A Columbia Baptist Association Missions Event July 10-July 16, 2011

Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leader Information Sheet
First of all, thank you for showing an interest in being apart of WIRED 2011. We realize that there are numerous ministry events throughout the summer in which you could serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What we are o ering through WIRED 2011 is the unique opportunity to serve the people within our own community and help disciple students from local churches in Bible study and servant leadership. The core of WIRED is “wiring” together Christian students from all over the Wiregrass area for one common purpose…Reaching People for Christ! Its goal is to tell the good news of Christ not to any community, but OUR OWN, in an e ort to wire people into the body of believers within the Wiregrass area. It’s not just about building up any student to go do great things for Christ, but it is about building up a student that is a part of our own community who, when wired together with other passionate Christian students from the Wiregrass area, will grow His kingdom and continue to build the church of tomorrow...TODAY! So how will our Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leaders help us accomplish that goal? Every Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leader will have two very important roles to play to make sure that WIRED 2011 is a success. The rst role is that of a Bible Study Leader for the ministry tract group you will be assigned to lead during the entire week of WIRED. From 8:45-9:45 every morning, you will lead your ministry tract group in a Bible study that will be entirely focused on how all of us within the body of Christ are all wired together in service and love. These small groups will have between 12-20 students and will give you the opportunity everyday to show them through scripture the di erent ways in which we are all wired together through Christ. Of course some of that hour will have to be allotted to go over the site in which you will be working that day. This will hopefully make sure that everyone is on the same page and understands their role in that day’s ministry tract. The other major role that you would be responsible for is being the Ministry Site Leader for your group everyday. On your application you will see that there are three di erent ministry tracts for Wired 2011, which include Social Ministry, Children’s Ministry-VBS, Children’s Ministry-Games & Recreation, Painting, Roo ng and Construction. You will have the opportunity to give your preference on which of these tracts you would like to lead during your participation in WIRED by sharing with us a short statement of your faith and why you feel that God is calling you to lead that ministry tract in this year’s event. Every ministry tract team will be on site from 10 AM – 4 PM everyday, and it will be your responsibility to motivate, inspire and lead these students in whichever ministry tract you will be apart of. Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leaders will also be asked to help make sure that all students come into worship reverently and are seated in their appropriate seats. After the worship time every night Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leaders will not be required to stay in the housing with the students attending WIRED, but may be asked to help with some of the Nightlife activities that will be happening between 9 -10 pm in the gyms.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
WIRED 2011 will o er one week of extensive training for all of our Ministry Tract and Bible Study Leaders. The week of July 5-8 has been set aside to make sure every leader has been appropriately trained in the Bible study for the week, student management and disciplinary procedures, as well as site preparation for the next week of ministry events. In an attempt to help those individuals who would like to be used as a Ministry Track Leader but can’t take two weeks o from their summer jobs, WIRED will o er both a day and evening session throughout the week. The day sessions will be from 9 am – 4 pm and the evening sessions will be from 6 pm – 10 pm. On Tuesday, the WIRED sta will meet together to discuss the Bible study to be taught the following week of camp. Each sta member will receive a copy of the WIRED 2011 Bible study by the end of May. It will be expected of each sta member to read this study, make notes regarding the study and to prepare a teaching outline before getting to this week of training. The two days in which we devote to going over the Bible study will give us as a sta the opportunity to share what we have learned through our individual studies and share with each other how we are going to present our lessons to our ministry tract. Hopefully, this will allow for a spirited discussion on each day’s Bible Study and give some of us a few new ideas for our ministry tracts Bible Study time. On Wednesday our entire focus will be on how to manage students within our individual group Bible Study times and at our ministry sites. There will be a wide range of ages attending this mission event, so it is going to be important for all sta members to have a good idea about how to handle student issues that may come up during the week. Unfortunately, we will also have to set the parameters for when and how to take disciplinary actions with the students attending WIRED 2011. All Ministry Tract and Bible Study Leaders will be our rst line of defense for any problems that may occur during our mission’s week and we want to make sure that you are adequately prepared. Thursday and Friday of that week will be on site preparation at all ministry tract sites throughout the Wiregrass. In some cases, Ministry Tracts will be at one site the entire week working on PCY projects and others like Children’s Ministry Tracts may be going to a di erent site everyday. So depending on which ministry tract you are assigned to, you may be preparing one site or up to ve di erent sites for following week. A lot of the work in preparation will be done prior to this week of training but it most de antly will be a packed couple of days. The schedule of events for WIRED 2011 can be found on the web site at www.wiredweek.org. All Ministry Tract & Bible Study Leaders will need to arrive at Ridgecrest Baptist Church no later than 2 PM on Sunday, June 27th. This will allow you to have time to put the nishing touches on your preparations for your Ministry tracts before they start to arrive at 3 PM. There will be a two hour training session with your ministry tract on Sunday night before we all go into our Opening Celebration in the Ridgecrest Worship Center. Thank you for your interest in participating as a Ministry Tract and Bible Study Leader for WIRED 2011. We look forward to meeting and serving along side you for this unbelievable ministry opportunity.
