which then carries
toxins into the gut for elimination in your stool.  As long as toxins flow in the
right direction, they can be eliminated.

You might think of this as streams flowing into rivers, flowing into the ocean.
As long as the path is open and not blocked by logs or rocks, everything flows
smoothly.  When there is a block in this flow, the water backs up and can
overflow, flooding the surrounding area and causing damage.

Similar bottlenecks can occur in your detoxification pathway when your liver
is congested or bile flow becomes stagnant.

Like a river unable to flow past the bottleneck, the

fluids carrying the toxins out of your body are not able to
flow out of your liver into your intestines for elimination.
When that pathway is blocked, the toxins are forced
to flow back into your bloodstream and need to be
eliminated through other detoxification pathways –
your skin and your kidneys.
When toxins are eliminated through the skin, they present as blemishes,
scabs, rashes or feel dry and itchy. Brown spots on your skin, known as liver
spots, are aptly named. When your liver is unable to process toxins, it is
released through the skin, your largest organ.

Another exit pathway for toxins that cannot be processed through

the liver, is your kidneys, located on your low back.
When your kidneys overwork, you experience symptoms like:

• Low back pain

• The need to urinate more frequently
• Puffiness around your eyes
• Swollen feet and ankles

If your skin and kidneys are not able to pick up the slack for your liver, your
body will store toxins in fat to try to protect against them landing in critical
organs like your brain. This is why liver congestion is correlated with weight
gain, fatigue, and brain fog. The body will do anything it can, include adding
extra weight to your frame, to move toxins out of your bloodstream.

HOW ESSENTIAL OILS
SUPPORT DETOX
DIRECTIONALITY
Essential oils help keep plants healthy by moving vital fluids and
energy. They perform similar functions in your body, helping to move
energy and prevent stagnation. As mentioned earlier, when your liver
becomes stagnant, from physical toxins, stress or anxiety, it impedes
detoxification. Essential oils are a powerful tool to help shift stagnation
and improve the flow of energy and toxins through the liver and the gall
bladder.

Essential oils can help shift your body into alignment so toxins do
not backlog back into your bloodstream, but flow out of your body. More
specifically, topically applying essential oils to specific points on your skin
can activate energy flow directly and quickly, stimulating your liver and
gall bladder to help toxins flow out of the body instead of back into the
bloodstream.

The super small size of essential oil molecules allows them to be easily
assimilated into the organs, to help promote the directional flow of bile
and toxins.

ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS TO
SUPPORT LIVER DETOX AND
DETOX DIRECTIONALITY
Essential Oils can be used to rapidly stimulate this directional communication
between your brain, liver, gallbladder and gut for proper elimination. Keeping
your detox flowing in the right direction can help you avoid the common
‘detox’ and ‘die-off’ symptoms.

Liver™ Blend
Liver™ helps support optimal health and vitality of the liver. Formulated with
oils that help stimulate, strengthen, and tone the liver, including German
Chamomile, which stimulates bile secretions and supports liver detox, Ylang
Ylang, which helps detoxify your nervous and digestive systems and
Peppermint, which helps you detoxify through your respiratory
and digestive systems. This is a great blend to support any kind of
digestive repair effort that would release extra toxins (like yeast die-
off), a detox cleanse or for anyone who demonstrates liver stress
symptoms like sensitivity to smells (smoke, perfume, etc.) and or
chemicals or those who are easily intoxicated or hungover.

Gall Bladder™ Blend
Supporting healthy bile flow, helps support digestive function and balance
your gut flora, as bile acids are antimicrobial. The liver eliminates toxins
and their metabolites into the bile, and out of the body via the stool. If
bile is not properly flowing, toxins are not eliminated from the body. The
gallbladder is responsible for storing, releasing, and concentrating bile
which helps carry toxins and old hormones out of the body. When our
bile becomes too viscous, it doesn’t flow as well and toxins (especially
estrogen) don’t move out of the system and often get reabsorbed. This can
be caused by a very low-fat diet, too much toxicity in the body, estrogen
dominance, or chronic stress.

The gallbladder is also another organ that holds onto negative

emotions like resentment, anger, bitterness, and hate.

Gall Bladder™ is formulated with oils to support bile flow

including Rosewood, Roman Chamomile, and Black Cumin.

