Assets FAQ: Transactions
Additions 1. Is it possible to retire an asset in the same period it is added? Answer: No. You cannot retire the asset in the period it was added because there has been no depreciation calculated so there is nothing to retire. As no depreciation has been calculated on the asset you can simply delete the asset. To ensure data integrity and an adequate audit trail only assets added in the current period can be deleted.
