& The Mobile Clinic

Mobile Clinic

e clinic has been well received and has been providing its valuable service to thousands at the various factories throughout KZ . he clinic goes to a site on each day of the week and sometimes visits more than one site on one day. We deal mostly with the Forestry Industry. We manage to visit places like Greytown; ew Hanover; Seven aks; Giants astle; Underberg; Ixopo; Richmond; urry¶s Post and pophomeni. We structure the visits to suit the factories/our patients. Because of the nature of their work, the forest workers are not always at the same site. We try to go them, wherever they have been stationed for the day. o date we have Administered Primary Health care to 23 342 patients (cumulative). he clinic patients appreciate the clinic so much. Below are some of the things they say about the clinic. Anecdotes: ³Before the Mobile Clinic started visiting us, we had to walk for kilometres to get to the clinic and wait in a long queue to be seen by the nursing sisters.´ ³We used to lose out on a full day at work because we had to go somewhere else when we¶re ill. Now the clinic just comes to us.´

Our Strategy
From our past experiences with the factories, we have learned that the peer Education Programme works very well with the clinic. o gain momentum with the use of the clinic, we start of with the Peer Educator programme and we then introduce the clinic.
