The  Answered  Supplication  

 

 
1. The  Messenger  of  Allah  sallallahu  alayhe  wa  sallam  said,  “Whoever  wakes  up  at  night,   then  says:  ‘None  has  the  right  to  be  worshipped  except  Allaah,  alone,  without  any  partner,   to  Him  belong  all  sovereignty  and  praise,  He  gives  life  and  He  causes  death,  and  He  is  over   all  things  omnipotent.  How  perfect  Allaah  is,  and  all  praise  is  for  Allaah,  and  None  has  the   right  to  be  worshipped  except  Allah,  and  Allaah  is  the  greatest.  And  there  is  no  might  nor   power  except  with  Allah’”  then  he  says,  “O  Allah  forgive  me”,  or  he  supplicated,  it  would  be   answered  for  him,  then  if  he  gets  up,  makes  wudhu,  then  prays,  his  prayer  would  be   accepted”  [Al-­‐Bukhari  and  other  him  reported  it]  

 

  2. The  Prophet  sallallahu  alayhe  wa  sallam  heard  a  man  saying,  “O  Allah,  Indeed  I  ask  you   by  that  I  bear  witness  that  You  are  Allah,  none  has  the  right  to  be  worshipped  but  You,  The   One,  The  Self-­Sufficient  Master,  Who  begets  not,  nor  was  He  begotten.  And  there  is  none   coequal  or  comparable  to  Him.”  So  he  sallallahu  alayhe  wa  sallam  said,  by  the  One  in  

 

The  Answered  Supplication  
whose  hand  is  my  soul,  Indeed  he  asked  Allah  by  His  Greatest  name,  which  if  He  is  called  by   it,  He  answers,  and  If  He  is  asked  by  it,  He  gives.”  [Authentic,  Ahmed  reported  it]    

  3. The  supplication  of  possessor  of  the  whale,  when  he  supplicated  by  it  while  he  was  in   the  belly  of  the  whale,  “None  has  the  right  to  be  worshipped  except  You.  How  perfect  You   are,  verily  I  was  among  the  wrong-­doers.”  No  Muslim  man  ever  called  by  it  for  a  thing   except  that  Allah  responded  to  it.    [Authentic,  Ahmed  reported  it]    

 

  4. The  Messenger  sallallahu  alayhe  wa  sallam  used  to  say,  if  worry  or  grief  befall  him,  “O   Ever  Living,  O  Self-­Subsisting  and  Supporter  of  all,  by  Your  mercy  I  seek  assistance.”  [Good,   At-­‐tirmidhi  reported  it]
