 Responsible for major Pre-Sales activities at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Pvt Ltd.
 Responsible for major client side Implementations and Client Interactions.
 Involved in all SDLC phases and lead a team of 20 to handle landmark projects like Artwork Management,
Brand Protection, and Customer Relationship Management for Sun Pharmaceutical, India’s 6 th Largest
Pharmaceutical Company.

Projects Summary

1) Customer Relationship Management System August’10-March’11

 Sun Pharmaceutical has an internal team of people handling different geographies in terms of selling
Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). CRM System has been developed to cater to the need of
managing Leads and Opportunities and giving a transparent view of business to the Management.
 The solution aims to provide a very user friendly approach to ease the data handling and provide more
enhanced customized reporting to each user.
 The biggest challenge was to understand the business dynamics of Indian, EU and Latin America Markets
and to provide a solution to suffice the requirements of all the Markets.
 Solution had to adhere to the 21-CFR-Part 11 Compliance guidelines for development of Software
Solution for pharmaceutical companies.

Responsibilities Handled:

 Managed a team of 8 to Design, Customize, and Develop and Implement the CRM solution.
 Continuous Interaction with users to understand the use cases involved in the manual process being
followed presently.
 Worked on choosing the best Open Source CRM, scalable on Cloud environment going forward.
Solution Provided:

 SugarCRM, chosen as a solution depending on various factors like less budget involved, cloud
preparedness and unlimited free Licenses for the users.
 Technologies Used: LAMP (Linux (Cent OS 5.5), Apache Server, MySQL 5.5, PHP 5), Java ESB SOA
based Framework, Web Services Implemented using Axis.
 Project Management Tools: Microsoft Project Plan, Work Breakdown Structure

Customizations Undertaken:
 SugarCRM solution was customized to meet the requirements of the users with custom coding and
inclusion of Custom Modules such as Products and Quotations, Reporting, Sample Management.
 Integration of SugarCRM with In-House ERP System and Business Intelligence System (a data
warehouse) was done to update the data from ERP to CRM on fortnight basis over the Web Services.
 Integration of Lotus Notes was done with the Sugar CRM solution over the Web Services using
Oxyent-Medical’s ESB-SOA based Framework which provides a component to connect to the
Domino Server.

2) Artwork Management System (AMS) Sept’10-March’11

 Artwork Management System is a workflow based solution, designed to automate the workflow
followed by the Packaging Department at Sun Pharmaceutical Advanced Research Center (SPARC).
 Artwork refers to the design of foils, wrappers, boxes which are used as packing materials of Medicines.
 Challenges involved in the Project included the implementation of Workflows and bringing together 8
Departments from within the Organization to use the System from Generating an Artwork Request to
approving it and finally sending it across to the Vendor for Printing.

Responsibilities Handled:

 Gathered Requirements, Worked on the design with the Solution Architect and Managed a team of
developers to develop and Implement the Solution.
 Did a gap analysis based on the requirements and created a project plan to utilize the resources to
turn around the solution before the deadline.
 Followed processes according to the 21-CFR-Part11 (Code of Federal Regulation) guidelines at each
step of SDLC.

Solution Provided:

 System based on Oxyent-Medical’s JAVA ESB-SOA based framework with UI made using Open Source
Ajax ZK and Hibernate being the ORM layer over MySQL 5.5 Database.
 Technologies Used: JAVA ESB, Open Source Ajax, jBPM based Workflow API of Alfresco DMS,
Domino 8.5, AXIS for Web Services
 Project Management Tools: Microsoft Project Plan, Work Breakdown Structure, Low Level Plans
and Scrum Meetings.
