Best Upright Vacuum List Published by Vacuum Cleaner Advisor

Finding the best upright vacuum can be a daunting task, especially given the large number of vacuum cleaners on the market today. Vacuum Cleaner Advisor has just published its Best Upright Vacuum list to assist consumers in their search for the right machine. Seattle, WA, February 24, 2011 --( Finding the right upright vacuum cleaner can be a difficult task. There are hundreds on the market and each is hailed as the solution to everyone's vacuuming needs. However, the fact is that many of them are simply not up to the task. With a little hard work and research though, it is possible to find the right machine. Vacuum Cleaner Advisor sorts through the marketing smoke and mirrors to accurately identify the best vacuum cleaners for specific consumer needs, and today, has announced its list of Best Upright Vacuums. Ten vacuum cleaners made the website's cut. Cost, warranty length, consumer ratings and features were all considered. Each machine on the list scored very well in most if not all of these areas. Prices of the units range from less than $100 to over $400. The Best Upright Vacuum list is dominated by Hoover, Dyson and Bissell, but there are a few surprises. The number one choice for best upright vacuum is the Hoover UH30010COM. This machine gets top marks from consumers, has a lengthy warranty and is not too expensive. It is a combination upright and canister vacuum, featuring a portable canister that can be carried over the shoulder. Close contenders for top spot include the Dyson DC25 Ball and the Dyson DC25 Animal. These are almost the same vacuum but the Animal's features make it more suitable for households with pets. Miele, a company noted for making exemplary canister vacuum cleaners, also managed to rank an upright machine in the top ten. A major surprise on the list is the Kompressor Pet Care LuV200R by LG, a Korean company better known for its TVs and appliances. However LG appears to have done its homework. The bagless LuV200R has cyclonic suction, washable filters, a longer-than-usual power cord, HEPA filtration, and a lengthy 5-year warranty. In addition, it incorporates a motorized compression system to compact dust and dirt, an innovative idea that results in less messy and less frequent dust canister emptying. A number of less expensive yet still very capable machines round out the list. These include the Hoover U5140900 Tempo Widepath, the Bissell Cleanview Helix Deluxe 21K3, the Bissell Healthy Home 16N5 and the Shark Navigator. The Hoover U5140900 and the Bissell 21K3 can usually be found for $100 or less while the Bissell 16N5 and the Shark Navigator are frequently under $200.
