#8 MIDNIGHT EXPRESS LOSE THEIR SECOND SET SINCE THE START OF THE SEASON AND MAINTAINS A HEALTHY LEAD WITH OUR 2ND POSITION ROUND THIS WEEK !!
Table 1: #10 Disorderly Duo vs #7 Midnight Express: 8 Ball: After the Duo posted the first win in the set, the Midnight Express nailed back to back wins. The Duo won the fourth game before the Express finished the set, 4-2. 9 Ball: The Express continued to burn the table cloth as the nailed the first two games in the set which included a break and run out in game 2. The Duo made quick work winning game 4 with a 3-9 combo. The express finished the set winning the final two games for a 4-1 set win. 10 Ball: The Duo showed up in this set, as they matched the Express game for game. All the odd numbered games were won by the Duo and they win the final set, 4-3. This is only the second time the Midnight Express have lost a set in their matches. Nice job by the Duo in a tough match and very nice shooting by Midnight Express especially on the break and run out. Final Score: Midnight Express (13) Disorderly Due (8) Table 2: #9 Bad English vs #8 Table Wrestlers: 8 Ball: This set started as a back and forth match that went the distance with all 21 games being played. The Wresters took the first game with Bad English matching them with a win in game 2. The next four game were also exchanged with the Wrestler’s winning the odd numbered game and Bad English taking the even games until they broke the chain taking game 7 for a 4-3 set win. 9 Ball: This was a carbon copy of the 8 ball set. The Wrestlers again took the odd numbered games with Bad English taking the even. This time the Wrestlers finished the set winning game 7 for a 4-3 win. 10 Ball: The Wrestlers again took game one for the third set but then stalled out. Bad English took the next 3 games to take a 3-1 set. The Wrestlers nailed a 10 ball on the break in game 5 and took the game. They followed that with a win in game 6 to tie Bad English on the hill but hung up the 10 ball on a nice shot by Matt in game 7 that sat poised by the pocket for Bad English to take the final set 4-3. Nice shooting by two teams in a very close match. Final Score: Bad English (13) Table Wrestlers (11) Table 3: #4 Pond Creek Dogs vs #1 S & S Express: 8 Ball: This match went 1 less than the maximum amount of games that could be played in the match. Pond Creek took game 1 and then sat while S&S took game 2. Pond Creek found a win in game 3 and then the Express notched back to back wins to get on the hill. Pond Creek tied them with a win in game 6 but could not stop the Express from closing out the set, 4-3. 9 Ball: S&S opened the set winning game 1 with Pond Creek matching them in game 2. S&S took game 3 with a 5-9 combo a win in game 6 to get on the hill quickly with a 2 game lead. Pond Creek took game 5 but again could not stop the Express as the won game 6 with another 5-9 combo and the set, 4-2. 10 Ball: The Express jumped out quickly taking the first two games but they stalled. The Pond Creek Dogs took the next three games to get on the hill and have a shot at taking the set. S&S like other games fought back and took the final two games to take the set, 4-3. This was another tough match up between two decent teams. Final Score: S & S Express (15) Pond Creek Dogs (8) Table 4: #2 Straight Shooters vs # 6 Samuel Adams: 8 Ball: This set started out with both teams exchanging the first 4 games. The Adams team then stopped the Shooters taking the final two games to win the set 4-2. 9 Ball: The Adams team continued to make good shots and took the first two games of the set for four in row. But never count the Shooters out as they have shown time after time their shooting ability to come back. Like the Adams team taking four in a row, that’s exactly what the Shooters did which included a 1-9 combo in game 4 and took the set 4-2 and tie up the match. 10 Ball: This must have inspired the Adams team as the came out hot nailing wins in the first three games to get to the hill. Straight Shooters found a win in game 4 and then sat down as the Adams took game 5 and the set 4-1, giving them the match. Good match by two good teams. Final Score: Samuel Adams (12) Straight Shooters (8) Table 5: #3 English Majors vs #5 Slapshot: 8 Ball: The Slapshot team after struggling last week came back to play some good pool and the Majors struggled for the second week in a row. Slapshot took the opening two games before the Majors got on board with a win in game 3. Slapshot took game 4 to get to the hill. The Majors took game 5 before Slapshot posted a win in game 6 to win the set 4-2. 9 Ball: This set belonged to Slapshot as they capitalized on every mistake that the Majors made and when the smoke cleared, it was a sweep by Slapshots 4-0. 10 Ball: Nick for the English Majors nailed the 10 ball on the break in game 1 but could not win the game. Slapshot took game 1 with a 8-10 combo, took game 2, added another combo win, a 4-10 in game 3 and held the Majors off the score sheet posting 8 straight wins and their second set shut out. A valiant effort by the English Majors and nice shooting by Slapshot in an good shooting executions. Final Score: Slapshot (15) English Majors (2)