Parasympathetic™ Blend
There are 2 states of the nervous system:  The “fight-or-flight” sympathetic
state and the “rest-and-digest” parasympathetic state. In order for the body
to detoxify and heal, it needs to be in the “rest-and-digest” parasympathetic
state. You literally cannot detoxify when you are under stress.
When your nervous system is in the “fight-or-flight” mode, you cannot
detoxify successfully. To help activate your Parasympathetic “rest-and-digest”
nervous system balance and open up your detoxification pathways, apply the
Parasympathetic™ blend to the vagal nerve (behind the earlobe on the mastoid
bone). This formulated proprietary blend includes Lime and Clove in a base of
fractionated coconut oil.
Stimulating the parasympathetic response also helps to stimulate the optimal
digestive cascade, including your ability to eliminate toxins. When the flow of bile
is stagnant or slow, your gut shifts towards a state of dysbiosis, where unfriendly
flora dominate and constipation is common. The toxins from pathogenic
bacteria then block detoxification pathways in the liver as well.
Parasympathetic™ blend helps to promote optimal digestion, absorption
and assimilation and elimination.  What’s more, healthy gut bacteria can
help to break down toxins. Supporting the parasympathetic state and
optimal gut function can boost your resilience to toxins and keep the
directionality of your detox flowing.
Parasympathetic™ blend also helps you support your liver’s ability to
transform toxic molecules into less toxic ones and help your body eliminate
them. Research shows that the limonene found in citrus essential oils,
like Lime in the Parasympathetic™ blend, can stimulate the production of
glutathione, a key component of healthy detoxification.
Finally, essential oils such as clove found in Parasympathetic™ helps to calm
inflammation by releasing the anti-inflammatory neurotransmitter
Acetylcholine. Chronic inflammation impedes detoxification, so
stimulating your vagus nerve with Parasympathetic™ can help
reduce inflammation and support the optimal directionality of
detoxification.

Liver Support™ Blend to Detoxify Emotions
The detoxification process occurs on a physical, spiritual and emotional level
and can help uncover and express feelings, especially hidden frustrations,
anger, resentments, or fear. Often, the more toxins a person releases, the more
stored emotion that is also released. Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt noticed this pattern
in his work with thousands of chronically ill patients and noted that “for each
unresolved psycho-emotional conflict or trauma there is an equivalent of stored
toxins and an equivalent of pathogenic microorganisms. To successfully detoxify
the body the three issues have to be addressed simultaneously.”
Negative emotions can get stuck in your liver causing the liver to become
sluggish as trauma and negative emotions like anger, fear, and frustration
block the free flow of toxins.
Essential oils can make excellent tools to support a gentle release
and detoxification of emotions. Processing and releasing these
negative emotions are an important step in opening the
drainage pathways. The oils in this blend assist the body to
recognize, work through and release trauma, fear, and anger
and include White Grapefruit, Helichrysum italicum, Lavender,
Geranium, Elemi, Sandalwood, Blue Tansy, Ylang Ylang,

Intestinal Mucosa™ Blend
Supporting the health of the intestinal lining, normal gut motility and the
growth of friendly gut flora can all help improve your liver function.
Your intestines are critical for both physical breaking down our food, so
we can digest, absorb and assimilate the nutrients and also eliminating
the waste. Regular and healthy bowel movements are a critical pathway
for the toxins to leave the body. Poor waste elimination is often correlated
with toxins being reabsorbed into the body, often known as re-toxification.
Applying 1 drop of Parasympathetic™ behind the earlobe on the mastoid
bone can support digestive motility and trigger bowel movements critical to
the elimination pathway.
The intestines also play an important role in our detoxification and immune
health, providing a physical barrier to stop viruses, bacteria, fungus, yeast,
parasites and other pathogens or toxins from entering the body and
maintaining a balance of “good” bacteria that assist in the detoxification
of toxins and the maintenance of a balanced gut environment. Normal
detoxification during digestion depends on the integrity of the GI membrane
and the maintenance of the precise bacterial and chemical environment.
An imbalance in the intestinal flora and injury to intestinal walls can allow
undigested food and other contaminants can leak into the bloodstream.
Intestinal Mucosa™ essential oils Cypress, Nargarmotha, Birch,
and Cardamom protects the cells and nourishes “good” bacterial
flora which in turn feeds the lining of the small intestine
keeping it robust, healthy and able to support the final steps
of digestion, allowing only appropriately digested food

THE ROLE
OF BINDERS
When we detoxify, we need to make sure that the toxins are not
only mobilized but actually leave the body. In order to leave the
body, toxins travel through the liver, where they travel to the small
intestine in the bile. If the toxins are not bound to anything, most of
them will get reabsorbed in the gut.

