Reminder…there is NO SCHOOL for ELEMENTARY STUDENTS in CCSD on WEDNESDAY for teacher-

parent conferences (middle and high school students are still attending school).

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OUR PARENTS WHO WERE ABLE TO HELP US THIS WEEK FOR
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL DUTY! This cleared up 10 days for teachers to be able to provide more
conference times! You are so appreciated!!!

Annual PTA Fun Run Going Strong!

Thank you families and students for continuing to get donations for our PTA Fun Run!
We are almost beating all our previous Fun Run donations!
Fun Run takes place THIS Friday October 15th at staggered times beginning at 9:15 am on our field. We are
looking for volunteers to help with water, students, and hosing down kids (you can bring your own water-shooters).

Cox Cub of the Week: Congratulations to the following students for earning the
“Cub of the Week” award for their class: Abrielle Burton, Matthew Skelton,
Devin Batts, Mataio Andrade, Mateo Mashino, Daniel Tsatourian, Justin
Constantin, Sloane Davis, Amina Sekondo, Michaela Church, and Kaila Bangan!

Great Job Third Grade and Our Guitar Students: A huge thank you to Mrs.
Papanek for putting on such a good musical performance last Friday and this
morning for our third grade classes! Third Graders sounded wonderful and our
Guitar Students performed awesome as well! Thank you to the teachers, parents,
and to Mr. Papanek, and Daughter Papanek for helping make this performance a
big hit!

PTA News: Our membership drive is finished and we have 31% of our parents as members for our school!
Congratulations to the top earning classes: Mrs. Brown, Ms. Anderson, Ms. Lopez, Mrs. Benton, Mrs. Stackel,
Ms. Galdi, and Ms. Hall! They will be having their “Water Dodgeball” this week!

Week of Respect Update: We are having our DMC Week of Respect next week, October 18th -22nd . There will be
dress days (optional) each day and activities for the students to participate in. A flier will be coming home later this
week.

Cox Covid Update: Please utilize the new CCSD COVID-19 Parent/Guardian hotline to report your student's positive
COVID test result or your child's recent exposure to a COVID positive individual. The CCSD COVID-19
Parent/Guardian Hotline is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and can be reached by calling
702-799-4322. Free COVID -19 testing options at Southern Nevada Health District and vaccination resources are
available at Southern Nevada Health District Vaccines.”

Super Important Parent Notification (final posting): Some of our families will be receiving the P-EBT cards for their
students in the mail soon. If you check on https://accessnevada.dwss.nv.gov/public/landing-page you’ll see our school
qualifies. Kids can receive over $400 each and I would hate families to throw it away by accident. The envelop it comes
in literally looks like junk mail.
