Outcome 1 –-- Task 1

Introduction:-

Way back in those days, the organisations that performed in the competitive
environment were effectively used the competency of a manager. The manager role
has kept on changing from time to time and now a days people are exploring new
ways in the management field. There are basic two ways of administrating the
people and they are managing and leading.

A manager would also inform the people and the human force to do it according to
the objectives that are already set in an organisation. A manager would always look
into a human force and then try to direct them basing on all the objectives that are
included in the agenda of the tasks. Mostly, the managers would use all the formal or
logical way and they would help in challenging the risks and fear on taking the risks
and then there is always a fear for the managers in taking the risks on all the
organisational operations and the manager would work based on the strategy,
structure and the system in which they are working.

The four important skills for an manager are as follows:-


1. Time management:- This is an vital skill a manager needs to learn as this skill
would help in arranging, organising, budgeting and scheduling of the time for
a productive or effective work. Thus, this is important and the managers need
to be proactive as this will allow the person for planning their time in well
advance so that the to-do task would be achieved on the time frame.

Time would be accepted as a just an entity rather than resources as this is


unique before comparing to any other resources. The time is constant and
each individual has the same 24hrs a day. Thus, most of the authors had
suggested that you cannot buy, hire or rent time. In economic sense this
cannot be constructed on a marginal utility curve and thus the time is an
inelastic factor that is perishable or irreplaceable.

A time management is most critical for all the managers in a company, a


manager would quiet would not realise on the work that are done by their
subordinates. Thus a manager would not be able to manage on the work and
they carry on the subordinates instructions. So, if a manager would not be
using a time for managing things and would not be managing the staff without
the effective time management. So, the managers would delegate the time
properly to all the members by allocating the time and then making sure there
are good people getting the appropriate work on time and thus it would help
them in controlling and committing on time and ensuring there is a good
understanding of the people required for the management and then helping
them in handling the issues on time.

2. Running Meetings:-

Managers would need to possess the other skills that are essential for the
managers to work and ensure there is a good understanding of the events.
Managers would communicate in the meetings with the team members on
different issues that would make sure there is efficiency in the work and the
effectiveness of the task is informed to the team members. In meetings the
important thing is to monitor as well as review on the performance and
progress of each tasks that are assigned to the team members. Thus, this skill
ensures a manager in conducting the meetings better that would result on
reaching organisations objectives as well as satisfying their own personal
goals.

A management would encourage on running meetings as this would ensure


there is a good work climate that will help the organisation in improving things.
Thus the communication plays an important role in running meetings and it is
basically an engagement of commercial pursuit amongst two or more people.
Thus, the organisations would not obtain their core objective without proper
communication. Policies are formulated and planned on different scope of
ideas, debated and converse on the various key subjects and then the
alternatives are searched. Thus, it can achieved on a team with all the
multiple inputs received during the meetings.

3. Presentations:-

Presentation skills in one of the crucial role to perform in organizations which is
nothing but acting behalf of the organization where communications is very
necessary to give better presentations by which there may not be any bad image to
organization, gathering the information and motivate the members of team and
educate the team members about the topic to present, presentations skills a
necessary to control on audience and make sure they are listening with
concentrations. Particularly in answering questions to audience rather than escaping
to the questions which make poor presentations.

Before the presentations it is important to Collecting the information, preparing the


presentation by ppt or paper work and be prepare to clearly delivery require
information to the audience. Practicing before the mirror to know how we are
presenting, how we can give better.

While giving Presentations make sure audience got the point to know whether the
audience as are listing play some tricks like by asking the question in middle of
presentations by which concentrations of audience will be with presenter.

End of the presentations asking for questions hour and making clear picture of the
presentation and getting feedback and getting valuable information from audience
which helps in improving for next time presentations and point to considerations for
next presentations.

4. Stress management:-

Would action in the organisations and this will help in achieving the objectives
of the organisations and personal objectives and thus it is very important to
gain the confidence of the team members, so the employees will undergo
stress during such instances.

For example, if the management gives a task for the team and the manager of
the team tries to delegate the work to all the subordinates this work would not
go further for the progress. Thus the management would frequently check on
all the progress the team has done in the project and try to push the manager
for completing the tasks and get it done by the time frame and then the stress
for the team members increases as they would like to complete them on time
with more concentration on the task and deadline and thus the stress
increases.

Every individual act differently with the stress as more people could fight the
stress as their abilities to handle stress might be more than others. So, too
much of the stress would increase physical, psychological and emotional
problems.

Outcome 1 ---- Task 2

As the discussion in the earlier outcome, it is most important for us to discuss the
different skill how to improve and gain for us to become an effective manager and
thus help in improving the skills to further in the career. This skill might not be readily
available for the people to work and learn from and thus most of us would try to learn
from the skills and try to improve on them on time as this will help us to coordinate
and work together for a common purpose.
Outcome 2 ----- Task 3

The main aim of my personal and professional career is to become a good manager
who is effective in completing the tasks and ensures all the people in the
organisation grow positively. So, I have ensured that the skills that are needed for
the managers are studied harder and work in a way that it would benefit me in the
future. Thus, there are two important audits
Strength

• Builds and works on the new theories, tries new ideas and techniques.

• Looks out in-depth of the issues and tries to find out the various facts

• Could check out the various options and evaluate them

• Takes on the various opportunities to evaluate and experiment on things

• Sets various different goals and achieves them and looks to meet them
always.

• Is always independent.

Weakness

• Works and acts on various events without any caution to them.

• Does always override on the different tasks that are given or dedicated to the
others in the organisation.

• Always looks and undervalues other peoples personal feelings

• Is impatient

• The pragmatists would need a full control over the event

• Does work on all the events but need to be independent on them to work.

