Principal Hicks and Assistant Principal Kwesiga will be out for an undetermined amount of time. During this time, ‘Augusta Fells will continue to be in good hands with Ms, Rudean Harris, who will serve as interim school leader starting today, September 19" Ms, Harris began her career with Baltimore City Public Schools in July 2006 at W.E.B. DuBois High School as a math teacher. She built her capacity as an instructional leader there for ten years, During the 2013-14 school year, she was appointed as the Managing Assistant Principal of W.E.B. DuBois School. She served in that capacity for two years before transferring to Digital Harbor High School as an Assistant Principal. Ms. Harris believes whole heartedly in the quote by Marva Collins, “There is a brilliant child locked inside every student.” In the year ahead, Mss. Harris will make sure that Augusta Fells students are challenged, supported, and given what they need to do their best. Through partnership with you and the entire school community, I know that Ms, Harris can make your school an even better place for our students to lear and grow. We'll be hosting meetings for students and staff today, Thursday, September 19, where you can ‘meet Mrs. Harris and ask questions. We will host an additional parent and student meetings as well as a community meeting during the week of 9/23/19. Notifications will be sent out with the dates and times of this meetings.