Binders are substances that ‘bind’ to toxins to help move them

out of the body. They work by attracting or trapping toxins and
transports them out of the body.

Binders can contribute to constipation, so combining essential oils

such as the Vibrant Blue Oils Parasympathetic™ blend with binders
can help keep you regular.

Page 14 — vibrantblueoils.com
WHAT BINDERS
SHOULD I USE?
The following list of effective binders works differently based on their specific
toxin load of the individual. What works for you can also change during
different phases of treatment.

Chlorella
Chlorella is blue-green algae rich in vitamins, minerals, iron, and
amino acids that have a high affinity for heavy metals, but also
volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pesticides, herbicides, and
mycotoxins. Because chlorella is a living organism, it has evolved to
bind only to toxic metals, not essential minerals. For this reason, it
can be used long-term with no risk of nutritional deficiency over time.
Chlorella works particularly well for removing heavy metals from the
body. Chlorella can mobilize metals, so it is advised that you begin slowly
and work up to the desired dose to prevent unfavorable side effects.  Other
Algaes I recommend are Ecklonia Cava and Spirulina which have properties
similar to Chlorella.

Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal is literally charcoal from wood, peat, or coconut
shell that is ‘activated’ through heating it in the presence of a gas
that creates little holes within the charcoal. It is those little holes that
entrap the toxins. Your body cannot absorb charcoal so it passes
through the GI tract while taking unwanted toxins with it.
It is important to note that activated charcoal is a broad-spectrum
binder that will bind a little bit of everything. This means it will bind
toxins, as well as vitamins and minerals. For this reason, it is best
consumed on an empty stomach first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

Clay
Clay falls somewhere in between chlorella and charcoal in terms
of selective absorption. For example, clays are more selective to
binding toxins than charcoal, but can still bind to nutrients. They
are most commonly used for binding to biotoxins from mold and
other microbes but can bind to other toxins as well. Some of my
favorite clays include:
Bentonite Clay: Bentonite clay is a consumable clay originating
from the ash created by volcanoes. It soaks up toxins, heavy metals,
and other harmful materials.
GI Detox: My favorite binder, GI Detox, is made from 75% Pyrophyllite clay
– a rare clay that is richer in silica and quartz than other clays and works by
both adsorbing (to bind to) and absorbing (to ‘swallow’ up) chemicals – and
25% activated charcoal.  GI Detox helps restore gut microbial balance and is
gentle enough to use daily (take one to two capsules twice daily on an
empty stomach). Other powerful clays include Zeolite (like ZeoBind).

Page 15 — vibrantblueoils.com
Pectin
Pectin is a powdered fiber supplement made from apples, plums,
grapefruits, or other citrus fruits that has a high affinity for lead
and other heavy metals. It helps to detoxify the body by sweeping
up biotoxins in the gut caused by mold and other infections. In
addition, pectin is a very gentle binder and has some immune-
modulating properties.

Enterosgel
Enterosgel is a silica-based gel that has a high affinity for
aluminum and is super easy to add to water and give to kids who
might struggle to swallow pills. It is also good for binding to gut
endotoxins and has a low affinity for vitamins and minerals.

Silica
Silica can bind to aluminum and other metals like thallium and
tin. You can get it through silica-rich mineral water like Volvic or
FIJI Natural Artesian Water.

Humic and Fulvic Acids

Humic and Fulvic Acids are made of decomposed plant matter,
essentially dirt. They have been shown to detox the pesticide
Glyphosate.

Because binders can bind to nutrients, they should be

taken away from food. It is generally recommended to
take them at least 30 minutes before, or 1 hour after
eating or taking any supplements or medications. Binders
can also cause constipation, so make sure to take them
with plenty of water. Chasing them with magnesium
citrate can also help reduce constipation.

