Job Description

Position: Special Education Early Interventionist Program Assignment: To provide early intervening services for identified students as per district Response to Intervention process/plan Scheduled Work Hours: 40 hours a week, schedule determined by campus needs Immediate Supervisor: Campus Director Close Working Relationship With: The Campus Student Success Team (SST) and the Special Education program/Special Education campus supervisor Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certification: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university 2. Valid Texas teaching certificate in the area of Special Education Experience: 1. Minimum 3 years teaching experience 2. Teaching experience in special education strongly preferred. 3. Strong background in reading and mathematics

General Responsibilities: 1. To assist in planning and implementing an individualized intervention plans designed to meet specific, targeted instruction for struggling students. 2. To provide direct instruction to students, identified by the SST, as needing early intervention services 3. To regularly monitor the progress of students and change instructional methods as needed for students’ success. 4. To maintain up to date record keeping and reporting to the SST and immediate supervisor. 5. To attend professional development, staff and in-service trainings 6. To maintain confidentiality at all times. 7. To follow the policies and procedures as outlined by the RES Employee Handbook.

Special Qualifications: 1. Demonstrate proficiency in grade level curriculum. 2. Demonstrate ability to complete required documentation as determined by the district’s Response to Intervention (RTI) program 3. Demonstrate ability to maintain documentation of services 4. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, students, and parents 5. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with and receive guidance from director and special education supervisor 6. Demonstrate ability to interpret policies, procedures, and data 7. Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills 8. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in implementing multiple and diverse programs including computer based instruction, Excel, Word, Acrobat, and internet based document resources and storage.
