Annual PTA Fun Run Kicks Off TODAY!

Every year our PTA hosts a “Fun Run” where our community raises funds to support our school. It’s a really fun
event for the kids, takes place on campus, and parents get to attend and “spray their kids down with water.” All
donations for the student’s laps are on-line (no money allowed in person). Students will begin collecting donations
(only through online transactions) on Tuesday, October 5th and the Fun Run takes place on Friday October 15th at
staggered times beginning at 9:15 am on our field.

Cox Cub of the Week: Congratulations to the following students for earning the
“Cub of the Week” award for their class: Bella Denman, Charles Chavez,
Emily Dillavou, Zachary Riggs, Xaria McCoy, Ava Wilcox, Adrian Rios,
Maya Tassev, Ethan Man, Izabella Hopewell, and McKay Winfree.

PTA News: Please join our PTA! The Membership Drive is still going! We are
trying to get 100% parent membership and are having a class competition for highest
membership! Tonight is our October PTA meeting at 6 pm in the MP Room.

Week of Respect Update: Families our Counselor Ms. Deihl loves conducting the “Week of Respect” we have here
in Nevada. However, she is out this week and didn’t want to miss it. We will be having our “Week of Respect” when
she returns NEXT week.

Parent Student Teacher Conferences NEXT WEEK!

This year we are holding all conferences virtually (as we did last year) unless the teacher needs parents to attend in-person in
order to sign academic paperwork. In-person conferences can be requested and accommodated for individual cases.

Sign-ups begin today, Tuesday, October 5th on Sign-up Genius. Please look for the email, paperwork, and/or Class Dojo next
TUESDAY for sign up times. Our school will (again) utilize the web-based sign-up program “Sign-Up Genius” for parents
to pick times. Below are the instructions for using Sign-Up Genius.

SuperStar Cubs: Congratulations to 3 awesome Fourth Graders: Colton Newberry, Christopher Karsaz, and Ryan
LoBue! They’ve completed ALL their math levels within the Reflex program with 100% fluency in their math facts.

Super Star Specialist Classes of the Month (2nd posting): As we wrap up the month of September, congratulations
to the following classes who have shown outstanding class behaviors in Library, Art, Music, PE, and Science:
Mrs. Ernst’s Class, Ms. Anderson’s Class, Miss Ash’s Class, Mrs. Kuhlman’s Class, Mrs. Barcelo’s Class,
Mrs. Piccininni’s Class, and Mrs. Martin’s Class! Keep up the great work!

Cox Covid Update: Here is some latest news from the district about reporting Covid: “Please utilize the new CCSD
COVID-19 Parent/Guardian hotline to report your student's positive COVID test result or your child's recent exposure
to a COVID positive individual. The CCSD COVID-19 Parent/Guardian Hotline is available Monday through Friday
from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and can be reached by calling 702-799-4322. Free COVID -19 testing options at Southern
Nevada Health District and vaccination resources are available at Southern Nevada Health District Vaccines.”
Early Bird Computer Lab News (2nd posting): Families, we are no longer having Early Bird Computer Lab. With
student having their own chrome books there have only been three students in the past 5 weeks. It is just not used as
it has been in past years and those licensed teachers who were running it need to be utilized elsewhere.

Super Important Parent Notification (2nd posting): Some of our families will be receiving the P-EBT cards for their
students in the mail soon. If you check on https://accessnevada.dwss.nv.gov/public/landing-page you’ll see our school
qualifies. Kids can receive over $400 each and I would hate families to throw it away by accident. The envelop it
comes in literally looks like junk mail. Please keep an eye out for this in your mail.
