Public Power San Diego advocates for non-profit community-owned gas and electric utilities in our
City. We condemn in the strongest terms the attack on the Capitol building by white supremacists,
insurrectionists, and domestic terrorists on January 6, 2021. We witnessed our democracy under
assault by those who want to undermine and discredit the valid presidential 2020 election results.

Our legislators, sworn to protect our Constitution and our republic, were terrorized. President Trump
incited his supporters to revolt and invade the Capitol building in an attempt to overturn an election.

Now, we must act to preserve, defend, and protect our Constitution and our rights as citizens of the
United States of America.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSMEMBER NOW and demand ACTION! Vice President Pence and the Trump
Cabinet must invoke the 25th amendment, impeachment charges need to be brought against President
Trump, and charges should be brought against the rioters who participated in the mob assault on our
Capitol and our democracy, as well as the attacks on Capitol police, which cost one of them his life.

We witnessed something worse than unpatriotic behavior. What happened last Wednesday is a
threat to our civility, system of elections, the bedrock of our democracy. These disruptions to our
constitutional proceedings and the peaceful transition of power require prosecutions to the full
extent of the law.

• Defend and protect the integrity of our elections and our Constitution
• Invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution or impeach and convict President Trump to remove
him from office
• Censure and demand the resignation of the House and Senate members for their attempt to
disenfranchise the voters of Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania during the certification session
• Rebut President Trump’s misinformation and alternative facts effectively
• Bring charges against the insurrectionists who participated in the undemocratic, reckless, violent, and
deadly behavior in Washington D.C.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of
mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
