“1E’s tools add significant value around patch management, simplified branch designs and desktop migration. Having been a trusted Microsoft partner for over five years, 1E’s track record in consultancy and software solutions comes highly recommended.” Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Management & Security Division, Microsoft

Microsoft® Windows 7 is the highest quality Windows® release to date, offering many new and enhanced features. By upgrading to Windows 7, your organization will rapidly achieve increases in productivity that translate into both cost savings and revenue growth. But migrating to Windows 7 can impose challenges on any organization, especially in planning, managing and automating the deployment. This is where real experience counts. By working with our consultants you can quickly build a cohesive strategy to deploy your new operating system, knowing that you have ensured the compatibility of all your mission critical hardware, desktop applications and data. Windows 7 Migration Services from 1E builds on the installation capabilities of ConfigMgr OS Deployment and the Deployment Toolkit with innovative software solutions like Nomad Enterprise™ and WakeUp™, extending zero-touch deployment throughout your environment, even to remote branches, without the need for site visits or servers. Our Windows 7 Migration Services ensure that your desktop transition can be completed rapidly, reliably and to a predefined timescale. Our tried-and-tested framework covers four elements; Assessment, Preparation, Pilot and Deployment. Each element can be delivered standalone, to give you complete freedom and flexibility, or delivered together to build into a comprehensive solution for your Windows 7 roll-out.

Assessment
Our five-day fixed-price readiness assessment will review all your current infrastructure and applications, including your existing ConfigMgr and Active Directory environments, to deliver an in-depth view of the technical and business requirements involved in your planned Windows 7 deployment. This assessment phase builds an initial justification, reviewing both the processes involved in application compatibility testing, your current applications and desktop hardware and your likely training requirements. Leveraging our OS deployment knowledge and expert services, the assessment concludes with a report highlighting everything you’ll need to deploy Windows 7, the timescales and likely costs involved and our key recommendations.

for all necessary desktop and laptop models. Work now saves time later so this phase also includes the development, review and testing of your deployment plan, including operational planning to ensure staff are prepared for day-today migration, provisioning and break-fix tasks. We will also help your teams develop a Windows 7 image and all necessary drivers, prepare user migration templates and demonstrate the various zero-touch deployment options available. We will also create a technical documentation library, so you have a full record of all technical configurations for your future reference.

the migration. Our pilot is the key to streamlining your planned migration to Windows 7, ensuring the best experience for pilot users and helping to provide positive project justification to business decision makers in your organization. The pilot also gives you a chance to test drive our automated desktop deployment platform in your production environment.

Deployment
Through this final phase we maintain a hands-on approach, guiding, assisting and recommending as required to ensure your deployment goes as smoothly as possible. In order to support the handover, training will be delivered to your administration and support staff based on the requirements originally identified in the assessment phase, complementing the technical skills transfer that has taken place throughout each of the previous phases. Last, but by no means least, we will undertake a joint project review to ensure that your Windows 7 deployment project has met the technical and business requirements that were identified in the original assessment.

Pilot
Once the preparation phase is complete, you’ll be ready for a more aggressive roll-out. Our consultants will help your project team prepare for and then complete a production pilot deployment for an agreed number of PCs in an agreed timeframe, hand-holding you every step of the way. The pilot phase also includes technology ‘clinics’ to demonstrate Windows 7 to your pilot users and to answer any questions they have ahead of

Preparation
Preparation is the key to any successful delivery of Windows 7, so once assessment is complete we will work closely with you to develop a paper-based design - testing and validating that design in a lab
