Bistro 163 Free Community Dinner

Every month, on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, Bistro 163
serves a Free Community Dinner take-out style at the side door of the
restaurant. The menu for Monday, September 27th was tater tot casserole,
fresh garden salad, dinner rolls, and assorted homemade cookies, served
from 4:00-6:00. Both of our September dinners were sponsored by a
generous gift from Hal and Diane Hawk. A total of 296 dinners were served
this last night. 171 of those dinners were delivered, free of any charge, to
homes by our volunteer drivers, and 125 dinners were handed out at the side
door. All neighbors are welcome to come to Bistro 163 for a free dinner.
October meals are planned for Monday the 11th and the 25th.

Bistro 163 Wins More Awards

On September 23rd, the Port Clinton Beacon Newspaper announced the

results of “The Best of the Best” voting for 2021. This year, everyone was
allowed to vote “online” on the website www.thebeacon.net, each email
address was permitted one vote, and each voter was asked to complete at
least 50% of the ballot. There were 24 categories available for
recognition, and Bistro 163 received its 5th consecutive BEST NON-PROFIT
award. The Bistro Burger was chosen as the #2 BEST BURGER by voters,
and the General Manager of Bistro 163, Babs Klacik, was voted the #3
MOST COMMUNITY MINDED INDIVIDUAL. What surprised everyone at
Bistro 163 was winning the award for BEST RESTAURANT!

Bistro 163 is routinely evaluated on social media platforms for its fresh
locally sourced food, kind attentive volunteer servers, and mission to
address hunger in our community. Here are the most recent 5-star
reviews, posted this month on Google by Diana and Patricia, both visitors
to our area:

“We visited an #amazing #restaurant called #bistro163 in #portclinton #ohio . It's an amazing nonprofit that helps
with #foodsecurity in #ottawacounty. The volunteer servers were so kind and explained the mission of this
organization so lovingly. Everyone is welcome regardless of their ability pay and they host a community dinner twice a
month. The food is outstanding! It's fresh, made to order and served beautifully. If you are planning a trip up to this
area, add it to your list of restaurants to visit. It is close to #jetexpress and #millersferry to get you to the islands.”

"This is a pay it forward restaurant with suggested prices which will provide a meal to anyone. Serves lunch 5x week
and community dinners 2x month. Has space for special events and catering.
Servers are volunteers. Had a great lunch 2x soup tomato basil and tuscan
bean, a burger (yummy and savory) with chips, a grilled cheese sandwich, a
flatbread with chicken, bacon, strawberries and balsamic glaze. Food was
great and servers were attentive. Wish I had room to try dessert. This place is
in Sutton Center...strip mall right before 163 entrance to route 2 Where
Ottawa County offices are. Worth a drive to do a good deed. they also have
other sandwiches, flatbreads, quiches and salads...many items are local
produce so change regularly."
