Importance of Technical Education in

Pakistan
The aim of technical education is to provide instruction and training in skills that have a practical utility. It
helps us to meet the needs of the industrial age. Technical education is very important in the modern age.
All other countries are rich and prosperous because of progress in technical education. This education
produces engineers, builders, doctors, mechanics, and technicians, who are very useful in an industrial
society.

It is the only answer to the problems of our expanding economy. Technical education produces doers and
workers. These workers make real and important contribution to the welfare of society. Technical
education promotes the material prosperity and economic advancement. People begin to have faith in the
dignity of labour. Technical education makes a country rich, prosperous and resourceful. Technical
education thus develops and improves indigenous trade.

In Pakistan there is lack of technical education. People don’t consider this field or are ashamed of
adopting this field. We should join this field proudly. Today youngsters in Pakistan always think of office
jobs and they dislike practical work or to work in factories and this is also one of the reasons that
unemployment is widely spread in our country. Poverty is due to the negligence of technical education.

Therefore it is necessary that technical institutes should be developed and secondly the idea of dignity of
labor should be popularized. We must keep in mind that progress is only possible through technical
education.  It is high time that people should take more and more interest in technical education to make
our country strong technically and economically.

How Spend My Leisure

Leisure is the spare time available at our disposal. Different people have different
ideas and different methods of spending their leisure time. Though people are busy
in different kinds of work, time is also available which may be termed as .leisure
time. For students, in particular, the question of spending their leisure time for a
good purpose is Significant. Some students pass their leisure in gossip and
loitering, some go to see movies, some play cards and some students stand on the
corners of the roads and streets without any aim whatsoever, their methods of
spending the leisure are not worthy. The leisure time should be spent by joining
together and attending some programmes having educational, cultural and
recreational values of a high order. I spend my leisure in visiting important places,
historical monuments and other important places like Jantar Mantar, Red Fort, Raj
Ghat, etc. Sometimes, I go to a library to spend my leisure. A very good library to
spend my leisure time is the American Center library where a large number of
magazines and books are available. There is an arrangement there even to watch
video cassettes without the sound. The sound can, however, be heard by you
through the ear-phone you may plug to your ears. These video cassettes are of
tremendous educative value. Like any other spheres of activities, a proper planning
for spending the leisure is an important aspect of human life.

No conscious person in the world can advocate the practice of adopting unfair
means in the examination. It is a great problem in our country. It is a national
problem. None can support it because real education is not possible through
adopting unfair means in the examination. I also do not support unfair means in
the examination. Adopting unfair means in the examination is an evil practice and
it degrades the moral values of students. There are many reasons for adopting
unfair means. The number of efficient teachers is not sufficient to teach a large
number of students. Besides, students do not properly prepare the lessons; they
waste time in gossiping and keep away from classrooms. Many students plunge
into politics mongering. They want only to get a certificate or a degree by hook or
by crook. At first; our education system should be modified. Our sense of morality
should be developed. Public awareness must be raised against copying in the
examination Exemplary punishment should be given to those who are involved in
copying. Recently the authorities have taken some effective measures to prevent
unfair means. The whole system of examination has changed. Now students are
to go to other institutions for their centers. Teachers and students are given the
threat to be punished severely for taking to unfair means. Now, students seem to
be motivated to learn. Teachers are free from anxiety and the examinations are
being held in a congenial atmosphere free from unfair means. I think these
preventive measures will improve the situation gradually. It is a positive message
for us all that with the change in the syllabus and system, the trend of the
previous dark system has improved a lot.
