What is the main problem translators have to face when dealing with translation
of cultural elements?
The main problem translators have to have face when dealing with translation of
cultural elements is the fact that some cultural elements need to be explained while
others cultural elements are shared by the TT audience. Therefore, the translator has to
make tough decisions in order to make TT readers feel the effect the ST writer was
looking for.

10. Find some example of translation of culture-specific elements and analyse the
strategies used to deal with the differences in theses cultural settings.

Me caen fatal tus amiguitos.
antes.

María was taking a siesta in her house located in Valencia, when her friend Julia rang
the doorbell since they wanted to have paella together. After lunch, Julia wants to
attend the celebration of the Falles, but Maria prefers going bar hopping and eating
some tapas with her popular friends.

Keep wishing, no fucking way! I can’t stand your friends. It would be much better to go
with Lucia and then we have the Spanish omelette we have made for dinner.
