Dramatic reduction of arrivals and of number of residents in all structures of the country, great decongestion of the Aegean islands and Evros, significant increase of returns-deportations-relocations, transfers, acceleration of asylum procedures. Within a year, all indicators of migration management are positive, despite the great difficulties and challenges in the first quarter of 2020 - also due to Covid-19. The flows have decreased by 80%, more than half of the asylum seekers live in the islands and Evros, while a total of 11,304 people have left the country. Asylum procedures were accelerated by 65% while pending service was reduced by 43%.
Decongestions Arrivals Residents
One of the biggest challenges, now mostly tackled, was the decongestion of the Aegean islands. Compared to 2019, the total number of residents decreased by 60%. In Kos and Leros the reduction reached 79% and 76% respectively

. Transfers to the mainland
Transfers to the mainland in December 2020 amounted to 610. Since the beginning of the year the total transfers reached 33,617. It is pointed out that for the whole of 2019 the transfers reached only 21,504 (increase of 56%).