Page 16 — vibrantblueoils.com
ESSENTIAL OILS TO USE IN
COMBINATION WITH BINDERS
In addition to the Liver, Liver Support, Parasympathetic and Gall Bladder
Blends here are additional powerful blends to support the effectiveness of
your binders:

Lymph™ Blend
The lymphatic system removes toxins from every cell in the body. It works
as the body’s septic system, removing the byproducts and wastes created
from metabolizing nutrients. Just like the drains in your home, the lymphatic
system can get congested and stagnant, and toxins can build up. The more
you can help the lymph fluid flow, the more quickly you can move toxins
out of the body.  Attempts to detoxify the body when the lymph system is
congested often lead to detox and healing reactions. The lymphatic system
helps remove toxins, excess fluid, and waste products from the cells and the
interstitial spaces between the cells.
Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system does not have a
central pump—it only moves as the muscles squeeze it along. So the lack of
movement makes the lymphatic system stagnant, with waste accumulating
and excessive toxins building up.
The essential oils in the Lymph™ blend include Vitex Berry, Spearmint,
Palmarosa, and Ylang Ylang which powerfully promote lymph flow.

HOW TO USE
Liberally apply 2 to 3 drops of Lymph™ to both sides of the neck, the
lymph nodes under the arms, over the clavicles and around inguinal
ligament (bikini line area—think where your leg creases when you lift
it) to ensure optimal drainage and health.

Page 17 — vibrantblueoils.com
Kidney Support™ Blend
The kidneys play a vital role in detoxification, regulating the flow and balance
of fluids in the body, filtering the blood, and helping remove waste from the
body through urination. In Chinese medicine, the kidneys are considered
the seat of courage and willpower. They control the volume, composition,
and pressure of fluids in all the cells. Blood flows through the kidneys at its
highest pressure, filtering out toxins and directing nourishing materials to
where they are needed. Key essential oils to support the kidneys in this blend
include Cedarwood, Fir Needles, Frankincense, Pine, Spruce and Ylang Ylang.

HOW TO USE
Kidney Support™ applied over the kidneys (lower back, size of a fist
starting at bottom rib), over the forehead or around the outside of
earlobes can help support the kidney’s ability to release toxins.  It also
helps to support the kidneys with electrolytes. Electrolytes, particularly
sodium, help the body maintain normal fluid levels with helps the
kidneys. Binders also help protect the kidneys by routing the majority of
the toxins out through the gastrointestinal system in the feces, rather
than excreting them through the kidneys in the urine.

Lung Support™ Blend:

The lungs are sponge-like organs located near the backbone on
either side of the heart. They function as a fundamental source of
life energy –transporting oxygen from the atmosphere into the
capillaries so they can oxygenate blood – as well as an important
channel of elimination – releasing carbon dioxide and other
toxins from the bloodstream into the atmosphere. In addition,
improved circulation can help the lungs function more efficiently,
which promotes detoxification.
Essential oils in this blend include Bergamot, Geranium Rose, Lemon,
Mandarin, Orange, Rose, and Ylang Ylang.

HOW TO USE
Applying 2 -3 drops of Lung Support™ over the lungs can help release
toxins.

ESSENTIAL OIL
PROPERTIES BY
PLANT PART
Some of the healing benefits of plants can be attributed to both how the
plants are grown and the part of the plant used for the oil. For example,
plants that grow in the shade, like Peppermint™, tend to be cooling to your
body. While plants that crave the sun, like black pepper, help bring dryness
and heat into your system.  Plants that thrive in damp areas, like mint, help
your body alleviate dampness like congestion.

The part of the plant from which essential oils are derived offers insight into
their medicinal benefits. For example, root essences are inherently centering,
calming and sedating.

It is helpful to know what part(s) of a plant were used in the production

of essential oil as the constituents, aroma and the therapeutic
properties of the oil can vary. For example, Cinnamon essential oil is
produced from either the bark or the leaves of the cinnamon tree. Some
producers use only a plant’s leaves, while some may use both the leaves and
connecting twigs.

Page 19 — vibrantblueoils.com
SEEDS
Seeds support reproductive function in plants. They can play a
similar role in your body, supporting your reproductive system,
along with sensuality, growth, nourishment, and birth.  Seed
essential oils like Angelica seed or Celery seed are also known
to help give birth to creativity, new ideas, new projects and
new life phases. Along with Cardamom, included in our Focus™
blend, for creative and mental energy, seed oils like Nutmeg help
support physical energy. Seed oils like Fennel and Anise support
digestion. Other seed oils include Dill, Celery Seed, Caraway included
and Cucumber Seed oil.

