WHAT I NEED TO KNOW

This module contains the lesson in Arts and one of which is demonstrating an
understanding of shapes, colors, and the principles of contrast and harmony through the use
of the new media in creating audio-video art and product or package design.

After completing this module, you are expected to:

1. Discuss the concept that design principles and elements relates to everyday objects.

WHAT’S NEW
Look around, you see different colors, shapes, lines, and texture. These elements of art make
up our environment. Varied designs are observable and created using combination of these elements.

Imagine how the environment would be like without colors, shapes or design in every object we
see around.

In every moment of our life, art has become one of the most important elements that makes our
life and surroundings beautiful, colorful and alive.

These are pieces of artworks. They are usually displayed in museums, parks, and public places.

WHAT IS IT
Designing used to be done by hands. With the advent of technology, creating
designs became more advanced, you can now create designs for jewelry, shoes, bags,
clothes, furniture, bottles, woodcraft and many other things using the computer. But despite
the use of technology, the elements and principles of art are still applied.
What is sculpture?
Sculpture is a branch of the visual
arts that is specifically concerned with
expressive three-dimension form. Any
material capable of being shaped in three
dimensions can be used in sculpting.
In the past, sculpting is only done
manually. In manual sculpting, a sculptor
works by hand to shape a material, using a
chisel, into any form.
