by the action performed. – xxx may be the verb part of the command. or alphabetically by name.Introduction This book is designed as a cross-reference to help users who are familiar with System/36 system function to determine which AS/400 control language (CL) command performs the same (or similar) function. a group may consist of commands grouped by subject matter. Some AS/400 commands provide new function not available on the System/36. There are many CMDxxx menus on the AS/400 system. type the command name on the command line and press F4 to see the command prompt for parameters. “AS/400 Control Language Commands” on page 53. The Major Command Groups menu lists commands in general groups. Only those commands with equivalent System/36 function appear in the cross-reference listing. Detailed information about the function of AS/400 commands is available in the CL Reference. For example. There are several ways to display lists of commands: Press F4 on a blank command line to see the Major Command Groups menu.
