Systems
Product range for passive fire protection

Peter Dengler, fischerwerke, Waldachtal

In early 2007 fischerwerke launched a new
product range for passive fire protection.
The fischer FIRE STOP products offer
comprehensive fire protection solutions for
building service installations, thereby
complementing the SaMontec and fixing
system product lines. As a full-range
supplier, fischer now offers a complete
product assortment with fire approvals.

DIN 4102 Test Standard

Test standard 4102 includes different parts. Building materials are classified in non-flammable (A1, A2) and flammable (B1, B2, B3) classes of building materials.
Building members can be composed of different building materials. The relevant parts of DIN 4102 are listed below.

The duration of fire resistance specifies the resistance to fire over a certain period of time (in minutes).
Building components are classified in fire resistance classes (F 30 – F 180 or e.g. R90, L90, S30, K90 . . . ).
