Organised By

This proverb is applicable more so to long-term planning for businesses. Given the high capital investment requirement and uncertainty in execution, managers all over the world look for scientific and proven ways to make the best decision to maximize benefits, returns to the company and shareholders. As most of strategic (more than 5 years planning horizon) plan and tactical (6 months to 1 year) plan are difficult to change after the implementation, the cost of failures are enormous. “Is my plan the best? … is it optimal one?” is the question managers and top-level executives face every day. Decision science, a branch of Mathematics, with a ubiquitous tool like Excel, can help solve many of the business planning problems with ease. EXCEL brings the power of simplicity to the managers in solving complex business planning problems. Rather than relying on software professionals and business consultants, it gives the flexibility and freedom to change the variables and see results in no time. This one-day hands-on workshop will introduce the participants to the basics of decision science, the art and science of business planning using decision science and Microsoft Excel. Loaded with real world case discussions, the participants can use the learning right away for their businesses. Fortune 500 companies such as GE Research, Schneider National, Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., Procter & Gamble, UPS, Hewlett-Packard use these techniques for various planning.