ROOTS
Roots serve to anchor plants into the earth where they absorb
valuable nutrients and water. Root essential oils, therefore,
help you feel grounded, connecting you to earth energy,
providing stability and helping to return your body to balance.
For example, Vetiver essential oil is extracted from a perennial
bunchgrass with very deep roots that help ground it to the Earth.
Vetiver’s deep roots may help to ground you mentally, physically
and emotionally, often helping you explore the root of your
emotional issues.
Essential oils derived from the roots of plants or grasses like Angelica,
Spikenard, and Valerian root can be calming and sedating, which is especially
helpful when you feel overwhelmed or anxious or disconnected. It’s also
interesting to note that root plants often look like nerves in the body and
essential oils derived from roots like Ginger and Valerian often help to bring
pain relief.
Essential oils derived from grasses, like Citronella, Lemongrass and
Palmarosa tend to be very anti-bacterial, purifying and anti-parasitic.
Essential oils derived from grasses may also have a warming effect on your
body.

RESINS
Resins function within the plant to heal wounds and protect
the plant from external pathogens. Essential oils derived from
resins serve a similar protective function in your body, helping
to heal wounds and ward off disease and negative energy.  Oils
like Frankincense™, Myrrh and Elemi can all be utilized to help
alleviate emotional and physical suffering and help to release
deeply held beliefs that no longer serve us. They also help us to
access emotions that have been deeply repressed and need to be
released. Myrrh oil, in particular, helps support your ability to express
yourself, making external (through voice and writing) what has been internal
(thoughts, feelings).. Essential oils derived from resins can also be anti-viral.
Some additional essential oils derived from resins include Balsam of Peru,
a viscous resin obtained by scorching or inflicting V-shaped wounds on the
bark of the trunk of the tree which triggers the tree to release the Balsam of
Peru resin to heal the tree’s lesions and Galbanum.

Page 20 — vibrantblueoils.com
WOOD AND BARK
Wood and Bark transport water and nutrients to leaves, stems
and flowers as well as providing structural support to the tree. It
is not surprising that essential oils derived from wood and bark
also help you conduct energy, provide balance and strengthen
your physical structure. For example, Birch oil is known for its
uplifting and stimulating properties and Cypress is known to
promote energy and vitality. Wood essential oils also support
internal contemplation, with oils like Cedarwood and Sandalwood.
Bark essential oils, like Cinnamon Bark supports healthy metabolic
function, are anti-infectious and help maintain a healthy immune system.

LEAVES, TWIGS AND NEEDLES

Leaves, Twigs, and Needles support plant respiration and
photosynthesis. This is the part of the tree or plant which
breathes and helps protect plants from water loss, storing
oxygen and nutrients. It is therefore not surprising that essential
oils made from leaves and needles help support your respiratory
system. For example, eucalyptus essential oil helps calm mucous
membranes, both loosening up and reducing mucus, so you can
breathe more easily. Similarly, Spruce, Pine and Fir Needles help
protect your body from water loss.
Essential oils made from leaves and needles are also known for their anti-
bacterial, antiseptic properties and their ability to ward off harmful predators
and energy while supporting your immune system. For example, research
has detailed the antibacterial and anti-parasitic nature of essential oils
derived from Myrtle leaves. Similarly, Manuka oil which comes from the
leaves of the Manuka tree, which is native to New Zealand is highly effective
against bacteria and fungi.
It’s also interesting to note that pine cones have been associated with the
pineal gland and spiritual expansion. It is even hypothesized that the name
of the pineal gland comes from its pine cone-like shape. Essential oils
derived from Pine are considered to be supportive for meditation, amplifying
intention or prayer, and for brain balance and health. Other essential oils
derived from leaves, twigs and needles include Bay, Bay Laurel, Bergamot,
Mint, Eucalyptus, Geranium,  Patchouli, Petitgrain, Cypress, Fir, Scotch Pine,
Spruce, Ravensara and Tea Tree™.

FLOWERS
Flowers support reproduction within a plant, attracting insects
for the purpose of pollination and producing fruit. Essential oils
derived from flowers and flowering herbs help us get in or stay
in harmony. They often carry a frequency of love, compassion,
forgiveness, emotional nourishment and beauty. As such,
essential oils derived from flowers and flowering herbs can
support heart opening for both self-love and attraction, acting as
natural aphrodisiacs. They show us our greatest potential and they
show us the power of acting from a place of love.

