You need real objects (one perfect italian pizza , one apple, one cucumber, one bar of chocolate,…) , for every student some small square white sheets, worksheet „Find pairs an paint …“ sheet „Pictures“
Step 1 The students count different things (tables, windows, chairs, pizza, apple,…) or persons (boys, girls, students) in the classroom and write the numbers on the black bord → natural numbers
Step 2 real objects
Cut the pizza in two, four,… parts. Problem: How can we write, that one object was cuted in two, four, … parts? How big is one part? → fraction Do the same with an apple, with a bar of chocolate, a cucumber and write the fractions.
Step 3 pictures Use the sheet „Pictures“.
Step 4 Make your own picture.
A) Take the small square sheet an folde it that arise two/ four… same size parts. Write in every part, how big it is. Paint ½; ¼, …. in your favourite colour. B) Draw a rectangle 12cm long and 2cm wide. Share it in two, three, four, six, twelfe parts. Write in every part, how big it is. Paint ½; ¼, …. in your favourite colour. C) Write a good sentence about a fraction with your favourite food: I take a ……. and cut it in ….. parts. Every part is ….. D) The students draw pictures to predetermined fractions.
