Recommendation for Tylee Linsley

I have had the pleasure of knowing Tylee Linsley for the past 17 years. Our families work
together at Camp Barakel in Fairview, MI and she attends the same school as our children. I
have been her volleyball coach for several years. I also observed her on the basketball team that
my husband coached (JV) and during the last two years as she volunteered at Camp Barakel.
I would classify Tylee Linsley as a solid student-athlete. We have appreciated the addition of
Tylee Linsley to our school and athletic teams. Last year she could not play due to an injury but
that did not deter her from coming to all of the practices and games during the entire season. We
commend her dedication and commitment to the teams, regardless of her level of participation.
This also provided a very visible example to our students and athletes as they knew the situation.
Along with these qualities, her desire to learn and achieve the best results has pushed her and her
teammates in the right direction.
Tylee leads from wherever she’s at – the bench, the court, behind the scenes. She’s aware of
weaknesses and desires to solve them, either by helping the player(s) or making necessary
changes that will help the team overall. She’s willing to take correction herself in order to better
team play. One example of this: she is a good passer and helped a great deal in the back row.
Due to low numbers on our team, we needed her to also develop into a front row player. She
stepped into that role and is gaining in knowledge and confidence by working on her skills each
day. As Tylee’s volleyball coach (and hearing from my husband), I would say her willingness to
listen, take advice and apply it is her main strength along with making sure that everyone on the
team is included and we’ve witnessed that on and off the courts.
Tylee also has done well serving at Camp Barakel, gently leading within the program as she
helps train a small group of girls that she worked with each week, helping them learn the
routines, know where things are, and encourage them in their work ethic. She is conscious to be
aware of those who may not be fitting in and assist them in succeeding. Her supervisors
appreciate her attention to details as well as a respectful manner in accomplishing her tasks.
I am confident that she will handle the upcoming transitions to college in such a manner that will
allow her to succeed in her endeavors.
Sincerely,
