Two consecutive Thursday’s (7:00-10:00pm )
and Two consecutive Saturday’s (9:00am-3:00pm) All four (4) sessions must be completed to receive a diploma via and be ready for the next step in volunteer counseling at Gateway. Here are answers to some questions you may have:
• What? Training in the following
o The Biblical view of the sanctity of human life o Counseling basics o Crisis intervention relative to pregnancy o Developing good listening skills o The ‘how’s’ and ‘why’s’ of biblical confrontation o HIV, condoms, RU-486 o The Planned Parenthood/Black American connection o Chastity counseling o Biblical post abortion healing o The adoption option o Counseling boyfriends/husbands o How to make a good referral o Avoiding the “Drama Triangle” o Sharing Christ with women in a crisis pregnancy plus .. much, much more! French and Spanish speaking volunteers are needed, as are male counselors. * Other areas of service besides peer counseling are available. • Where? Your home! Via Zoom • Cost? $25 per person, $35 for a married couple includes training, manual, and all other materials -- even the Gateway official pen!
• Commitment? Am I committing myself to working as a volunteer at Gateway?
NO - this training simply prepares you for service
• Registration deadline? Because classes are based on actual registrations we would
ask that you send in your registration and payment immediately. Faithfulness begins with making and keeping our commitments.
• Volunteer requirements? Beyond those to be explained in class (such as agreement
with the Gateway mission and vision) All Gateway Pregnancy Center volunteers must show evidence of being born again and be attending a Bible-believing church.