Table 1: #12 Jack Ressler vs #7 Nick Pasque 8 Ball: This was a rematch from our position round a few weeks earlier with Nick looking for revenge. The players exchanged games with Jack hitting the hill first, but Nick drawing first blood taking the set, 4-3. 9 Ball: This was all Jack as he jumped out to a 2 game lead. Nick notched a win in game 3 and then Jack finished off the set winning the last 2 games for a 4-1 set win. 10 Ball: Jack opened with a win but Nick came right back with a 4-10 win in game 2. Jack won game 3 and then sat as Nick finished off the set for a 4-2 win. Good match between two evenly matched players. Final: Nick (11) Jack (10) Table 2: #5 Peter Ramonat vs #3 Jim Barkatt: 8 Ball: Peter jump into the lead right away taking the first game but then Jim got hot and started making 8 balls for wins in the next four games to win the set 4-1. 9 Ball: Both players exchanged the first four games in the set with Jim nailing a 4-9 in game 2. Peter then nailed a 1-9 in game 5 and finished off the set winning game 6. Peter takes the set 4-2. 10 Ball: Jim came out fired up in the set and before Peter knew what happened, Jim was sitting on the hill with a 3-0 lead. Peter started his comeback with a 4-10 win in game 4 won game 5 and then stalled as Jim finished off the set, 4-2. Good shooting by both in a close match. Final: Jim (12) Peter (8) Table 3: #6 Michael Servitto vs #2 John Surhigh: 8 Ball: Michael took game one and John came right back notching back to back wins to take the lead 2-1. Michael tied up the match with a win in game 4 but then John put together two good wins to take the set, 4-2. 9 Ball: John opened this set up winning game 1with Michael taking game 2. Again, John nailed back to back wins to take a 3-1 lead. Mike found 1 more win in game 5 before John finished the set for a 4-2 set win. 10 Ball: John notched 2 wins with Michael posting a win in game 3. They exchanged the next two games before John finished the set. 4-2. Good effort to Michael & nice shooting by John. Final: John (15) Michael (6) Table 7: #9 Matt Dessert vs #10 Walter Wnuk: 8 Ball: After taking the first game, Walter came firing back nailing win after win, taking the next three games to get on the hill. Matt made a charge taking the next two games but could not stop Walter from the final game and the set, 4-3. 9 Ball: Walter started this set off with a win. Matt made back to back 3-9 combo’s to take the lead. Walter tied the set but Matt finished off the set with back to back wins for a 4-2 set win. 10 Ball: Matt again led the way taking game 1. Walter took game 2 and Matt nailed a 2-10 in game 3 and a win in game 4. Walter posted 1 more win before it was over, Matt wins the set 4-2. Good shooting by both. Final: Matt (13) Walter (9)

Table 4: #4 Ed Servitto vs #1 Todd Cook: 8 Ball: Ed has had his problems in the past several weeks but put together a good match with a good shooter. Ed took game 1 but Todd came back strong and nailed 3 in a row. Ed slowed Todd one more time before it was over with Todd winning 42. 9 Ball: This set went back and forth with both players making the hill. Todd nailed a 2-9 in game 5. Ed tied Todd on the hill winning game 6 and then found some magic nailing a 2-9 combo in game 7 to finish the set with back to back wins and a 4-3 set win. 10 Ball: Ed took the first two games making it 4 in a row. Todd did what Ed did, win 4 in a row to take the set by a 4-2 win. Nice shooting by both in a close match. Final: Todd (13) Ed (9)

Table 6: #8 Mike Bates vs #11 Ray Ressler: 8 Ball: Mike jumped out quickly nailing the first two games. Ray tied it up with his own back to back wins. That’s how this set finished, Mike took the final two games to take the set 4-2. 9 Ball: Mike again opened the set taking game 1. Ray came right back and between some nice runs built up a 2 game lead as he took 3 games in a row to get to the hill. Mike posted one more win before Ray pulled the trigger and finished the set 4-2. 10 Ball: Mike opened with a win in game 1 with Ray matching him in game 2. It was all Mike at that point taking the next 3 games for a 4-1 set win. Good shooting by both players in a good match. Final: Mike (12) Ray (8)

Make up Game: #4 Ed Servitto vs #5 Peter Ramonat: This match went the distance as all 21 games were played. 8 Ball: Ed takes the set with a 4-3 win Good shooting by both players in a very close match. 9 Ball: Peter takes the set with a 4-3 win. 10 Ball: Ed comes back to take the last set 4-3. Final: Ed (13) Peter (12)

FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW, MIKE JERNIGAN CANNOT CAPITALIZE TO TAKE ALL THREE SETS AS DAVE EVANS LOSES THE FIRST THREE GAMES IN THE 8 BALL SET & COMES BACK TO SHOCK MIKE J TAKING THE NEXT FOUR GAMES TO WIN THE SET & HELP OUT 2ND PLACE PLAYERS GAIN GROUND!
Table 1: #5 Jim Vohs vs #13 Doug Johnson: 8 Ball: Doug started the set out nailing wins in the first two games of the set. Jim had his own intentions and followed Doug’s lead posting back to back wins in games 3 & 4. As the set started with back to back wins, it ends the same way as Doug finished off the set winning the final two games and a 4-2 set win. 9 Ball: Jim got off to a quick start as he nailed a 9 ball on the break in game 1. He then proceed to hold off Doug and post wins in the next two games to get to the hill. Doug took game 5 with a 2-9 combo and then watched Jim finish the set winning game 5 and a 4-1 set win. 10 Ball: Jim posted the first win and then it was all Doug. Doug won the next four games for a 4-1 set win and takes the match. Good shooting by both players in a close match. Final Score: Doug Johnson (11) Jim Vohs (8) Table 2: #12 Jim Pellerito vs #6 Gary Loverde: 8 Ball: Jim took the first game of the set and then Gary put together four straight wins to close out the set with a 4-1 win. 9 Ball: Jim again led the way opening the set with the first win. Gary continued to shoot well and took the next three games to climb on the hill. Jim slowed him down one more time taking game 5 trying to regroup and get back in the set. Gary took the game 6 to finish the set winning 4-2. 10 Ball: It was Gary this time drawing first blood as he notched back to back wins to open the set. Jim posted his only win in the set in game 3 as Gary finished off the set with back to back wins and a 4-1 set win. Good try by Jim and nice shooting Gary. Final Score: Gary Loverde (15) Jim Pellerito (4) Gary closes to within (1) of the leader Mike J. Table 3: #16 Jaret Wilson vs #3 John Killett: 8 Ball: This set belonged to Jaret from the opening break. He nailed wins in all four games keeping John Killett off the score sheet with a 4-0 set win. 9 Ball: John started this set off with a win. Jaret tied him with a win in game 2. The players exchanged the next two games before John seemed to get a few breaks from Jaret and took advantage of them, posting back to back wins to take the set, 4-2. 10 Ball: John again led the way taking game 1. Jaret popped in a 4-10 combo in game 2 and then took off posting wins in the next three games to take the final set with a 4-1 set win. Good try to John Killett who continues to struggle some and nice shooting by Jaret. Final Score: Jaret Wilson (12) John Killett (6) Table 4: #14 Marty McCuiston vs #4 Joe Lopiccola: 8 Ball: Joe and Marty exchanged the first four games of the set as each player won on their opponents break. All tied a two, Joe took off and finished the set nailing back to back wins for a 4-2 set win. 9 Ball: This set was a similar except that the player breaking won their games as Marty took games 1 & 3. Joe took game 2 and did not stop after taking game 4 as he posted another back to back wins to take the set 4-2. 10 Ball: Joe wasted no time in getting into the lead in this set as he nailed wins in the first three games to get on the hill quickly. Marty found his only win in game 4 before Joe took the final game for a 4-1 set win. Good effort to Marty and nice shooting by Joe. Joe also inches closer to Mike J and trails by (1) point, tied with Gary Loverde in 2nd place. Final Score: Joe Lopiccola (15) Marty McCuiston (4) #11 Mike Jernigan vs #7 Dave Evans: 8 Ball: This set favored Mike J all the way as he continued to shoot good and hold Dave off the score sheet for the first 3 games. Dave then seemed to find ways to win and took game 4 to stay in the set. The next thing Mike J saw was the final win in game 7 by Dave to take the set with four straight wins and a 4-3 win. 9 Ball: Mike again jumped out to a three game lead with some nice shooting continually holding Dave down. Dave started his comeback winning game 4, found a win in game 5 but on the ensuing break in game 6, Mike did not give Dave a chance to comeback as he ran the entire rack to take the set, 4-2. 10 Ball: The break & run seemed to energize Mike J more as he opened with a win and continued to stymie Dave with tough leaves and followed up with good shots to take the next three games and the set, 4-0 & keeping Dave off the scoresheet in the set. Good shooting by both players. Final Score: Mike Jernigan (13) Dave Evans (7) Mike J loses ground and only has a 1 point lead. Table 6: #9 Mike Bates vs #1 Scott Kroll: 8 Ball: This set was all in Mike B’s favor as Scott could not capitalize on the misses by Mike B. Mike opened with a win and kept Scott off the scoresheet blanking him 4-0. 9 Ball: Mike posted the opening win in this set and then Scott made some nice shots and nailed back to back wins to take the lead 2-1. Again, Mike found more opportunities as well as some nice shot making to take the next three games and capture the set 4-2. 10 Ball: Mike started this set posting a 3-10 combo to take the first game. Scott found a win in game 2 and then Mike did what he does well, hold off the opponent and win games. He started by nailing a 10 ball on the break and won the game and did not stop until he had filled in all four boxes on the score sheet for a 4-1 set win. Good try by Scott and nice shooting by Mike B. Final Score: Mike Bates (15) Scott (3). Mike B also gains some ground on Mike J.
