The White Giraffe by Lauren St John This book is about a girl called Martine whose parents are killed in a fire just after her 11th birthday, so she has to move to Africa to live with her grandmother, who is her only living relative and guardian. Whilst looking for the legendary white giraffe on the nearby game reserve her life is transformed. It is then that she realises she has a power to control all animals. So when the white giraffe is stolen, Martine finds this unusual power extremely helpful when she attempts to save this amazing, elegant animal. I found that this mysterious book is page-turning as well as very interesting. Alice Piper, 10 A set of Mission: Explore books by the Geography Collective is on its way to you, Alice
