Mr. Afaq has over 5+ years of work experience in social, environment & agriculture allied
sector such as social and environmental assessment, environmental impact assessment, social
and environmental management plan, municipal solid waste management, soil quality
monitoring, surface & ground water quality monitoring, air quality monitoring, water
resource management, participatory irrigation management, assessment of Water User
Association (WUA), NGO’s officials & UPID officials and monitoring & evaluation.
Monitoring and evaluation of implementation progress of the project and their impacts at
grass root level. He was involved in preparation of project proposals, prepared guidelines for
different sectors, knowledge of data collection tools/ techniques, (i.e. GPS, ArcGIS, google

quality monitoring), field visits, household survey, site assessment, data collection, data

1. Impact Assessment of Farmers Participatory Action Research Programme
(FRARP): The project covers about 5000 Farmer’s Participatory Action Research
Program initiated by 60 institutes in 357 districts of 25 States of India. Major
objectives of this assignment are to assume full responsibility for impact assessment of
the above mentioned programmes of Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR); to assess
the benefits accrued out of FPARP; to assess the technologies used in the FPARP
and; to recommend action plan for scale up of technologies. In order to meet the above
objectives, MoWR has formulated the scope of work includes; (i) to analyse the data,
agro - climatic zone-wise; (ii) to verify ground reality of the impact of the
programmes implemented under Farmers’ Participatory Action Research Programme;
(iii) to study pre and post economic conditions of the villages/ farmers benefitted by
the Programmes; (iv) to get the feedback from the farmers benefitted by the
Programmes; (v) to carry out comparative study of the technologies adopted in
different Programmes and make recommendations for their scaling up , agro-
climatic zone-wise and; (vi) to suggest Action Plan for replication of the best
technologies zone-wise.

Role and Responsibility: Responsible for all activities like data collection, Site visits,
data analysis, contribution in preparation of interim report & final report and
coordination with FRARP officers for the states of Uttar Pradesh.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation of The Diversified Agricultural Support Project-II,
Uttar Pradesh (Zone-IV): The project is implemented in 9 districts of Uttar
Pradesh such as Etah, Firozabad, Bulandshahar, Bijnore, Gautm Budh Nagar, Jyotiba
Phule Nagar, Mathura, Moradabad and Rampur which cover seven line departments
e.g. Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy development, Food
processing and Mandi board.

client, Site visits, Data collection, Data Analysis, Preparation of Reports and
Participate in meeting.

4. Environmental Master Plan (EMP) for state of Himachal Pradesh, India: The
following tasks to be carried out for preparation EMP such as Identification of
different eco-zones with specific environment attributes, Preparation of a detailed
resource inventories covering all environment parameters, Inventorization of needs of
different sections of the population, Trend analysis of cumulative environment
degradation, Vulnerability assessment in the context of air, water and land, to establish
differential development zones, Documentation of potential threats and new

development policies, Formulation of appropriate development criteria for
optimization of resource use, Establishing inter linkages between different sectors and
points of integration between them, Preparation of sectoral guidelines to mainstream
environment parameters in development activities, Forecasting for externalities and
planning for corrective measures such as those arising from climatic changes and
Finalization of a comprehensive integrated EMP.

Role and Responsibility: Collection of secondary data, Data Analysis, Identification


of environmental issues and preparation of baseline report for different sectors. He is
responsible for preparation of the guidelines for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry &
Livestock and Horticulture sector. Mr. Afaq is also responsible for preparation of the
sector specific baseline reports like Tourism; Horticulture; Agriculture; Animal
Husbandry; Fisheries; Road and Transport; Irrigation and Public Health; Industry;
Forest & Wild Life; Wetland; Biomedical waste and Municipal Solid waste

5. Ghaghra-Gomti Basin Social and Environmental Assessment: Basin Social and
Environmental Assessment (BSEA) have been undertaken for the Ghagra-Gomti
River Basin covering 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh. It has been undertaken of Uttar
Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring Project (UPWSRP), Department of Irrigation
Government of Uttar Pradesh, which is funded by World Bank.

Role and Responsibility: Coordination with client, Participate in meeting, office


management, Household survey, Institutional survey, Site visits, Data collection, Data
Analysis, and Preparation of Reports. Develop performance indicators and preparation
of monthly progress report. Mr. Afaq is also responsible for contribution of
environment sector expertise in preparation of the reports viz. Inception Report;
Interim Report; Baseline Social and Environmental Assessment Report; Assessment of
Water User Association (WUA’s) Report; Assessment of Uttar Pradesh Irrigation
Department (UPID) officials Report; Assessment of Non-Government Organization’s
(NGO’s) officials Reports; Social and Environmental Assessment Report (Based on
Primary data); Sector Specific Reports; Risk Assessment Report; Human
Development Index (HDI) Report; Draft final Report and; Final Report.

6. Social & Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) for Ghaghra Gomti Basin:
Social and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) have been prepared for the
entire Ghagra-Gomti River Basin covering 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

7. Soil, Surface & Ground Water Quality Monitoring: The surface and ground water
quality monitoring was carried out for 5 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These districts
are Pratapgarh, Barabanki, Raebareli, Sultanpur and Jaunpur.

collection of samples and their monitoring/ analysis, Site visits, Data collection, Data
