Fade into Black Scarf By Sharon Hoelzle

Materials: Size 15 circular needle, one ball of each of the following yarns: Lion Brand Incredible ribbon, Lion Brand Jiffy, Plymouth Yarn 24 Karat and Phentex yarn Chunky Ragg or any group of yarns that complement each other.

Scarf is worked long ways in multiples of 4. Length is about 85” before fringe, width is 3 ½ “

Cast on 224 sts (or any multiple of 4 for desired length) Work in K2, P2 rib for about 1 inch. Add next color and knit next row in 2x2 rib with both strands held together. Cut original color at end of row and continue for about ½ and inch in new color. Add next color, again holding two strands together and cutting original yarn at end of row. Work for about ½ an inch. Add last color, again holding two strands together and cutting previous yarn at end of row. Continue in rib pattern for about 1 inch and bind off.

Add fringe in fade pattern so each yarn is matched up to the yarn of the scarf.