FLOWER BUDS
Flower buds are precursors to new growth. Buds are
made from meristem tissue, the part of a plant containing
undifferentiated cells. This makes bud cells ready for
rapid cell division, the action which fuels growth and the
development of different plant structures. Essential oils
derived from flower buds show similar healing adaptability. For
example, helichrysum essential oil, extracted from the flowers,
petals and buds of the plant, is known for its anti-inflammatory
properties and helping wounds heal more quickly.
Clove oil, derived from the flower buds of the clove tree, has regenerative
properties that help stimulate the brain and the autonomic nervous system.
Clove oil also helps support immune function, reduces pain and irritation and
improves blood flow.
Finally, essential oils derived from Lavender buds contain many regenerative,
antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which is the one of the reasons
they help to heal minor cuts and burns.

FLOWERING HERBS
Flowering Herbs like Basil, Clary Sage, Holy Basil, Hyssop,
Melissa, Marjoram, Oregano, Peppermint™, Rosemary, Sage,
Spearmint and Thyme, contain similar mood enhancing, mental
clarity, stress relief and immune supporting antiviral and
antibacterial properties.

CITRUS OILS
Citrus oils, extracted by cold-pressing the peels of citrus fruits, help
enhance your mood and balance your emotions. Citrus peels
serve to protect the underlying fruit from environmental threats
and potential predators and tend to be highly anti-bacterial
and contain high levels of antioxidants. This one reason that
citrus oils are so effective at boosting your immune system and
supporting cellular detoxification.
Citrus oils also help to boost mood and ease anxiety. For
example, Tangerine is extremely soothing citrus oil and other
emotionally calming citrus oils include Grapefruit, Lime, Lemon,
Orange, Litsea cubeba, Mandarin, and Bergamot.

Symptoms of Toxicity: The symptoms below indicate a high toxic burden that might
be improved by a detox. If you answer yes to one or more, you might consider a detox.

Allergies Lack of Energy Skin Rashes

Insomnia Poor Balance Fatigue
Nausea Difficulty Losing Weight Mild Depression
Anxiety Memory Loss Vision Problems
Kidney or Liver Problems Restlessness Headaches
Nervous Dizziness Muscle stiffness
Body aches and pains Mental Fog Weakened Immune System

7 CRITICAL DETOX MISTAKES AND HOW TO AVOID THEM WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

1 Detoxing Under Stress: There are 2 states of the nervous system: The Fight or Flight Sympathetic State and the Rest
and Digest Parasympathetic State. In order for the body to detoxify and heal, it needs to be in the rest and digest
parasympathetic state. You literally cannot heal when you are under stress. A key stressor and toxin creator is an
impaired digestive system. If you are not absorbing and assimilating your nutrients, it puts another stress on the
body and the undigested food particles add to the toxic burden.

2 Overburdening the Liver: The Liver plays a huge role in the detoxification effort, filtering toxins from blood and
neutralizing the toxins in preparation for elimination. But dumping more toxins into an already overworked liver can
be a recipe for disaster. The liver needs the energy and vitality to keep up with the increased toxic burden.

Not Supporting the Gall Bladder: The Gall Bladder concentrates the bile to help break down fat and carry toxins out
3 of the body. If the bile becomes too thick, it doesn’t flow as well and toxins (especially estrogen) don’t move out of
the system and often get reabsorbed.

4 Ignoring Emotional Release: The Detoxification process occurs on a physical, spiritual and emotional level and
can help uncover and express feelings, especially hidden frustrations, anger, resentments, or fear. Often, the more
toxins a person releases, the more stored emotion that is also released. It is important that these emotions are
allowed to be processed and released to avoid causing additional stress that would undermine the detoxification
process.

5 Neglecting the Lymphatic System: Interstitial lymph fluid flows through the lymph nodes where toxins are filtered
out. Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system does not have a heart to pump the fluid through the
body. The more you can help the lymph fluid flow, the more quickly you can move toxins out of the body.

6 Forgetting that Skin is a Major Detoxification Pathway: Sweat glands of the skin act are one of the body’s avenues
for elimination. The surface area of the skin covers 11,000 sq. feet, making sweating therapy effective to remove
toxins. By supporting the detoxification pathway via the skin can lessen the burden on other detox organs like the
liver and the kidneys.

7 Poor Sleep: Adequate, restful sleep is critical for the body to detoxify and heal. If you are not sleeping, you will not
detoxify. This means not only the ability to fall asleep, but also to stay asleep and achieve a restful REM state.

