THE FUTURE WE WANT

The year 2020 marks the

organization's 75 year
anniversary, and Secretary-
General Antonio Guterres has
called for a global
conversation on to reflect on
"the future we want",
encouraging youth
participation.
TAKE NOTE

“Together we can learn from

peoples across the world
how we can improve in
tackling the global
challenges of our time.”
- Secretary-General António Guterres
What kind of future do we
want to create?
What world do we want to be handed
& what world do we want to hand over
to the next generation.

Are we on track?
3 Big What are the markers that will

Questions determine success and how can we

divide the main goal into smaller tasks.

What action is needed to

bridge the gap?
Outline these steps and actions, as
well as the tools & resources needed,
to shape this future starting today.
Using these framing
questions as a springboard,
we aim to produce actionable
solutions to the Secretary-
General's 5 main questions
The SG's 5 Main Questions
1) Overall, do you think people in 2045 will be better off, worse
off or about the same as today?

2) Picture the world in 2045, when the UN will turn 100: what
three things do you most want to see?

3) What are the main obstacles and challenges you think will
most affect this vision?

4) What is the role of global cooperation – and in particular the

UN – in managing these issues?

5) What one thing would you advise the SG to prioritize to

address the issues that we have discussed today?
