Father Theophile Verbist, the founder of the CICM Catholic Missionary
Institute, had spent his life for the mission work in China. Ever since he desires to
serve God in priesthood service for the care of the poor, more so in propagating
the Catholic faith in the communist country, especially in China's regions, is what
I find remarkable and praiseworthy of him. All the rest of his life is devoted to the
care of the poor, attended the sick people's miseries, and had overcome hardships