ABOUT
VIBRANT BLUE
OILS
DID YOU KNOW THAT IT TAKES
220 POUNDS OF LAVENDER FLOWERS
TO PRODUCE JUST ONE POUND
OF ESSENTIAL OIL?
Vibrant Blue Oils are properly extracted, organic, therapeutic grade oils
from wild-crafted, organic plants grown in their indigenous locations.

We source our oils through small, independently-owned, organic farms,

working directly with the small villages and farmers to ensure the integrity
and quality of the product. It is not just the purity, harvest and
distillation, but also the people, environment, and intention in essential
oil production that determines quality.

Small farmers often grow only one or two crops a year and therefore take
better care of their crops, thus producing higher quality crops and higher
quality essential oils. Working directly with the farmers also removes the
“Middle Man” and the potential for adulteration of the oils.

Vibrant Blue Oils are free from pesticides, chemical fertilizers, adulterants,
and added synthetic chemicals. We confirm this by performing GC/MS testing
on every batch.

All oils are sold as single species plants from the same farm and distillation
batch. Because of the high quality and purity of our oils, you may notice
slight changes in different batches due to the effects of weather conditions
on plant growth.

HOW WE FORMULATE BLENDS
Jodi Cohen has combined her training in nutritional therapy, functional
neurology, herbalism aromatherapy and other forms of energy medicine to
create unique proprietary blends of organic and wild-crafted essential oils to
balance different regions of the brain and organ systems in the body.

Building on the principle that food is medicine, herbs are concentrated food
and essential oils are concentrated herbs, Jodi further discovered that
blends of two or more single essential oils are often more powerful
than the individual oils. Blends synergistically combine single oils to create
something that is greater than the sum of its parts. The combination yields
not only the power of the combined chemical constituents and frequencies
but also the synergy of how they interact together. This means that the
respective powers of the individual oils change to enhance their energy. For
example, the anti-inflammatory effects of chamomile are increased when
combined with lavender.

Jodi’s process of combining oils in specific ratios creates a synergy that can
shift organs in the body and regions of the brain to support physiological
function and emotional balance.

Drawing on her deep understanding of the healing properties of plants, Jodi

determines how the oils work with the brain and body, and then creates a
synergy based on very specific ratios of oil to support different brain and
bodily functions.

Vibrant Blue Oils formulations are then fine-tuned and refined for use by
both practitioners and individuals. Vibrant Blue Oils has grown primarily
through word of mouth referrals from doctors, chiropractors, nurses,
nutritional therapists, acupuncturists, meditation and yoga instructors,
bodyworkers, energy medicine practitioners and those that have taken the
formulas themselves and have had great results.

HERE’S WHAT YOU
CAN DO NEXT:
STEP ONE:

Go to Vibrant Blue Oils to take advantage of

$10 off with discount code Liver10
on our powerful Detox Support Kit.
DETOX SUPPORT KIT contains three powerful oils – Parasympathetic™,
Liver™, Gall Bladder ™ which help support the organs of detoxification
for optimal function.

PARASYMPATHETIC STATE: Detoxification is a parasympathetic event.

You need to rest and digest in order to detoxify. You can’t heal under stress.
In addition to reducing external sources of stress during a detox, you can
apply the Parasympathetic blend to the vagal nerve (behind the earlobe
on the mastoid bone) before meals stimulates the parasympathetic nervous
system “rest and digest” state to promote optimal digestion, absorption and
assimilation of the nutrients necessary to help the body heal and put it in
optimal balance.

LIVER SUPPORT: The Liver plays a huge role in the detoxification effort,
filtering toxins from blood and neutralizing the toxins in preparation for
elimination. Liver helps support optimal health and vitality of the liver.
This is a great blend to support any kind of digestive repair effort that
would release extra toxins (like yeast die off), a detox cleanse or for anyone
who demonstrates liver stress symptoms like sensitivity to smells (smoke,
perfume, etc) and or chemicals or those who are easily intoxicated or hung
over.

GALL BLADDER SUPPORT: The Gall Bladder concentrates the bile to help
break down fat and carry toxins out of the body. If the bile becomes too
thick, it doesn’t flow as well and toxins don’t move out of the system as
efficiently. Gall Bladder supports the flow of bile and with it toxins out of the
body. Some indicators that Gall Bladder Flow might be a helpful blend for
you would be motion sickness, floating stools, avoiding fatty food like meat
or if you do eating fatty food, needing to use the restroom shortly after, pain
between shoulder blades, subtle headache above eyes.