• Will not use the expertise of other people and the delegation part is not
efficient.
Pragmatist :

As a pragmatist my weakness is to use to override task of other assigned under


value other feel in work and I feel stress by doing work in pressure conditions which
casuses unable to complete the task within time. in organizations completion of task
in time is very important to have organization effectively, I can overcome this
weakness by using one of my strengths that is to complete the task within the time
availability, so first analysis the task and avalibility time to complete by which I can
come to know how to complete so that I can divide the work within team and set
some target or part of task completion in a particular time and setting up goals like
tasks and responsibilities or duties assigned, distributing the work to other colleges
by which we can save time and we can get more effective outcome.

Study skills audit

This will help me in understanding the different study skills that are needed and
required for being more comfortable and this will give us the areas where the
improvement is needed and thus I have undertaken this study skill audit. Thus, the
questionnaire that has different set of questions tries to look at the way the learning
gets imparted and it has answers in the form of yes or no.

This set of different form of knowing the study skill is given in the appendix of page 4.

Thus from the questionnaire I come to know that some skills need to be improved or
learnt and these are a few important things that will help me in improving the skills
that will help me in adding value for the making sure my dreams are achieved of
becoming a better manager.

I don’t have good skills in presenting things that would look much professional way.
So, a manager requires communication skills and for me to grow as an effective
manager my communication skills should be appropriate and help me in gaining the
topic and learning them to achieve them in getting my objectives correctly and help
me complete the things properly.

Outcome 3 –-- Task 4

The two analysis that are used in this assignment will help me in analysing my
personal development plan and help me in completing the tasks properly and this
had helped me in completing the works in a way that will help me in gaining the
different lessons that would complete the work on time. The two analysis techniques
which are widely used are as follows:-
SWOT analysis:-

The swot analysis is a tool that we generally use for general analysis and it helps us
in understanding the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. These had helped
me in understanding the things better during the course work and did help me in
compiling my activities that will help me in completing the tasks on time.

SMART analysis

The smart analysis is the one that helps in understanding the objective or reaching
things by making sure the things are done properly and this can be understood by
looking at the things in SMART analysis. The analysis dealing in telling things in a
specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. Thus the following can
be attributed for the smart analysis and it’s in the following ways.

My specific objective is to complete the tasks and learn the time management,
presentations, stress management, running’s meetings. These things are measured
by various monitoring system of our lecturer and the things that we have learnt from
the things on the group presentation and the other things that we learnt from the
course work. This is achievable as we would understand the things from doing part
time work and learning simultaneously that would help me in becoming a better
manager and complete the work in a way that will help in making sure the things are
done on time. This is very much relevant for me as this will help me in completing
the work on time and help in making sure the things are done on time. The activity is
Time Bond as we are going to do it in the course work and try to complete my
pgdms.

Outcome 3 --- Task 5

Personal Development plan:-

The four skills are important to me in making a good come back and the things on
the personal development are need to be seen from the way that are not understood
in words written but the things that were experienced by me as this gives me a long
and lasting information for gaining information and help me in doing the things that
will help me in completing the things on time and help me in making sure the things
are done properly on time.

The best way of doing things is from the time logs as the time logs had helped me in
understanding the things and completing the tasks on time and will ensure they are
working on the time and will help in completing the works on time.

The time is most important to analyse properly and help in completing the things on
time and the things that were monitored by me in understanding the situation in a
better way was a follow.

First Week, The time was mostly consumed by the internet work and other leisure
work as this would not help me in completing the things on time and other activities
and also most of the time in spending in sleep due to I think in whether change or not
able to feel comfort.

Second Week, by maintaining the time log, allotting the time for my daily activities
for first time utilizing the time in a schulding time I was unable to finish the work in
allocated time to activities, but I came to know how I can improve or finish the
activities in a allocated time

Third Week, from the week I have planed and designed the time log in a organised
way so that I can finish my regular daily activities with a defined time, by which I had
found much time to spend with other activities, example allocating the time for
regular activities like sleep, eating, preparing the food, washing and other daily
actives are done in defined time. After this I got much time to spend with other
actives like studying, internet, relaxation….

The time logs are given in the appendix that would help in completing the things on
the time events.

Improvements sited

Understanding the time importance, I came to know how can I utlize the time for
every activities and thing in defined time without any delay and able to feel good and
by this I have got streets relief, By monitoring the time log I am able to complete the
work which are committed to do, I have able to manage the time example like
finishing of assignment , going work and other daily activities on time.

By utilizing the time I have learned how to manage the time and how I
can organised, I understand my capabilities of doing thing.

The improvement is that I have completely became aware of time and understood
how to become a organised person and improve upon my professional skills that
would and this had helped me in completing the tasks on time.

Outcome 3 ---- Task 6

Conclusion:-
The Advance Professional development course had helped me to manage and
organise my daily activities and utilize the time to schedule myself in doing things in
a organised way, before I could not able find time to do thing and mess-up with
multiple task at a time by this skills I feel I can understand and well managing things
on time which is required to become a effective manager and Presentations skills
which is great job to attract the audience and make them to listen to the speech with
concentration, I have learn how presentations skills are important to become a
effective manager, Running meetings which is one of the crucial task to perform in
organization, running meeting skills is very essential to become a effective manager.
Stress management skills are necessary to do work on perfect and delivering the
quality output there should not be any stress while working on employees which is
one of the important skill to become an effective manager . This course had helped
in a good deal of finding out the ways of improving things and managing time in a
proper way. Although, professionalism comes by practising day by day and this had
helped me in practising the things on time and completing the things on time.
